NTSE Exam 2023 (National Talent Search Examination) is an Indian national scholarship program. This program is an annual national-level scholarship exam in India that identifies and recognizes students with exceptional intellect and academic ability. The NTSE aims to provide scholarships to students interested in pursuing further science or social studies education. Students can continue their studies in their chosen fields through scholarships. Moreover, students will be given NTSE scholarships depending on their total achievement in both stages of the examination.

NTSE

NTSE is conducted by the National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT) for students in 10th grade. Every year, around 50 lakh students apply for this program. However, around 2000 students receive the scholarship. This examination covers Social Science, Science, Medicine, Engineering, Management, and Law.

Students of Indian nationality are eligible to participate in the program. It aids kids in expanding their mental abilities and sharpening their wits. Since NCERT conducts the program to acknowledge bright students by granting a monthly scholarship, this aid is available up to the Ph.D. level for degrees in Social Sciences, Basic Sciences, and Commerce. NTSE Scholarship Amount

As stated, the Central Government provides financial assistance to NTSE scholars during their schooling. For each level of education, the Government offers around 2000 scholarships. These are the stages:

  • A monthly scholarship of Rs.2000 to Undergraduates (UG) and postgraduates (PG).

How to Register for NTSE Exam?

Although, applicants can fill out an application online or offline. Different states will release the application form independently. Thus, the deadline for applying varies from state to state. Also, for Indian students studying in their native country versus Indian students studying abroad, the application process differs. The specifics are listed below.

Students from India

  • Firstly, Candidates must first take the application form from the NCERT website.
  • After completing all fields, the candidate must have the form signed by their school’s principal.
  • Then, before the deadline, submit the application form to the State Liaison Officer.

Indian Students Studying in the United States

  • Candidates can apply for Stage 2 of NTSE right away.
  • It will be necessary to get the application form from the website.
  • The completed application must have a photocopy of the Stage 1 exam mark sheet.

How to Apply for the NTSE Exam?

Following are the steps/procedure to apply for the NTSE exam –

1: Registration and Downloading of Application Form

  • Further, Candidates must enter information such as their name, date of birth, phone number, email address, educational qualification, and so on.

Candidates may obtain an Application Form through the Liaison Officer’s office as well.

2: Steps to Fill out the Application form

The authorities suggest applicants fill out the NTSE application form manually.

  • Basic information, address, category, and educational information, among other things.
  • In the specified section, candidates must attach their photos and signature.

– Also, the applicant must get the application form NTSE attested by their Principal.

– Applicant must pay the application cost set by the state/UT.

– Candidates can mail their Application Forms to the Liaison Office or in person at the liaison officer’s address.

NTSE Exam Application Fees

The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) does not charge an application fee for the NTSE Exam. The National Level Examination will not require candidates to pay an entry fee. However, the state government can charge a fee for students who apply for the NTSE. Therefore, the respective States and UT determine the Aspirant’s application fees.

NTSE Exam Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who want to sit for the scholarship exam must meet the NCERT’s qualifying requirements. In addition, each State and UT lists its own NTSE Eligibility Criteria, including academic qualifications, age restrictions, and minimum qualifying marks. After qualifying for the NTSE Exam 2024, only candidates who meet the eligibility criteria will get the scholarship. Age

The NTSE Stage I examination has an upper age limit of 18 years for Indian candidates and students of Indian origin studying abroad. Therefore, a candidate must be below 18 years to be eligible for NTSE 2024.

Educational Qualification

All the aspirants must be studying in the 10th standard of a government or private school in India. To be eligible for the NTSE 2024 exam, the candidate must achieve a minimum of 60% aggregate marks or an equivalent grade in each academic year. However, the minimum qualifying marks are different for the reserved category candidates. Nationality / Citizenship

Candidates who are preparing for the NTSE 2024 must be citizens of India. All Indian citizens in the 10th grade in any Indian or international school are eligible to apply. Indian students studying abroad can take the NTSE stage 2 exam right away.

NTSE Admit Card

Candidates can have the NTSE Admit Card around a week before from the NCERT or the Education Department for the Stage-1 exam. The NCERT will provide the Stage-2 admit card on its official website before the Stage-2 exam. Only those applicants who passed the Stage-1 examination will get the Stage-2 admission card. Candidates can download the NTSE 2024 Admit Card by logging in using their login credentials.

Admit Card Details

Admit cards for the NTSE 2024 are not released yet. All eligible candidates need to download the admit card before the examination. The NCERT will declare an official notice regarding the date of the Stage-1 and Stage-2 exams. The NTSE Admit Card has a lot of information on it. NTSE 2024 Admit Card will have Candidate’s Name, Photograph, Test Center, Signature, Roll Number, Address, and Test Schedule.

