About UKSSSC

UKSSSC stands for Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission. It is a government body. UKSSSC hires students for Government jobs by taking various exams. It was formed in 2014.

Powers and Duties of UKSSSC:

  • UKSSSC prepares the guidelines on matters of hiring.
  • It takes examinations and interviews to select students.
  • UKSSSC also invite experts and appoint examiners.
  • It performs other duties that the government prescribes.

UKSSSC Notification and News

UKSSSC has started hiring again with the ease of lockdown. It has recently released many hiring notifications.

The application mode will be online. Students need to create an account on UKSSSC’s official website to fill the form.

There will be direct recruitment (60%) for Assistant teachers as well as departmental. (10%)

Previously, UKSSSC were hiring students for:

UKSSSC Assistant Teacher LT:

The notification for this exam was initially announced on 13th October 2020. However, the exam, which was supposed to take place in April got postponed due to Covid-19. So, UKSSSC declared the CTET results after some delay.

UKSSSC also announced a six months age relaxation due to Covid-19. So, they republished the notification and the revised dates are:

Eligibility Criteria OF UKSSSC

FOR GROUP-C, INTER-LEVEL POSTS of UKSSSC:

Educational Qualification

  1. To apply for Monitoring Assistant/Co-operative Supervisor/Environmental Supervisor, Students need to complete high school (12th) with science as the main subject.
  2. For Lab Assistants:
    • Students applying to Uttarakhand Environment Protection and Pollution Control Board need to pass high school (12th) with science as the main subject.
    • To apply for lab assistant in Physics/Chemistry/Zoology/Botany, students need to graduate with any of the four subjects as the main subject. They should have 50% marks.
  1. To apply as a Photographer, Students need an undergraduate degree in Physics with 50% marks.
  2. Students wishing to apply as a Scientific Assistant should have an undergraduate degree in Biology/Botany/Biochemistry/Environment.
  3. To apply as a Pharmacist, Students should have a diploma in Pharmacy. They need to work with the Pharmacy Council of Uttarakhand with high proficiency in Hindi. In addition, students need to pass high school with Life Science. The school should be linked to the Central or State board.
  4. To apply as an Alchemist, Students need an undergraduate degree in Chemistry. They also need a minimum experience of two years as an Alchemist.
  5. To apply as a Chemist, Students need a graduate degree in Chemistry.

FOR DRAFTSMAN AND SURVEYOR of UKSSSC:

Educational Qualification
  1. Students applying for the post of Draftsman (Directorate of Culture) need to pass the 10th standard. They should also have a degree or diploma in Civil Engineering/Draftsman (Civil)/ Architecture.
  2. To apply for the post of Draftsman (Forest Department), students need a degree in Draftsman or a diploma in Civil Engineering.
  3. Students applying for the post of Draftsman (Agriculture Department) need to meet one of the following criteria:
    • Need to pass 10th grade and have a certificate in Draftsman from Roorkee University.
    • They need to have a certificate in Draftsman from Uttarakhand State Technical Education Council.
    • Need a certificate in Draftsman from Banaras Hindu University.
    • Need to have a diploma in Architecture from Government Art College, Lucknow.
    • They need a diploma in Civil Engineering from Uttarakhand State Technical Education Council.
    • Need a diploma in Civil Engineering from any Government recognized institute/university.
    • Need to have a certificate in Draftsman from Uttarakhand Skill Development Program.
  1. Students applying for Draftsman (Nagar Nigam and Nagar Palika) need to pass the 12th standard. They also need to have either a diploma or ITI in Draftsman.
  2. For the post of Surveyor (Forest Department), students need a two-year diploma in Surveying subject or a diploma in Civil Engineering.
 
Age Limit Criteria

The age limit for the Draftsman and Surveyor posts is 18 years to 42 years.

FOR UKSSSC JAIL GUARDS:

Physical Requirements:

For Men:

  • Should have a minimum height of 165cm. (5’5’’)
  • Need to have a minimum weight of 55kgs.
  • Chest width should be at least 78.8cm (with extension: 83.8)
  • They should have 6/6 vision on both eyes.

For Women:

  • Should have a minimum height of 152cm (around 5’1’’)
  • Need to have a minimum weight of 45kgs.
  • They should also have 6/6 vision on both eyes.

 

For Reserved Students:

Men:

  • Height should be160cm (5’3’’) for Hill Candidates and 157.5cm (5’2’’) for SC/ST students.
  • The weight and vision requirements are the same as that of the general students.
  • The chest should be at least 76.3cm (with an extension of 81.3cm) for all reserved students.

Women:

  • Height should be at least 147cm. This applies to all reserved candidates.
  • The weight and vision requirements are the same as that of the general candidates.
Educational Qualification

Students should have at least passed 12th grade with proficiency in written Hindi in Devnagiri.

Age Limit Criteria

The age limit for men, women and reserved students are from 21 years to 35 years.

 

FOR VILLAGE REGISTRARS AND ACCOUNTANTS OF UKSSSC:

Physical Requirements:
For Village Registrar:

Men

  • Height should be at least 167cm.
  • The chest should be at least 84 cm (with an extension: 89cm).

Women

  • Height should be at least 152cm. (5’1’’)

Reserved students will have 5cm relaxation in height (162cm) for both men and women. Men will also get a chest relaxation of 5cm (79cm).

