The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) is an organization in the control of the government. The organization was set up in the year 1992. Sebi Grade A is managed by Govt. The precise date of the establishment of the organization is April 12, 1992. The organization was set up in the accordance with the act named Securities and Exchange Board of India Act, 1992. This functioning of the government works with the aim “to protect and safeguard the interest of investors in securities and to promote the development of, and to regulate the securities market and for the matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.”

The current chairman of the organization is Shri Ajay Tyagi. The Commodity Derivatives Market Regulation Department is responsible for supervising the functioning and operations of Commodity Derivative Segments of Recognized Stock Exchanges/Recognized Clearing Corporations.

SEBI offers a wide range of careers to the people who wanted to be a part of this community and organization.  The organization arranges the exam for the post of assistant managers in respected institutions.

Exam Pattern

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) conducts the exam for various posts through two examinations. The competent must qualify phrase 1 to attend the phrase 2 exams. And the last phrase is the interview. After qualifying for both the exams and the interview competent become eligible to hold the position of assistant manager.  It is an online screening examination. Phase 1 consists of two papers. Out of the two papers, each paper carries 100 marks each. This is a multiple-choice question-based exam.  There will be negative marking for the wrong answers. Each question carries ¼  marks.

All streams that are part of the phrase 1 examination would be general awareness.  Moreover, this subject includes the questions from finances. English language, quantitative aptitude, and test of reasoning.

And lastly, the General Stream that is part of the examination will include subjects such as Commerce, Management, accountancy, costing, finance, Companies Act, statistics.

PHRASE 2

General Stream:

  In addition to this, Phrase 2 also has two examinations. Both the papers carry 100 marks each.

It should be noted that phrase-2 includes subjects such as Legal, information technology, civil and electrical engineering. The stream of official language. It also includes multiple questions related to the specialized subjects related to them.

In the research stream, multiple-choice questions are based on the subjects like economics, statistics, commerce, econometrics, finance.

APPLICATION FEE

  1. Application fees: The payment can be made by using just Credit Cards, Visas, Web Banking, and Money Cards/Portable Wallets.
  2. The method of paying the application charges is on the website.
  3. After the successful payment, an e-Receipt will be produced.
  4.  The candidate can take a Print out if one feels required.
  5. Application charges for the applications differ according to the following categories:

Eligibility for SEBI Grade A

The basic eligibility criterion for appearing in the exam has two conditions namely educational qualification and age limit. Candidates are permitted to apply for the maximum of two streams only for which he/she is eligible to apply, based on their educational qualifications. The detail of the educational criteria and age limit is mentioned below:

Age Limit:

  1. The maximum age limit for appearing in the exam is 30 years. This means applicants born before 01st March 1990 are not eligible for the exam.
  2. There is age relaxation for the reserved categories as per the government norms which is provided in the table below:

Educational Qualification:

 

Stream SEBI Grade A Educational Criteria
General General stream competitors should hold a Masters’s degree in any discipline OR bachelor’s degree in Law. Bookkeeper/Organization Secretary/Sanctioned Monetary Investigator/Cost and Work Bookkeeper.
Legal A candidate must have a bachelor’s degree from the recognized University/ Institute in the stream of Law.
Information technology Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical / Electronics / Electronics And Communication / Information Technology / Computer Science) OR Masters in Computers Application OR Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with a postgraduate qualification (minimum 2 years duration) in Computers / Information Technology.
Civil engineering A candidate should have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university/ institute in the stream of civil engineering.
Electrical engineering A candidate should have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university/ institute in the stream of electrical engineering.
Research Master’s Degree in Statistics / Economics / Commerce / Business Administration (Finance) / Econometrics from a recognized University / Institute.
Official language Master’s Degree in Hindi with English as one of the subjects at Bachelor’s Degree level or Master’s Degree in Sanskrit / English / Economics / Commerce with Hindi as a subject at Bachelor’s Degree level from a recognized University / Institute.

 

 

 

Vacancy for SEBI Grade A

In addition to these 02 seats are reserved for the EWS category.

  3. There are a total of 01 posts reserved for the stream of official language. The post is reserved for the general candidate.
  4. The applicants who are above the poverty line are not qualified for the OBC reservation.
  5. EWS Reservations or Financially More fragile Segments in enlistment is represented by Office Notice No.36039/1/2019 Estt(Res) dated 31.01.2019 of Branch of Workforce and Preparing, Service of Staff, Public Complaints and Annuities, Administration of India.

The process to apply for SEBI Grade A

  • The applicant must log in to the official site. The applicant should enroll themselves on the official website and fill in the details. Log in to the website of https://www.sebi.gov.in/.

SEBI Grade A Salary

  1. The compensation size of the SEBI Grade A Director is INR 28150-1550(4)- 343501750(7)- 46600-EB-1750(4) – 53600-2000(1)- 55600 (17 years).
  2. Without accommodation, the salary per month is Rs 1,07,000 and with accommodation, the compensation is roughly Rs 73,000.
  3. The salary for the first year for SEBI Grade A manager is Rs 28, 150.
  4. For the initial 5 years of administration, there is a yearly addition of INR 1550.
  5. Hence in the fifth year, the salary for the EBI Grade A official would be Rs 34,450. The increment will be Rs 1750.
  6. After seventeen years the basic pay would increase and it will be Rs 55,400.
