About SBI & SBI SO Exam 

The State Bank of India conducts the SBI SO exam to select officers in various specialist categories. It welcomes applications for expert officer (SO) recruitment as per vacancies in other departments.

Mostly, recruitment is done for managerial positions. Notifications for senior-level recruiting, on the other hand, are being issued. Recruitment is now underway for several functions.

In most circumstances, recruiting is in two phases: a private discussion follows an online exam and a personal interview; however, in some cases, shortlisting of candidates.

SBI completes the recruitment process for Specialist Officer in two phases.

Phase I: Online written Test, which has multiple-choice questions, is divided into two parts. 

(I) General Aptitude Test 

(II) Professional Knowledge Test

General Aptitude Test is only a qualifying test, whereas who will give professional Knowledge Test marks weightage in the final selection.  

Phase II: The successful candidates who cleared the Written Test will be called for an interview. The final selection will be made on an overall score of the Written Test and interview. The average weightage consists of 70% of the written Test and 30% to interview. 

 

SBI SO Notifications/News

The State Bank of India (SBI) has issued an official SO Recruitment 2021 Notification for the recruitment of Specialist Officers. A total of 82 job openings have been posted for positions such as Manager (Risk Management), Manager (Credit Analyst), and others. Candidates must review all of the job posting details and download the notification pdf.

The State Bank of India announced the SBI SO recruitment notification for 2021 on Aug. 12th, 2021. The registration process for various specialized category officers has begun on a contractual and regular basis as of the same date. Registration and fee payment will be available online from Aug. 13th, 2021.

SBI has announced the exam dates for various Specialist Officer positions.

SBI SO Application Fee

Those in the General and OBC categories must pay a Rs 750 application fee, while candidates in the SC/ST/PWD categories do not pay anything.

SBI SO Eligibility Criteria 

Before filling out the application form, candidates should confirm their eligibility for SO 2021. Only candidates who meet the Eligibility Criteria are allowed to seek the SBI SO exam. Aspirants must meet the requirements in terms of age, nationality, and all other categories.

Age :

  • The applicant’s minimum age ranges from 21 to 30 years old, depending on the position.
  • An applicant’s maximum age range is between 62 and 66 years old.

Nationality :

  • Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply.
  • The exam is not open to OCIs or NRIs.

SBI SO Salary

SBI SO is one of the most prestigious and sought-after positions in the banking industry. It is currently the most sought-after position in the financial sector.

SBI SO Grade 1’s minimum pay scale is Rs. 23,700, excluding DA, HRA, and other benefits. The SO Salary varies according to the grade and position. Selected candidates would be paid a salary of Rs. 42,020 to Rs. 51,490 plus various allowances such as DA, HRA, PF, CCA, LFC, Contributory Pension Fund, Medical Facility, and so on under the SBI SO Recruitment 2020.

 

How to apply for SBI SO?

Step 1: Open the registration page for SBI SO Exam

  • Visit the official website of SBI.
  • Click the link ‘New Registration’ on the home page of the SBI Career
  • Enter name, phone number, email id, and security code
  • Upon successful registration, a provisional number and password gets generated.
  • The provisional registration number and password are also sent to the registered email ID and password.

Step 2: Upload Photo and Signature

  • Post-registration, candidates need to upload the photograph, signature, and left thumb impression.
  • Signature in bold letters will not be accepted. 
  • The left thumb impression should be properly scanned and not smudged.

Step 3: Fill the detailed application form

This page is divided into three parts, basic details, educational qualification & experience, and preferences.

Educational Qualification, Work Experience & Languages: Here, candidates need to enter details of their graduation such as year of passing, college, percentage of marks, grade (if any).

They are also required to enter their work experience. Candidates are also required to enter the languages they can read, write and speak.

Preferences: Candidates need to enter the preferences of banks where they wish to work upon selection. SC/ST/Minority candidates can opt for pre-exam training in this part. 

Step 4: Preview of SBI SO application form

Candidates must preview the application form before the final submission. Then, they can edit the details entered in the application form while validating the same. Once this is complete, candidates need to agree to the terms and conditions and submit their applications. 

Step 5: SBI SO fee payment 

  • The payment gateway is linked to the application form.
  • Candidates need to follow the steps below for making payment.

Selection Process

The SBI SO candidates selection is based on the post available. The overall selection process used by SBI to hire Specialist officers is outlined below. 

Shortlisting and interviews will use to make the final decision. A candidate’s right to be summoned for an interview is not likely to meet the minimum qualification and experience requirements. The three steps in the SO selection procedure are as follows:

Candidates who clear the online examination can proceed to the next level of the SBI SO examination.

Step 1: Shortlisting

The Bank’s Shortlisting Committee will determine the shortlisting parameters. Following that, a sufficient number of individuals will be shortlisted and invited to an interview, as assessed by the Bank.

Step 2: Interview

Candidates who applied for regular and contractual positions and passed the online exam can participate in the Interview.

Step 3: Merit List

Only the interview scores will be used to construct the final selection merit list. If more than one candidate meets the normal cut-off score, they will be ordered in order of their age in the merit.
