Educational Qualification

The educational requirements will vary depending on the post you wish to apply for. Additionally, they will also differ within departments. Applicants must be at least 10th or 12th pass for most advertised positions.

Nationality / Citizenship

Individuals who wish to apply for the JKSSB exam 2023 must be:

  • Indian citizens, or
  • Domicile of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. It should be defined under Notifications issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.

The payment of application fees is the last stage of the application process. The fees, once paid, are not refunded by the officials under any circumstances. As there is no rule for fee payment through offline mode. Therefore, aspirants have to pay the fee through the online system only. All issues related to the reimbursement of excess payment, if any, are resolved by the JKSSB. Candidates are advised to request a refund of any excess payment only through the official site. No chargeback requests will be considered.

JKSSB Application Steps

Candidates should fill out the application form as soon as possible. The last date to apply for the vacant positions is 16th May 2023. Also, candidates must ensure that they have gone through the eligibility criteria carefully. Then apply by following the directions given below:

  • Visit the official JKSSB recruitment website.
  • Then, click on the Applicants Registration link in the top right corner of the page.
  • The candidate should provide their Name, Gender, Email ID, Mobile Number, and even a Password.

JKSSB Exam Pattern

The JKSSB’s selection process consists of a Written exam and Document Verification. The selection board also examines various criteria during the final merit list preparation. It differs across Union Territories, Divisional Cadre, and District Cadre.

  • The pattern of the exam will be objective type – MCQ based.
  • The questions will be in the English language only.
  • 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

JKSSB Exam Pattern: Document Verification

It is the second and last stage of the selection process. Candidates who pass the written test with the needed cut-off marks will be called for Document Verification. Candidates must provide the original documents and a self-attested Photocopy of each document given below. It is important to note that the candidate must have the necessary academic qualifications and age confirmation certificates. In fact, the certificate must be issued on or before the last date for submitting the online application form. Other documents, such as a Domicile Certificate, Category Certificate, etc., must be produced on the day of Document Verification.

  • Degree or certificate of graduate, post-graduate, or doctorate.
  • 12th certificate.
  • 10th certificate (required for Date of Birth)
  • If a candidate claims a certain qualification as an equivalent qualification, an order letter is needed. It should indicate the authority (number and date) under which it has been so held. It is done considering the equivalent clause in the Essential Qualifications section.
  • Caste/Category Certificate, if you fall into one of the reserved categories.
  • Two current passport-sized photo, and one original ID (Aadhar Card Voters ID, etc.) is required.
  • Candidates claiming domicile must present a J&K domicile certificate.
  • A Physically Handicapped Certificate is required (if applied under PH category)
