JK SET exam stands for Jammu and Kashmir State Eligibility Test. Previously, this exam is conducted by the Jammu University but it changed to the hands of the University of Kashmir. It is a specially designed exam for the candidates to get a designated role of Lecturer and Assistant Professor job at universities of Jammu and Kashmir. Every state has a separate State Eligibility Test to recruit for their universities. This exam consists of 37 subjects for candidates to choose from based on their interests. In this overview of JK SET 2021, we will see.
The Jammu and Kashmir State Eligibility Test is a part of SET exams which are conducted on each state separately. With the scorecard of the JK SET exam, you can apply for any Professor, lecturer and assistant professor post at any university of Jammu and Kashmir. This exam is almost similar to the UGC NET exam which is conducted nationally. The person who qualified for the UGC NET exam need not apply for this exam.
The JK SET is an offline mode examination that consists of three different papers. You have to attend one general paper which is common for every candidate. Only the candidates who had completed their Masters or PG in aggregated colleges or universities are eligible for the exam.
The notification will be released by the University of Kashmir in which the registration for JK SET will be announced soon.
Notifications on Jammu and Kashmir State Eligibility Test for 2021 is to be released by the University of Kashmir. The eligibility criteria, syllabus, exam pattern, Exam registration dates, Application fee, etc, for the JK SET exam, will be notified in the notification. The registration will begin once the dates have been announced along with the application fee and certificates.
The candidates should start preparing for the exam following last year’s syllabus. Once the dates for the examination are notified, candidates must follow the registration process and other guidelines within a given duration.

Registration fee must be paid while applying for the JK SET exam. During the registration process, give accurate details of the candidate and upload the valid certificates asked. Now continue the payment procedure for applying. The fee structure will be different according to the category.

The application of the candidates who don’t follow/satisfy the eligibility criteria will not be processed. So, please go through the following criteria before applying.
Candidates who have JK SET scorecard can get Assistant professor and lecturer jobs only at the Universities of Jammu and Kashmir. You can also apply for UPS/ public/ government organizations that accept JK SET scorecards for lectureship jobs. However, the job vacancies are divided into category wise.

Only 6% of the total candidates who participated will be selected and divided according to the category percentage mentioned above.
JK SET is somewhat similar to the UGC NET examination. You can apply for the Assistant Professor or Lectureship Jobs at any University in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. You can also apply for other Public/ government organizations that accept SET scorecards for recruiting. The SET candidates can avail these positions of Assistant Professors and can be a Professor in meantime.

The UGC NET exam provides 82 viable options in selecting the subject. Whereas, SET exam offers specific subjects with the language option for the selected states. Hence, the JK SET offers about 32 different subjects with 1 general paper. The general paper is designed to test the basic qualities of candidates like Aptitude, communication, reasoning, data management, etc.

There are 32 Subjects and 1 general paper in the JK SET Examination syllabus in total.
There will be no change in the exam pattern for 2021. The three papers for the JK SET exam are Paper-I/General paper, Paper-II, Paper-III. The total duration for the exam is 5 Hours (300 minutes) which is divided into two sessions. The First session and Second session will be conducted in the forenoon and afternoon respectively. Each question carries 2 marks and will not deduct any marks for incorrect answers. This is an offline mode exam that consists of multiple-choice questions only. The answers should be marked in Optical Mark Reader sheets (OMR) carefully.
The Announcement regarding the Admit Card will be released after the completion of the registration process. Only the eligible candidates who have applied for the SET exam will receive the Admit Card. The candidate will not be allowed into the exam hall in absence of the Admit Card. It can be downloaded on the official website of the University of Kashmir. The candidates were asked to bring certain documents along with the admit card to the examination hall.

Step3: Now log in to the redirected page with the registration details, click submit.
Step4: You can sight your Admit Card on the screen.

You are asked to take multiple Printouts to avoid losing the Admit Card.
The candidate will not be allowed without ID proof that validates the photo of the candidate on the admit card.

Candidates bringing prohibited things such as Tea, coffee, snacks, drinks, alcohol, electronic objects, smart objects, etc. The conduct of malpractice or misbehavior by a candidate may lead to expelling. Books and notes are not allowed inside the examination hall. A candidate who is absent for paper-I shall not be allowed to attend the remaining papers. Candidates bringing Fake ID proofs and documents will be disqualified from the exam hall.
The University of Kashmir will publish the results on its website once the answer key has been released. The Answer key will be published after the end of the examination. You can download the Answer key to check the scores and challenge/ object it. Later on, the finalized answer key will be released on the Website of UOK (University of Kashmir).

Step2: look for the relevant name “ Download Answer key for JK SET 2021” link and click it.
Step3: The subject wise answer key will be displayed on the screen.
Step4: click and download the answer key to look in detail and evaluate your JK SET score.
You can evaluate your papers using the Answer key released by the UOK. Each question from all papers weighs 2marks. The candidate can credit 2marks for every correct question and deduct zero marks as there is no negative mark. Sum it up to get the total score obtained.
Total Score= (number of correct answers in Paper-I x 2 marks) + (no of correct answers in Paper-II x 2 marks) + (no of correct answers in Paper-III x 2 marks)
You can also challenge the answer key if you find any errors in the answer within a given period after releasing the Answer key.
Once the period for challenging the answer key is over, the final answer key will be released.
The announcement regarding the JK SET result has not been released yet. The Result will be published online and available in PDF form. You can check the qualification details in the result published. The UOK will release the E-Certificate in 5 days after the publication of the result.
Qualified candidates can only download the e-certificate online.
The qualified candidates should apply to the University of Kashmir for the scorecard/ qualification card. You have to send a certificate fee of Rs 500 as a Demand Draft with the eligibility certificates asked for verification.

The selection process for UGC NET and SET are similar. According to the University of Kashmir, Only 6% of the total candidates who participated in the exam scores the minimum percentage of qualification gets selected. This required mark percentage is again divided on a category basis. The general candidate must score the minimum mark of 40% and the reserved candidates need 35% of the cutoff score.

The University of Kashmir will announce the registration date for JK SET 2021. The registration can be done online only. The payment process must be done successfully to complete the registration.
Late submission or payment cannot be processed. Cancellation of the registration and requesting a refund is not possible.
