SSC Stenographer Eligibility Criteria

The SSC Stenographer Eligibility Criteria 2024 is based on age group, nationality, and educational level. Any candidate whose eligibility for the SSC stenographer recruitment is determined to be ineligible at any point throughout the exam will have their application revoked.

Educational Qualification

The SSC Stenographer exam requires a minimum of a 10+2 diploma or its equivalent from a recognized Board or university to be eligible to take the test.

All the degrees provided, including technical education degrees/diplomas awarded through Open and Distance Learning modes of education by the Universities, are recognized for employment in services under the Central Government. It must be checked that the Distance Education Bureau, University Grants Commission, has approved them.

All applicants must present all pertinent documents in their original form, including mark sheets and provisional certificates from intermediate, higher secondary, and senior high school.

SSC Stenographer Age Limit

The minimum age requirement for SSC Stenographer positions is 18 years old. Although the maximum age limit varies depending on the type of position, specifics are provided below. However, candidates from the OBC and SC/ST categories are given a relaxation.

• Candidates should be aware that the Commission will only accept the date of birth listed on their matriculation or secondary examination certificate in determining an applicant’s age eligibility; requests for revisions will not be considered.

• Ex-servicemen (ESM) are not eligible for a reservation in the ESM category or the necessary fee reduction if they have previously obtained regular work in either Group “C” or “D” postings after using the reservation advantages.

• It is mentioned that the “call up service” period is service that is considered duty in the Armed Forces.

• Children of former service members, as well as their daughters and sons, are not eligible for the age relaxation. As a result, these applicants should not identify as veterans.

Nationality

The qualifying requirements for each aspirant candidate’s nationality must also be met. Applicants must complete the following standards:

A candidate must be a citizen of one of the following nations, or otherwise qualify as such:

• India
• Subject of Bhutan or
• Subject of Nepal or
• An immigrant Tibetan refugee to India before January 1, 1962, or
• A person of Indian descent who has emigrated from places like Vietnam, Zambia, Sri Lanka, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Ethiopia, Zaire, Kenya, Uganda, Malawi, and Myanmar in East Africa.

In favour of candidates who fall under categories 2, 3, 4, and 5 above, the Indian government will provide an eligibility certificate.

Number of Attempts

The official notice states that there is no restriction on the number of tries for the SST Stenographer test. The number of times a candidate can take the test while still meeting the age requirement is up to them.

Work Experience

To take the SSC Stenographer test, no prior job experience is necessary. Freshmen can apply to take the exam. The Stenography competence exam, however, will be needed of individuals who pass the first step of the hiring procedure.

SSC Stenographer Exam Eligibility: Border Roads Organisation (BRO)

Candidates must also fulfil qualifying requirements in order to be considered for the Border Road Organisation. It should be mentioned that only men are qualified for the same position. There are also other requirements including physical standards, medical criteria, and physical efficacy.

SSC Stenographer Exam Eligibility: Ex-Servicemen or Veterans

The following are the eligibility requirements for former service members participating in SSC Stenographer 2024:

• A candidate who has experience in the Indian Union’s Army, Navy, or Air Force, either as a combatant or non-combatant.

• Any individual who has received a gratuity and has been discharged after serving the required amount of time, at his own desire, or was fired for misconduct or inefficiency, including members of the Territorial Army (pension holders).

• Candidates for the Army Postal army who served in the Regular Army and retired from the army or were discharged from the service due to illness and received a medical pension or another form of disability compensation.

• Individuals who, before April 14, 1987, had been on deputation with the Army Postal Service for more than six months.

• All Armed Forces members who have received a medal for valour.

• Ex-Servicemen who get medical disability compensation after being released on medical grounds.

Candidates who are in their final year of military service and are scheduled to be released between January 1, 2020, and August 31, 2022 are eligible for an age relaxation. Such applicants will only be qualified to apply for positions at the Inter-Service Organisation and Armed Forces Headquarters.

Note: Sons, daughters, and other relatives of retired service members will not be eligible for an age relaxation.

SSC Stenographer Reservation 2024

Reservation is offered for SC, ST, OBC, Ex-Servicemen, PWD, and other groups in accordance with Government of India regulations.

Stenographers Grade “C” positions have been recognised as suited for:

• People with one arm (OA), one leg (OL), both legs (BL), blindness (B), and low vision (LV) impairments

• The positions of stenographers in Grade “D” have been determined to be test-ready.

SSC Stenographer Application Form 2024

The SSC Stenographer Application Form must be completed online only, and applicants are urged to have all required documentation on hand before beginning. Before enrolling for the exam, first-time applicants must register on the website.

Step 1: One-Time Registration

SSC Stenographer Exam Admit Card

A few days before the test, the SSC Stenographer admit card 2024 will be made available. In October and November 2024, the SSC Stenographer Grade C and D exams will take place. The official website is where applicants who successfully applied for the test may obtain admit cards. 200 objective type questions totalling 200 points in the SSC Stenographer Preliminary Exam are worth one mark each. For each unsatisfactory response, 0.25 marks will be deducted. • After being hired, candidates who opt to take the exam in Hindi will also be required to study English stenography and vice versa; if they fail to do so, the hiring departments will not pass their probation.

• Regardless of the exam medium they selected, candidates will be required to stenograph in either Hindi or English depending on the needs of the User Office.

• The Commission shall determine the location(s) of the skill test, which may be one of the Commission’s Sub Regional Offices, Regional Offices, or any other locations.

• For every skill test, specific instructions will be provided to the necessary Sub Regional / Sub Regional Offices of the Commission.

How to check SSC Stenographer Results?

All candidates for changes and result announcements should routinely check the official website. Only applicants who pass the written exam will be eligible for the qualifying skill test, the results of which will be uploaded following the skill test and will be considered for the SSC Stenographer.
