About SBI & SBI PO Exam 

The State Bank of India, India’s largest public sector bank, was established on July 1, 1955. It accepts applications for SBI PO employment as well as other departmental openings.

Every year, the State Bank of India conducts the PO exam to select qualified individuals for the position of PO from a large pool of applicants. It is one of the most highly coveted SBI tests in the country.

The selection procedure will be divided into three stages: preliminary exams, main exams, and interviews. To be selected as a PO in SBI branches, candidates must pass all three phases.

SBI PO Recruitment Process

Phase I: Prelims exam, which consists of 100 multiple-choice questions. It’s only a qualifying test. 

Phase II: Candidates numbering ten times (approx.) the numbers of vacancies in each category will be short-listed for the Main Examination from the top of the above merit list. Candidates who qualify prelims exam and get short-listed will need to appear in the mains exam. In the mains exam candidate needs to attempt 200 multiple choice questions and an English language descriptive test.   

Phase III: Candidates will be called for a group discussion and interview if their number equals or exceeds three times (approximately) the number of vacancies in each category. The main exam, group discussion, and interview will all be given 100 percent weighting. Candidates will be assigned to banks based on their merit.

SBI PO Exam Dates

Along with its official notification, the State Bank of India (SBI) will release the Exam Dates for SBI PO 2021 exam. As a result, candidates should check the page regularly to stay up to date on the PO 2021 Exam.

For PO selection, there will be two exams. In addition, preliminary and main exams, as well as a descriptive test.

SBI PO Eligibility Criteria 

A candidate must meet the below-mentioned criteria to become a PO with the State Bank of India. 

Nationality – The candidate must be an Indian citizen. 

Qualification – Any graduate or equivalent from a recognized university can apply for the PO post in SBI. 

Age – Minimum: 21 years Maximum: 30 years, i.e., A candidate must have been born not earlier than 02.04.1990 and no later than 01.04.1999 (both dates inclusive).

SBI PO Salary

With four advance increments, the starting basic pay will be Rs. Rs.27,620/-. Candidates will be eligible for a variety of allowances and other benefits in addition to the basic income. Depending on the location of posting and other considerations, the total in-hand income will range from Rs. 40000 to Rs. 45000.

How to apply for SBI PO?

The application form is available at SBI Website. The steps to fill SBI PO application form are explained below. Application can be filled only by online method.

Step 1: SBI PO Registration

  • Visit the official website of SBI.
  • Click the link ‘New Registration’ on the home page of SBI Career.
  • Enter name, phone number, email id, and security code
  • Upon successful registration, a provisional registration number and password gets generated.
  • The provisional registration number and password are also sent to the registered email ID and password.

Step 2: Upload Photo and Signature

  • Post-registration, candidates need to upload the photograph, signature, and left thumb impression.
  • Signature in capital letters will not be accepted. 
  • The left thumb impression should be properly scanned and not smudged.

Step 3: Fill the detailed application form

This page is divided into three parts, basic details, educational qualification & experience, and preferences. Check details below:

Basic details: In this part, candidates need to fill in the category, nationality, personal information, select exam centers, date of birth, gender, father’s name or mother’s name, address, etc. 

Educational Qualification, Work Experience & Languages: Here, candidates need to enter details of their graduation such as year of passing, college, percentage of marks, grade (if any). They are also required to enter their work experience. Candidates are also required to enter the languages they can read, write and speak.

Preferences: Candidates need to enter the preferences of banks where they wish to work upon selection. SC/ST/Minority candidates can opt for pre-exam training in this part. 

Step 4: Preview of SBI PO application form

Candidates must preview the application form before the final submission. Then, they can edit the details entered in the application form while validating the same. Once this is complete, candidates need to agree to the terms and conditions and submit their applications. 

Step 5: SBI PO fee payment 

  • The application form is integrated with the payment gateway. Candidates need to follow the steps below for making payment. 
  • The payment can be made by using Debit Cards, Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards/ Mobile Wallets by providing information as asked.
  • On successful completion of the transaction, an e-receipt will be generated.
  • Candidates are required to take a printout of the e-receipt and online application form containing fee payment details.

Ans. Yes, candidates must carry the original and a copy of the photo ID Card and the admit card.
