The last date of submission was December 31, 2020. But due to the panchayat elections in Himachal Pradesh, the recruitment process was postponed. Therefore, candidates have to take care that they do not indulge in the use of any banned drugs and other narcotic items if they wish to qualify as a Constable in the HP Police department under the new recruitment rules. Moreover, this decision of dope test will also help in sorting out the undeserving candidates who indulge in performance-enhancing drugs during the Physical Efficiency Test (PET). PET is an important part of the recruitment process for the police constable post.

Furthermore, as reported, the selection of constables to fill up vacancies in the Police department will be done according to the district-wise population. The new HP Police Department Recruitment Rules, 2021 will take effect after they are published in Government gazettes.
