The Odisha Public Service Commission has released the notification for various Group A and Group B positions. The OPCS Commission’s roles and responsibilities are divided into a number of categories, including:

OPSC Eligibility Criteria

OPSC has released several vacancies for different posts in the Advertisement No. 08 of 2023 – 24. To be eligible for the post, candidates must fulfill certain eligibility requirements. Candidates fulfilling those eligibility requirements will be eligible to take the 2024 exam.

OPSC Age Limit

The OPSC Government exam appearing candidates must fulfill the age requirement mentioned below. The appearing candidates for the OPSC exam must have reached 21 years of age and must be less than 32 years of age. The required age must be attained as of 1^st January 2023 i.e., the aspirant must not be born before 2^nd January 1985 and not after 1^st January 2002.

The following relaxations are provided to candidates of different categories. Candidates belonging to these categories can avail of these relaxations.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must qualify for the educational qualification essentials to be eligible for the role. The requirement for Academic Qualification is stated below:

• The aspirant needs to have a Bachelor’s Degree. The candidate should have received an undergraduate degree from any UGC or State recognized University.
• The Bachelor’s degree must have at least one of the following subjects – Chemistry, Geology, Botany, Mathematics, Physics, Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry, Statistics, or a degree in Forestry, Agriculture, Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.

Apart from the above-mentioned eligibility conditions, OPSC also has other eligibility conditions:

• The aspirants must be well-versed in writing, speaking, and reading in the regional language Odia, or

• The aspirants need to complete Class VII education from a school or organization that must have recognition by the Government of Odisha, or
• The aspirants must have passed Odia language subject in Middle school, or

• The aspirants must have cleared HC or Equivalent exam in Odia as the medium of examination, or
• The aspirant must have passed Class X or equivalent with Odia as a subject.

Candidates who fail to qualify in the physical standards and physical endurance test or are unable to fulfill any provision shall be disqualified from the purpose of the appointment.

Nationality / Citizenship

The applicant for the OPSC exam must be an Indian Citizen.

OPSC Application

Online applications are accepted for the position. Candidates can submit their applications through the OPSC website. Candidates must ensure they have all necessary identification documents, a working phone number, and an email address before applying. The steps below should be followed by applicants.

Application fees

As per Advertisement Number 08 of 2023 – 24, there will be no examination fee for any category as per the GA & PG Department Notification number – 9897, released on 11^th April 2022.

How To Apply For OPSC Application?

The application process for the recruitment process will start on 17th January 2024. The application process will end on 16th February 2024. When completing the application form, keep the following procedures in mind: On the official website, select the link for the most recent notifications.

• Begin the registration procedure by logging in to the official website.
• Generate user id and password by registering in the portal.
• Complete the application by entering all the necessary details.
• While applying, upload all necessary documents in the format specified.
• Cross-check all the details before submitting the document.
• Complete the application.

Admit Card

OPSC has announced the OPSC Admit Card for the Odisha Civil Service Prelims Exam 2024. The admit card for the position of Assistant Horticulture Officer, Geologist, Assistant Agriculture Officer, Post Graduate Teacher, Civil Judge, Odisha Judiciary Service, and Veterinary Assistant Surgeon has been made available on the OPSC website. Using their login information, candidates can get the OPSC AHO admission card 2024 on the official website. Candidates can download their admit card by clicking on the link.

How to Download OPSC Admit Card 2024:

• Visit the Odisha Public Service Commission.
• Candidates will find the “Download Admission Certificate” popup link on the home page.
• Click on the ‘Download Admission Certificate button, and it will redirect you to the new page
• Enter your Registration Number and Date of Birth to download your OPSC Admit Card 2024.
• Finally, Download the link to the Admit Card from the website and save it to carry to the exam hall.

The Admit Card is your Hall Ticket to enter the Examination Hall. Besides, you must carry one of your valid IDs in original.

Admit Card Details

 Several important details are present on the OPSC 2024 admit card. The details comprise of

OPSC Exam Center

Candidates can choose the exam center when filling out the application form. The place of examination decided by the conducting body is Cuttack. The exam will also take place in the following regions:

• Berhampur
• Sambalpur

The exact zone and venue address of the exam will be mentioned in the Admit Card. Candidates must check their admit cards once they are out for such details. Candidates must think and fill in the exam center detail correctly because it can not be altered after submission of the form.

