About IBPS & IBPS RRB Scale 2 Officer Exam

Institute of Banking Personnel Selection, also known as IBPS. It is a government autonomous recruitment body. It conducts recruitment examinations through a common recruitment program for all Public Sector Banks. IBPS also conducts IBPS RRB Scale 2 exam.

IBPS completes the recruitment cycle for bank exams for four unique posts in particular

  1. Probationary Officer/ Management Trainee (PO),
  2. Clerk/ Assistant,
  3. Regional Rural Banks (RRB) Officers Scale 1, 2, 3, and Clerk /Office Assistant
  4. Specialist Officer – Law, IT, HR, Management, Agricultural Field Officer, and Marketing.

IBPS RRB Scale 2 exam comprises two stages of selection.

  1. Online Exam and
  2. Interview Round.

There is a single application for these two exams.
Candidates need to clear the online exam successfully. Successful candidates are called for interview rounds. The Nodal Regional Rural Banks would conduct a common recruitment interview with the assistance of the National Bank of Agriculture and Rural Development and Institute of Banking Personnel Selection, in coordination with the authorized authority. Successful candidates will be recruited as Scale 2 officers in Regional Rural Banks.

RRB Scale 2 Exam Dates

IBPS has yet to announce the exam dates for the post of RRB Scale 2 Officer.

RRB Scale 2 notification will be out in June 2021, and all dates related to the exam will be available.

A candidate must fill the required eligibility criteria to be part of the hiring process.

A candidate has to meet the age and education qualification criteria to be able to apply for this recruitment. The following are the eligibility criteria for IBPS RRB Scale 2 Officer.

RRB Scale 2 General Banking Officer (Manager) Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Preference will be given to the candidates having degree in Banking, Finance, Marketing, Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy. Two years as an officer in a Bank or Financial Institution.
RRB Scale 2 Specialist Officers (Manager) Information Technology Officer – Bachelor’s degree from a recognised University in Electronics / Communication / Computer Science / Information Technology or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. 
Desirable: Certificate in ASP, PHP, C++, Java, VB, VC, OCP etc.
One year (in the relevant field)
RRB Scale 2 Specialist Officers (Manager) Chartered Accountant – Certified Associate (CA) from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India One Year as a Chartered Accountant.
RRB Scale 2 Specialist Officers (Manager) Law Officer – Degree from a recognised University in Law or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Two years as an advocate or should have worked as Law Officer in Banks or Financial Institutions for a period of not less than two years

How to apply?

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) will be opening the online registration window of IBPS RRB Scale 2 in June 2021. Candidates can apply for the exam once the notification is out for hiring in June 2021

The application form will be made available at ibps.in. The steps to fill IBPS RRB Scale 2 application form are explained below. The application can be filled only by online method.

Step 1: RRB Scale 2 Registration

  • Visit the official website 
  • Click the link ‘New Registration’ on the home page of IBPS
  • Enter name, phone number, email id, and security code
  • Upon successful registration, a provisional registration number and password are generated
  • The provisional registration number and password are also sent to the registered email ID and password

Step 2: Upload Photo and Signature

  • Candidates must upload their photos, signature, left thumb impression, and handwritten declaration after registering.
  • Signatures in capital letters will be rejected.
  • The impression of the left thumb should be accurately scanned and not smudged.
  • Only English should be written on the handwritten declaration.

Step 3: Fill the detailed application form

This page is divided into three parts, basic details, educational qualification & experience, and preferences. Check details below:

Basic details: In this part, candidates need to fill in the category, nationality, personal details, select exam centers, date of birth, gender, father’s name or mother’s name, address, etc. 

Educational Qualification, Work Experience & Languages: Here, candidates need to enter details of their graduation such as year of passing, college, percentage of marks, grade (if any). They are also required to enter their work experience. Candidates are also required to enter the languages they can read, write and speak.

Preferences: Candidates need to enter the preferences of banks where they wish to work upon selection. SC/ST/Minority candidates can opt for pre-exam training in this part. 

Step 4: Preview of RRB Scale 2 application form

Candidates must preview the application form before the final submission. They can edit the details entered in the application form while validating the same. Once this is complete, candidates need to agree to the terms and conditions and submit their applications. 

Step 5: RRB Scale 2 fee payment 

  • The payment gateway is linked to the application form.
  • Candidates need to follow the steps below for making payment. 
  • Candidates can choose any of the methods to make the payment Debit Cards, Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards/Mobile Wallets, and other methods by supplying the requested information.
  • On successful completion of the transaction, an e-receipt will be generated.
  • Candidates are required to take a printout of the e-receipt and online application form containing fee payment details.
