The Board of Secondary Education, Haryana (BSEH) holds the Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test or HTET exam for recruiting Primary Teachers (Level -1), Trained Graduate Teachers (Level 2), and Post Graduate Teachers (Level 3).
The HTET 2021 application form is supposed to be released in November or December this year on the BSEH official website. The application fees for this exam for the candidates of all other states except Haryana are Rs. 1000/- for PGT and Rs.1800/- for TGT. You can pay the fees online.
The pattern of HTET exam is different for the various levels. The question paper will be in both Hindi and English except in the language section. The subjects which are mandatory for each level are Quantitative Aptitude, English, Hindi, Reasoning Ability, General Knowledge, and Child Development and Pedagogy.
The qualified candidates will receive the HTET certificate. As the Education Minister has declared, the certificate will be valid for a lifetime.
Board of School Education Haryana (BSEH) was previously known as Haryana Board of School Education (HBSE) when it was established back in 1969. It recruits teachers in the Middle, Secondary, and Senior Secondary School (Vocational & Academic) levels every year in Haryana through the affiliated schools.

The official notification of HTET 2021 is not yet out. But don’t worry, we have all the important information from the previous year’s bulletin.
The posts you can apply for through HTET are— Primary Teacher (PGT), Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT), and Post Graduate Teacher (PGT). Of course, it is a State-level exam, as you might have already guessed from the name of the exam. The post of PGT is called Level-1, TGT is Level-2 and PGT is Level-3 during the application and selection procedure.
You have to apply for HTET 2021 online by going to the website of BSEH, which is the conducting body. It is given in the below tab. Yet, the written exam will be in pen and paper mode.
The application fee of HTET is Rs. 1000/- for only one level. If you want to apply for two levels, you will have to pay Rs. 1800/-. Likewise, to apply for all three levels, the fee is Rs. 2400/-. But there are some relaxations in the fee amount for certain reserved categories. We will talk about it later in detail.

As the application for the HTET exam for this year is yet to start and it is expected to happen in the last months of 2021, we are here to show you the important dates of the HTET 2020-21 exam. Hence, you will get an overall idea about the possible timelines, which will, in turn, help you to prepare.

The application fee of HTET is Rs. 1000/- for only one level. If you want to apply for two levels, you will have to pay Rs. 1800/-. Likewise, to apply for all the three levels, the fee is Rs. 2400/-.
But there are some relaxations in the fee amount for certain reserved categories. Candidates from Haryana belonging to SC and PH categories need to pay 500/- for one level, 900/- for two levels, and 1200/- for three levels. All other candidates of Haryana have to pay the regular fees as mentioned— so do all candidates, including SC and PH, from outside of Haryana. So, if we say this simply, to enjoy the rebated fee, you have to be a resident of Haryana and also belong to SC or PH category. In all other cases the regular fees will apply to you.

It is compulsory that the applicant has to be an Indian citizen with a valid, government-issued proof of the same.
People who are 18 to 38 years old at the time of application are eligible to apply. There might be some relaxation for specific reserved categories. But that may vary from year to year. Refer to the official notification regarding this once it is out. We will also let you know if we come across any information on this.
Being a teacher through the HTET exam is prestigious and rewarding. But the pay scale is different for different posts and levels. The base pay of a PRT is Rs. 35400-112400/- per month and the salary of a TGT (Level 2) is Rs. 47600-151100/-. Also, those recruited for the post of PGT get almost Rs. 44900-142400/- per month.
In the official notification of HTET 2020-21, BSEH also specified the syllabus of the exams for each post. Hence, how many subjects the candidates will have to appear for depends on the posts they have applied for. Below is the summarised syllabus of the HTET exam.
The common subjects for all the posts are— Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, GK, English, Hindi, Child Development and Pedagogy. For levels 2 and 3, viz. posts of Trained Graduate Teachers and Post Graduate Teachers, the additional subject will be the subject which the candidate has applied for. For the Primary Teacher candidates, the additional sections will be Mathematics and Environmental Science.
HTET Exam Pattern depends on the post or the level of the exam. Yet, one thing is common for all the levels— which is the total number of questions will be 150. You have to solve the paper within 2 hours 30 minutes. The major points of the exam pattern are as follows:

The Post Graduate Teachers will have the responsibility to teach students of class IX to class XII.

If the speculations based on the previous years go correctly, the admit card for the HTET exam is supposed to be released in January 2022 by BSEH on their official website. Yet, note that BSEH does not send the admit card via posts. Hence, all the candidates are suggested to keep an eye on the official website for the latest notice. But we will also update you as soon as any new information comes up, so no need to worry.
You have to download the admit card by logging in to your profile on the official website. Remember the registration id and password— even better, save it in the browser. You will also require to carry a valid proof such as Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, or Driving License along with the admit card to the exam hall.

Besides, HTET certificates with life-long validity have also been published online. Also, the answer keys of levels 1, 2, and 3 of HTET 2020-21 had come to availability on 4th January, 2021.

All the images, viz. the photograph, signature and thumb impression of the applicant must be in white background and in .jpg format. The visibility of these images should be at least 60%.
Dimension of the photograph has to be 3.5cm (width) X 4.5cm (height).

A. Usually, the probation period for the teachers recruited through the HTET exam is one year.
A. The vacancies are yet to be released. We expect that more information on this will be available once the official notification is released by the BSEH, which is expected to happen in November or December 2021.
A. To apply for HTET, you require a B.Ed or B.El.Ed. degree. However, if you are in the final year of that course, you can apply. Yet, you have to produce the final mark sheet and certificate of completion at the time of joining.
So, you have just completed your graduation, you have to pursue a B.Ed or B.El.Ed. course first. Hence, you can understand that if you are just in your final year of graduation, without any of the degrees mentioned above, you cannot apply.

A. Before, the certificate issued on qualifying HTET was valid for 7 years. But in recent years the validity has been extended to the lifetime of the candidate, which is quite good news.
A. As it happens, the selection procedure is actually quite simple. There will be a written exam followed by an interview. Yet, note that during the final shortlisting of selected candidates, 80% weightage will be given on your performance in the written exam and 20% on the interview.
A. As this is an offline exam, i.e. pen and paper-based exam, many think that you have to write long answers— but actually, that is not the case here, because all the questions will be MCQ with 1 mark for every correct answer and no negative marking for wrong answers.