For Accountants OF UKSSSC:

Men

  • Height should be at least 167cm.
  • The chest should be at least 84 cm (with an extension: 89cm).

Women

  • Height should be at least 152cm. (5’1’’)

For accountants, it is from 21 years to 35 years. (Applicable for men, women and reserved candidates)

 

FOR ASSISTANT TEACHERS LT OF UKSSSC:

Educational Qualification

Students should have a B. ED degree or an equivalent qualification.

Note- The requirement for the B. ED degree has been removed for the Art teachers in the recent correction. So, candidates without a degree can also apply now.

Age Limit Criteria

The age limit for men, women and reserved candidates is 21 years to 42 years.

Other Criteria
  • Students will have to strictly follow the rules and regulations given on the Official website of UKSSSC while filling application form.
  • Students should fill their application forms patiently. UKSSSC does not allow students to edit the information after submission of application fees. If students give wrong information, they will have to cancel the form and refill it again along with the fee. If candidates do not correct their information, then there will be problems in the written examinations.
  • Students will be disqualified if it’s found that the student has given false information on the application form.

There are 1431 vacancies in total for the position of Assistant teacher. The divisions are done location wise. The sub-divisions are done position and recruitment wise. Here the word, “General” indicates people from all castes who are not women.

Exam Pattern of UKSSSC

For Junior Engineer (JE):

The exam will have 100 questions. They will be based on technical knowledge up to the diploma level in Civil Engineering. Each question will carry a mark. Apart from this, there will be three more exams based on General Knowledge, Hindi and General Studies.

There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer. The time allotted will be two hours. It will be an offline MCQ based exam. The minimum qualifying marks is 45/100 for general candidates and 35/100 for minority candidates.

For:

  • Data Entry Operator
  • Record Keeper
  • Telephone Operator
  • Jail Guard

There will be three sections. These sections are General Knowledge (GK), Hindi and General Studies. There will be 100 questions in each exam with a mark allotted to each question. Therefore, the total marks will be 100. The time duration will be two hours.

There will be negative marking in all these exams (0.25 marks). The cut off marks are the same as that of the Junior Engineer. It will be MCQ based.

For Forest Inspector:

In addition to the above pattern, this exam has an extra quantitative paper which has 100 marks for 100 questions. The time duration will be two hours. Students can also choose English as a language paper instead of Hindi for this exam.

Moreover, there will be a physical measurement and physical efficiency test.

 

For Junior Assistant/Stenographer:

The exam pattern for the junior assistant is given in a table format. The time will be one hour.

There will be a personal interview round after the written exam.

For Livestock Dissemination Officer:

It will be objective-based. The difficulty of the questions will be of high school level. There will be only one exam of 100 marks. The total time given will be two hours. There will be a negative marking for each wrong question of 0.25.

The qualifying marks are similar to that of the previous positions mentioned here (45% for general and 35% for OBC).

For Accountant (Account Clerk):

The questions will be based on Commerce subjects. There will be 100 questions and marks will be 100.

For Assistant Teachers (LT):

The question paper will be MCQ based and have 100 marks. The time given will be two hours. The board will ask questions on teaching aptitude, the concerned subject and reasoning. There will be a personal interview after the written exam.

For Group-C, inter-level recruitment:

This paper is also MCQ based. The difficulty of the questions will be of high school level (with a science background). It will be for two hours.

For Draftsman/Surveyor:

It will be MCQ based. The difficulty of the questions will be of diploma/under-graduation level. The exam will be for two hours. There will be a negative marking for each wrong question of 0.25.

 

Admit Card

UKSSSC has released the admit card for the Assistant Teacher’s post. The exam date is 8th August 2021. The board releases the admit card 10 days before the exam date. Students can download the admit card from the official website of UKSSSC.

Students will have to log in with their given credentials to download the admit card.

How to Apply?

  • Firstly, one has to open the official website of UKSSSC.
  • Then one has to visit the notification corner on the site and click on the exam they want to apply for.
  • After clicking on the “apply” button, one has to fill in all the necessary details in the registration form. Details like:

-name

-father’s name

-mother’s name

-Date of Birth

-Educational Qualification

Etc.

  • One has to upload the necessary documents where ever it’s necessary. Documents like ID proof, photograph and signature are generally asked.
  • They also have to pay any fee if applicable.
  • Once done, one will get a chance to verify their details. After that, one has to click on the “submit” button.
  • A temporary account will be created on the website. One can log in using the credentials stated by the board. (Email ID or registration number)
  • To download the admit card or check the merit list, one has to log in to his account on the portal.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What are the upcoming exams of UKSSSC?

There are no upcoming exams as of now. The last exam held was that of the Assistant teacher’s post on 8th August 2021.  One can check the official website for more details and notifications.

 

Q. Can I rectify any mistake in the registration form?

No. UKSSSC does not allow correction in the registration form once it’s submitted. So, one has to be very careful while filling the form. UKSSSC will cancel the form if a mistake is found.

 

Q. I paid the fees but didn’t receive the receipt?

One has to wait for 48 hours. Due to technical issues, the fee might not get deposited. If one does not get the receipt within 48 hours then they have to repay the fee again. When the commission receives the initial fee, then the extra money will automatically be refunded.

 

Q. What if I forgot to mention my employment details in the application form?

It won’t be an issue. Giving employment details is not mandatory.
