MPSC Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the post, candidates must fulfil certain eligibility requirements. Candidates fulfilling those eligibility requirements will be eligible to take the 2024 exam.

Nationality/Citizenship

To be eligible for the MPSC State Service Exam 2024, candidates must hold Indian citizenship. While the exams are open to all Indian nationals, residents of Maharashtra state can avail of certain relaxations in the eligibility criteria. Specifically, individuals who have been residing in Maharashtra for over 10 years are eligible for reservation benefits. Fluency in Marathi, both spoken and written, is a vital requirement to apply for these examinations. Note: Candidates appearing for the MPSC state exam must have attained a minimum age of 19 years on or before March 1 of the year in which they are taking the MPSC Prelims exam. Certain age relaxations are available for candidates belonging to specific categories.

Age Relaxation Policy for MPSC 2024

Age relaxation will be granted to candidates belonging to reserved categories per government regulations.

  • The minimum age limit for the MPSC Exam for Backward Classes: 19 years; the Maximum age limit: 43 years.

Ex-Servicemen:

Physical Eligibility

In the MPSC State Service examination, there are specific posts that have physical qualification requirements. To be eligible for the positions of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP)/Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO), candidates must meet the prescribed MPSC Physical Qualifications.

  • Male candidates must have a minimum height of 165 cm.
  • Female candidates must have a minimum height of 157 cm.

Candidates applying for the following cadres/posts must fulfill the physical measurements/qualifications mentioned below in addition to the above requirements:

(1) Deputy Superintendent of Police/Assistant Commissioner of Police, Group A:

In addition to the above qualifications, certain cadres require specific physical measurements and educational qualifications, which will be provided in the notification of the mains examination.

Candidates must fulfill these requirements to be considered for the respective posts/categories. Failure to meet the prescribed physical measurements and educational qualifications will result in the candidate’s preference not being considered for the respective post.

The MPSC examination for the year 2024 will soon release its official notification, following which the application form will be made available on the MPSC’s official website. The application process for MPSC Recruitment 2024 consists of two parts: Registration and Application.

How To Register For the Exam 2024?

To register for MPSC, follow the steps outlined below:

  • Visit the official website of MPSC: mpsc.gov.in.
  • On the home page, locate and click on the “Online Application System” tab under “Online Facilities.”
  • Click on the “User registration” tab and complete the application form by providing your email address, mobile number, and other necessary details.
  • Verify your contact details through OTPs and proceed with the registration process.
  • Upon successful registration, you will receive your Registration Number via email/SMS. Save it for future reference.

How To Apply For the MPSC Exam Application?

Once registered on the MPSC portal, you can proceed to apply for the MPSC Exams 2024 using the following steps:

  • On the MPSC homepage, find and click on the desired notification tab.
  • Locate the “Apply Now” button and click on it to log in using your registration number and password.
  • Provide all the required details in the application form, upload the necessary documents, and click on the submit button.
  • Finally, complete the MPSC registration process by making the application fee payment online.
  • Candidates are advised to take a printout of the application form and keep the receipt of the fee payment for future reference.

The MPSC Admit Card for the upcoming MPSC examination will be made available on the official portal. Candidates who have can download their MPSC Exam admit cards from the official website of MPSC using their login credentials. Below are the step-by-step instructions to obtain the MPSC Admit Card:

Step 2: Locate the section labeled “Important Announcements” and find the link for the MPSC Exam Admit Card. Click on the respective link.

Step 3: Enter your registration ID and password as provided during the application process.

Step 4: Once you have entered the required details, your MPSC Admit Card will be displayed on the screen. Download it for future reference.

MPSC Exam 2024 Pattern

The MPSC recruitment process for 2024 consists of a qualifying Preliminary Examination with 2 papers, followed by a Main Examination with 6 papers. Unlike previous years, there are no optional subjects included in the examination.

The MPSC exam pattern can be summarized as follows:

  • MPSC Prelims Exam: This stage comprises 2 papers with a total of 200 marks.
  • MPSC Mains Exam: The Main Examination consists of 6 mandatory papers, carrying a total of 800 marks.
  • MPSC Interview: The final stage of the selection process is the MPSC Interview, which is conducted for a total of 100 marks.

MPSC Prelims Exam Pattern

The MPSC Prelims Exam for 2024 will consist of a Preliminary Examination with two papers, followed by the Main Examination with six mandatory papers. The Preliminary Examination is recognized as a qualifying round for the Main Examination. Shortly after the Prelims, the MPSC releases the answer key for candidates’ reference. To be eligible for the MPSC Mains examination, candidates must score a minimum of 33% in the Preliminary Examination.

MPSC Mains Exam Pattern

Candidates who secure the minimum MPSC cut-off marks, as determined by the Commission, will receive the admit card to appear for the MPSC Mains Exam. The following points outline the MPSC Mains Exam pattern:

  • Decision-making questions in Paper II do not have a negative marking scheme for incorrect answers.
  • In each MPSC Mains exam paper, the qualifying marks for both reserved category and general category candidates are 40 marks and 45 marks, respectively.
  • All the papers in the Mains Exam are mandatory. A negative marking of 1/4th of a mark for each wrong response is present.

MPSC Exam 2024 Result

The MPSC Group B Combined Prelims Exam results are expected to be announced approximately one month after the MPSC exam. The authorities will also release the MPSC answer keys shortly after the exam. To access the MPSC Results, visit the official website at https://www.mpsc.gov.in/.

The MPSC result represents the final list of applicants who have been shortlisted by the Commission after completing the Selection Phase, comprising the MPSC Prelim Exam, Main Exam, and Interview. The final result includes the marks obtained in the Mains exam and Interview, but not the preliminary exam. The MPSC result will be released after each stage of the examination.