After successfully downloading the Admit Card, a candidate needs to check whether the details printed on the Admit Card are correct or not. If the NTSE 2024 Examination admit cards are not accessible on the website, the applicant should contact the NCERT.

How to download the NTSE Admit Card?

The NTSE 2024 admit card will be available three weeks before the exam. Candidates who have successfully applied will get the NTSE Admit Card 2024. To obtain the NTSE 2024 admit card from the official website, follow the processes outlined below:

  • First, the candidate needs to go to the official website of NCERT.
  • Then, the candidate needs to find the ‘NTSE 2024 Admit Card’ on the website.
  • The candidate must click the Admit Card link and enter his/ her “Application Number” and “Date of Birth” in the appropriate space.

NTSE Exam Centres

NTSE 2024 exam centers will be declared by NCERT with official notification. There are two stages in the exam. Stage 1 is expected to be conducted in the schools of the candidates. Therefore, the candidates need not go anywhere for the Stage 1 exam. However, the stage 2 exam will be in the mentioned exam centers declared by the NCERT. NTSE Exam Pattern

Students should know the NTSE exam paper pattern for acing the exam. The NTSE 2024 exam pattern is similar for both stages. However, the difficulty level in Stage 2 is higher than the Stage 1. Here are all the details related to the NTSE exam pattern mentioned here.

The examination has multiple-choice questions. For both stage 1 and stage 2, the NTSE exam pattern is the same. The Mental Ability Test (MAT) assesses students’ problem-solving and thinking abilities. Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) consists of science, political science, maths, history, geography, and economics questions. The exam patterns of both Stages 1 & 2 are as follows.

NTSE 2024 Stage-1

The appropriate State/UT authorities conduct Stage-1 at the state/UT level. Applicant must answer the paper in one of two languages: English or Hindi. At this point, each correct answer receives one mark, and there is no negative marking. The paper has two sections: The Mental Ability Test (MAT) is the first part of the test. This section offers issues that require analytical and logical reasoning. This portion assesses the candidate’s evaluating, thinking, discriminating, and visualizing abilities. This section has a total of 100 questions to be answered. The Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) is the second part of the test. There are 100 questions in this section from Social Science, Mathematics, Science, and English Language. This component assesses the student’s ability to read, interpret, evaluate, and have general knowledge of the subjects.

NTSE 2024 Stage 2

The NTSE Stage 2 is held nationally when students shortlisted from Stage-I (State-level) exams compete for a scholarship. Like in Stage 1, the paper is in two parts: MAT and SAT. The MAT and the SAT will have 100 questions (Maths: 20, Science: 40, Social Science: 40). Both examinations take 2 hours or 120 minutes to complete. There are no negative points. Only applicants who pass both of the papers will be considered for merit. The qualified will be chosen based on cumulative MAT and SAT scores, and judged on merit.

NTSE Syllabus 2024

As explained before, the NCERT conducts NTSE to find the most intelligent individuals from the country. As the program is for 10th students, most of the NTSE Syllabus is from Social Science, Science, and Mathematics. Since there are two different stages, the syllabus/ topic is mentioned accordingly.

NTSE Exam Result

NTSE 2024 results and cutoffs will be available on the official website of the NCERT. Once the exam is over, the candidate can go to that website and check the individual results. After successfully conducting the NTSE Stage 1 exam, the NCERT will publish the result. After that, the qualified students will take the NTSE Stage 2 exam. Students who qualify in both stages and score minimum marks will be selected as per their merit.

NTSE Result

NTSE 2024 is not conducted this year. Once the exam is conducted, the result will be published after the exam. There are two stages of the exam. Hence, the final merit list will be published after conducting both stages.

How to check the result?

To check the final result, students must follow the below instructions.

  1. First, students need to visit the official website of NCERT.
  2. There will be a section for the “NTSE 2024”. Candidates need to click on it.
  3. Candidates can find the link to the “NTSE Result 2024”.
  4. They need to click the same to see the complete list of NTSE 2024 results. A merit list from the NTSE result 2024 will be available.
  5. Finally, qualified students can search for their name or roll number in the list.

NTSE Cutoffs

The Cut-Off marks are the minimum marks students must get to pass the exam. The individual states and UTs will announce the cut-off marks for the Stage 1 exam. NCERT will announce the final merit list mark after completing the Stage 2 examination. The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) will release category and subject-specific cut-off marks.
