The Staff Selection Commission conducts the SSC CGL exam every year to recruit candidates for Group “B” and Group “C” positions in various central government departments such as Income Tax, Customs, CBI, CBDT, CBEC, and others. It is one of the most popular national-level exams among graduates.
For the financial year 2025–26, the official SSC CGL 2025 notification was released, announcing 14,582 vacancies for Group B and C posts on the official website www.ssc.gov.in. A large number of candidates applied for these posts. The CBT exam was conducted from 12th to 26th September 2025. However, due to technical issues at several centres, the exam was cancelled. The SSC CGL re-exam has now been scheduled for 14th October 2025.

The SSC’s official website has a link to apply online for the SSC CGL 2025. Many candidates have filled the application form this year.
The fee may be paid electronically using BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or with a credit or debit card from Visa, Mastercard, RuPay, Maestro, or in cash at SBI branches by generating an SBI Challan.
However, candidates who desire to pay in cash using the SBI challan may do so at any SBI branch during regular business hours.

The submitted documents are needed during the application’s last check. The applicants should have a printed version of the online submitted records. The competitors should have their Matriculation Certificate, Graduation Certificate, Caste certificate (if filled), and other significant documents.

Candidates should carry any photo-attached identity proof with a printed copy of their Admit card – Aadhar Card, PAN card, Voter ID Card, Driving License, Passport, or other ID Proof given by the Government. The entrance to the examination will be denied if the candidate doesn’t carry the necessary documents to the test center.
Candidates should carefully choose their centers and accurately mention those choices in their applications. The exam centers are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Allotment depends on the number of available seats in the city of your first choice and the exam center’s active/cancel status. The SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam will be conducted online and will consist of 4 sections with a total of 100 multiple-choice questions, carrying a maximum of 200 marks. The exam duration is 60 minutes. Tier 1 will be qualifying in nature, and the marks obtained will not be considered in the final merit list.

The SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam 2025 will be held in two phases – Paper I and Paper II.
Paper I is mandatory for all posts, while Paper II is only for candidates applying for the post of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation.