OPSC Exam Pattern

The exam pattern of the OPSC exam is disclosed by the commission along with the syllabus. OPSC conducts the written exam to filter the candidates for the further selection procedure. But before going for the preparation for the exam, aspirants make sure they have gone through the detailed OPSC exam pattern. The Exam Conducting Body sets question papers for all the exams in the English language only. The OPSC Commission provides the candidates with a choice of writing their answers in English or Odia only.  OPSC asks the aspirants to specify their preferred optional subjects in the online form itself. Therefore, when the candidates are selecting their respective languages, they must choose only one language.  More than one language will not be allowed in the exam. OPSC conducts the exam in three stages that are:

• Preliminary Examination
• Mains Examination
• Interview

OPSC Prelims Exam Pattern:

The OPSC preliminary examination comprises General Studies Paper -I, and General Studies Paper II. General Studies papers contain the objective type of questions. Both the exam papers hold a weightage of 200 marks. The instruction for all the candidates is to complete the exam within the given time which is two hours. OPSC Mains Exam Pattern

The OPSC Mains examination comprises five mandatory papers and four optional papers. All the candidates have to select two optional subjects along with the compulsory papers. The mains exam covers nine subjects comprising mandatory papers and optional exam papers. So, here is the exam pattern for the mains exam. Check the table given below:

OPSC Interview

Candidates who meet the cutoff for the main exam will receive an invitation to a personality test (interview). The personality test carries a maximum score of 200.

The following qualities of the applicants are to be evaluated during the personality test:

• Intellectual talent
• Social behaviors
• Moral and intellectual integrity, etc.

On the basis of the combined scores from the main exam and personality test, the final list of chosen candidates is created.

OPSC Syllabus

OPSC is considered to be one of the toughest entrance tests in India as it bears good competition. Every exam OPSC recruitment has a different syllabus for the Government posts. Candidates applying for the respective exams have to score the minimum or above cutoff marks in each stage. After that, they will get a job in their required field. OPSC Result and Cutoffs

The Odisha Public Service Commission will announce the results of the OPSC Examination on its website. Candidates can simply check their results by going to the official website. The OPSC examination cut-off will be announced in three stages: Preliminary, Main, and Interview. Only once candidates pass the minimal cut-off requirements will they be shortlisted for the positions.

To get the scorecard of the result, candidates will need their Login ID and password. After that, the aspirant will be able to see their scores. As per the general timeline of OPSC, after the exams, the candidate can expect the OPSC Result to be out in one or two months. After that, the Commission will also release the merit list, and it will also include the roll numbers of the selected aspirants for the next stage. OPSC will upload the result in PDF form and the candidate can download and print.

OPSC Results 2024

OPSC will announce the OPSC results for Civil Services for various Group A and Group B posts such as the Odisha Administrative Services (OAS), Odisha Police Service (OPS), Odisha Finance Service (OFS), Odisha Cooperative Service (ARCS/AGCS), Odisha Revenue Service, and Odisha Taxation & Accounts Service.

OPSC Cutoffs 2024

Every year, a department of the Odisha Public Service Commission decides the cut-off marks of the OPSC exam. Above all, OPSC conducts the recruitment exam of aspirants in various roles in the Department of Government. OPSC determines the cut-off marks for the OPSC exam, which shows whether the student is eligible for further rounds or not. After the completion of all the phases of the OPSC exam 2024, the cut-off marks will be out soon. Therefore, Candidates who are going to appear for the exam can download cut-off marks from the official website. Follow the given below step-wise process to download the OPSC cut-off marks:

• Open the official website of OPSC.
• Click the “Results” tab that appears beneath the candidate’s section now.
• You will be redirected to a completely separate page where you can find the cut-off scores and solution manuals for various exams.
• Click on the OPSC Cut-off Marks and Answer Key now by scrolling down.
• Select the type of OPSC exam you have applied for and click ok.
• The OPSC Cut-off markings will be shown on the screen in pdf format. The cut-offs for the various community categories are present in the PDF.
• Save the pdf file on your computer for later use.

The result will include the scorecards of the candidates along with the corresponding cut-offs. However, only the shortlisted candidates will appear for the next rounds after clearing the first round. The candidates who will score above the cut-off marks will appear for the next phase. OPSC Salary 2024

The commission provides a lucrative salary to its employees. The advertisement released for Group A and Group B posts specifies the pay scale which will be provided to the hired candidates. Apart from the OPSC salary, the employees are also entitled to Dearness allowance and various other allowances as and when sanctioned by the Government of Odisha. OPSC is a competitive exam organized by the Government of Odisha. The exam faces a lot of competition each year.
