HTET Eligibility Criteria

To be able to appear for the HTET examination, applicants must meet the eligibility requirements. To provide an idea of what to expect in the upcoming HTET in 2024, a summary of the eligibility criteria from the previous year has been provided below for each level.

AMENDMENTS REGARDING ELIGIBILITY FOR HTET 2024

The eligibility criteria for Haryana government school teachers, as defined by CTET, have been updated. Individuals possessing CTET certification are no longer considered eligible for teaching positions in Haryana government schools. To obtain a valid certificate and qualify for these positions, it is now mandatory for candidates to take the HTET exam.

LEVEL 1

(which includes Classes 1 to 5)

The eligibility criteria for HTET Level 1 are as follows:

  • Candidates must have a Senior Secondary (or equivalent) qualification with at least 50% marks and have passed or be appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education recognized by the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations, 2007, which were notified on August 31, 2009; OR
  • Candidates must have a Senior Secondary (or equivalent) qualification with at least 45% marks and have passed or be appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education recognized by the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations, 2002; OR
  • Candidates must have a Senior Secondary (or equivalent) qualification with at least 50% marks and have passed or be appearing in the final year of a four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed); OR
  • Candidates must have a Senior Secondary (or equivalent) qualification with at least 50% marks and have passed or be appearing in the final year of a two-year Diploma in Education (Special Education); OR
  • Candidates must have a Graduation qualification and have passed or be appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
  • Candidates must have passed Matric with Hindi/Sanskrit or have completed Senior Secondary/Graduation/Post Graduation with Hindi as one of the subjects.

LEVEL 2 

(which includes Classes 6 to 8)

To be eligible for the HTET Level 2 exam, candidates preparing for the TGT exam should meet the following criteria:

  • Graduated from the relevant discipline and finished a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education or are currently enrolled in it.
  • Have a graduation degree in the relevant discipline with a minimum of 50% marks and have passed or be appearing in a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
  • Possess a graduation degree in the relevant discipline with at least 45% marks and have passed or be appearing in a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) that complies with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedures) Regulations.
  • Have completed Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and have passed or be appearing in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
  • Have completed Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and have passed or be appearing in the final year of a 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
  • Possess a graduation degree in the relevant discipline with a minimum of 50% marks and have passed or be appearing in a 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education).

LEVEL 3 

(which includes Classes 9 to 12)

If you’re getting ready for the HTET PGT exam, it’s important to know the minimum educational requirements. To be eligible for HTET Level 3, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Degree from a recognized university in the relevant subject with at least 50% marks.
  • Have completed a Bachelor of Education from a recognized university.
  • Pass Matriculation with Hindi and Sanskrit, or Senior Secondary/Graduation/Post Graduation in Hindi as subjects.
  • Demonstrate a consistent track record of academic achievement.

AGE LIMIT ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR HTET 2024

Salary Structure after HTET

Upon selection as a TGT/PGT at government schools, candidates will receive a monthly salary ranging from Rs. 35,400 to Rs. 1,42,400, based on their job post. Primary teachers will receive a gross salary of Rs. 35,400 – 1,12,400 per month, while TGT teachers will receive a salary of Rs. 47,600-1,51,100. PGT teachers will receive a gross salary of Rs. 44,900-1,42,400 per month.
