Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) is a constitutional body. The government of India established JKPSC under articles 128 and 133. The primary purpose of JKPSC is to conduct civil service exams to recruit candidates for the different government posts in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir.
It is an autonomous body. Hence, it selects the candidates based on a merit list and reservations rights. JKPSC aims to choose the most capable and worthy candidates for operating the civil services and posts. Moreover, candidates should perform other functions assigned to the Commission by the mandate of the Constitution.
The state-level governing body exercises utmost impartiality, objectivity, and efficiency in accomplishing its tasks. In addition, it works in a time-bound manner and transparently, using technological innovations wherever feasible.
JKPSC conducts J & K Combined Services Competitive Examination (KAS) to recruit capable and deserving candidates. The exam takes place once a year in Jammu and Kashmir. The combined competitive exam recruits candidates in these departments:

The selection of the candidates is based on their overall performance in written tests – Prelims and Mains, and interview round. The JKPSC will select the final candidates for the different posts only after the interview round. The authority will publish a list of all the qualifying candidates on their official website. Moreover, the prelim exam is objective-based, but the Mains exam is both objective and descriptive. Additionally, the preliminary exam is likely to be held on 24 October 2021.

Candidates must check eligibility criteria before they apply. JKPSC will not consider any ineligible candidate. Moreover, the authority has the right to cancel the candidature if found ineligible at any time of the recruitment process.

The candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfill all the eligibility conditions for admission to the Examination. However, suppose during any exam stage that they do not meet any of the eligibility conditions. In that case, JKPSC will cancel the candidature for the examination.

This is the final round of the recruitment process. After successfully qualifying for the interview round, the candidate will become eligible for a government post in Jammu and Kashmir. However, candidates must prepare themselves for this round as this is a significant round.
This round consists of 250 marks.
The JKPSC Prelim exam is going to be held on 24 October 2021. Thus, the admit card will be released in the second week of October 2021.
Candidates can download their admit cards from the official website of JKPSC. All the details of the Prelim exam will be present on their admit card.
Admit card is an essential document. Without it, the candidate will not be able to sit for the exam. Furthermore, no correction will be allowed once the admit card is issued. The JKPSC exam consists of three levels – Prelims, Mains, and Interview. After the prelims result, all the selected candidates will become eligible for the mains exam. Similarly, after the mains result, JKPSC releases the merit list of all the qualifying candidates. Hence, only the shortlisted candidate will be called for the interview round.
The interview round is the last stage in the JKPSC recruitment. Thus, as this round is completed, the JKPSC will announce the final list of selected candidates on their official website.
JKPSC prepares the merit list of all the qualifying candidates. After this, all the selected candidates are posted at different positions in Jammu and Kashmir. After that, the commission will decide on the allotment of services and do it as soon as possible once the result gets announced.

The Cut-off list is the basis on which JKPSC selects candidates for the next stage. The candidate must score between 250-300 in the prelim exam. Only then will they be able to give the mains exam.
JKPSC declares the result in the form of a cut-off list. A separate cut-off list is published for the Prelims and Mains exam. Hence, this list is used to select candidates for the final round of recruitment, i.e., interview/personality test. Thus, candidates must score more or equal to the cut-off list to qualify for the interview round. The interview round is crucial. A: The JKPSC will conduct the exam in the following locations:
A: The maximum marks for the prelim exam are 400 – 200 for each Paper I and Paper-II.
A: As per authority guidelines, for the JKPSC exam, you must have your admit card and ID proof. If, in any case, you do not have your admit card, you will not be allowed to give the exam.
