Indian Post has recently released a notification regarding the posts of 38,926 Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) for the role of BPM/ABPM/DakSevak.

What is Indian Post GDS Recruitment?

The India Post  acts as an exam conducting body for  GDS (Gramin Dak Sevak) recruitment. The India Post GDS Cycle 3 is conducted to select candidates under the roles Branch Postmaster, Assistant Branch Post Master, and Gramin Dak Sevak. In addition, it also publishes GDS vacancies of postal Circles across India. Furthermore, the India Post does not conduct exams for the India Post GDS ( Gramin Dak Sevak) cycle 3 as the selection criterion is  based on the marks obtained by the candidate in class 10. So, instead of exams, the India Post publishes a merit list of qualifying candidates for GDS recruitment.

India Post GDS Job Profile

  • The branch postmaster (BPM) is one of the posts under the India Post GDS. the Branch Post Master (BPM) is  responsible for the postal works at the Gram Panchayat. The BPM is also accountable for encouraging government programs like SamrudhiYojana, Sukanya, Money Depositing, etc. and taking care of cash orders, book and speed posts.
  • The Assistant Post Master Branch (APMB) supports the BPM for the branch work. The BPM  is also responsible for the procurement of stamps, stationery, mail delivery while assisting in marketing and arrangement of melas.
  • Gram Dak Sevak is one of the posts under GDS. The functions of a Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) are assisting the postmaster/ sub-postmaster,sale of stamps and stationery, and mail transfers. GSD is also involved in Railway Mail Services (RMS) like opening and closing of bags, and bag transport.

India Post GDS Recruitment Exam Application Fee

The Application fee for GDS Application form is different for different section in the society. Fee can be paid through online method., candidates use Net Banking, Credit Card, or Debit Card to pay. Once payment is completed, a confirmation from the India Post is sent in the registered mobile number. GDS Eligibility Criteria I

  •  Age Limit

It is one of the criteria that a candidate must fulfill to get selected. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and not more than 40 years of age). In addition, the Indian Post has relaxed the upper age limit by 3 years for OBCs and 5 for SC/ST. It has also given age relaxation to Persons with Disabilities (PWD) up to 10 years. However, there is no age relaxation for economically weaker sections (EWS).

  •  Qualification

, a candidate must possess the essential academic qualification for the India Post GDS. The essential qualification is SSC or 10th class from a recognized Board/University. He/She is also required to obtain a passing mark in math. He/She needs to have a certificate from any board of education recognized by the Government of India.   •  Language Proficiency

Proficiency in English and the local language of the state or territory is especially desirable. However, reading, writing, and speaking fluency in the local language isrequired. The local language should have been either a mandatory or optional course up to the 10th grade.

  • Computer Literacy

Candidates must have sufficient or thorough practical knowledge and understanding of computer systems. Therefore, they must enroll in an elementary computer training course of 60 days. They can then enroll in any computer training Institute run by the Central Government/State Government and Private Institutions Organizations. On the other hand, applicants with computer topics in matriculation are relaxed.

GDS Eligibility Criteria III

  • Cycling expertise

, cycling is a required criterion. It is a must for every GDS position because they are responsible for outdoor mail delivery. For instance, knowledge of riding a scooter or motorcycle is also cycling expertise. Besides that, the candidate must also submit a cycling statement.

  •  Sufficient means of livelihood

GDS candidates are not fully employed but only for 4 or 5 hours, they can have other sources of income. Although, it is not a prerequisite.

India Post GDS Salary

Indian post-GDS selected candidates will receive TRCA (Time-Related Continuity Allowance) as wages. candidates are not employed full-time, they are employed for part-time role. they only serve for 4 hours and 5 hours of duty and paid for the same.

GDS TRCA

TRCA is the salary received by DGS selected candidates.

TRCA has two slabs or levels. First is the minimum TRCA for 4 hours of duty., a candidate will serve for 4 hours and get a minimum salary. On the other hand, level 2 or slab 2 is the minimum TRCA for 5  hours of duty. a candidate serving 5 hours will get the minimum TRCA under this slab.

GDS Minimum TRCA

recruited candidates are under the 4-hour category of TRCA. Eventually, they are under the TRCA 5 -hour category.

Post Master Branch (BPM) will get a TRCA of Rs 12,000 for 4 hours. Subsequently, he would receive Rs 14,500 for 5 hours.

an Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM) and Dak Sevab would receive Rs 10,000 and Rs 12,000.

BPM receives a maximum wage of Rs 29,380 for 4 hours and Rs 35,480 for 5. ABPM & Dak Sevak might also get the highest salary of Rs 24,470 and Rs 29,480.

India Post GDS Incentives and Allowances

The India Post has issued openings for the India Post GDS Recruitment 2022. , there are three categories under the India Post GDS. The posts include Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM), and Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) posts. Therefore, interested candidates can apply for the India Post GDS.

The candidates selected for these posts are not employed full-time. But, they are employed part-time only. Basically, these candidates would only serve or work for some hours of duty. GDS TRCA

the India Post Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) do not receive wages regularly or annually.  The wages are received according to the Time-Related Continuity Allowances (TCAs). That is to say, the salary is calculated based on the hours they serve. Therefore, the TRCA or Time-Related Continuity Allowance is the minimum salary that the selected candidates receive. they only serve for 4 hours and 5 hours of duty. Therefore, they would only get the minimum salary or minimum Time-related continuity allowance (TRCA).

The Time Related Continuity Allowance or TRCA has two slabs or levels. Firstly, it is the Minimum Time-related continuity allowance or Minimum TRCA for 4 hours of duty. Then, they receive a minimum salary or minimum TRCA. Category 2 is the minimum TRCA for 5 hours of duty
