The KVPY Scholar badge is highly esteemed and offers direct admission to prestigious higher educational institutes such as IISc and various IISERs. It also provides an opportunity to gain admission to IIT-Hyderabad, which is renowned for computer science. Upon completing KVPY, you will receive a stipend on a monthly and yearly basis during your basic science course, which can be either a 3-year or 5-year integrated course. Further details regarding the scholarship amount are given in the subsequent section below.
For those aspiring to appear for JEE, the KVPY exam provides an excellent opportunity to understand concepts and apply the logic necessary to crack JEE Main and JEE Advanced. It also reduces the pressure of preparing for the 12th board or JEE/NEET. Qualifying for KVPY indicates that you are already qualified to study in Indian higher education institutions.
The KVPY exam is challenging, even more so than JEE Main. Achieving the status of a KVPY fellow (scholar) demonstrates a high level of talent and hard work. Additionally, KVPY scholars enjoy free entry to all national libraries in the country and can attend all science camps.
Regardless of whether you are selected for the KVPY fellowship or not, qualifying and appearing for interviews at a young age will prove beneficial in the future.
As a science enthusiast, clearing KVPY (SA) with a good rank in class 11th will provide an opportunity to gain admission to India’s premier institute, IISc. If you miss the KVPY exam in class 11th or want to improve your rank, you can attempt KVPY (SX) in class 12th and reapply for KVPY (SB) in the first year of your basic studies if necessary. The science course options include B.Sc./B.Stat/B.S./B.Math.
The eligibility for KVPY Fellowship/scholarship is determined by the performance of candidates in aptitude tests and interviews. The authority responsible for selection will grant the scholarship to those who have been selected. Below, we have provided information regarding the monetary rewards that are bestowed upon the recipients of KVPY scholarships.
