IBPS RRB Scale 2 Eligibility Criteria

IBPS RRB Officer Scale 2 eligibility is determined by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) based on various criteria such as age, educational qualification, and work experience. The IBPS RRB Officer Scale 2 is a senior-level position in Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) and involves managing and supervising banking operations in the bank. The eligibility criteria for IBPS RRB Officer Scale 2 are as follows:

Nationality:

  • The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
  • The candidate can be a subject of Bhutan or Nepal.
  • An individual of Tibetan origin, who arrived in India before the 1st of January 1962 to establish a permanent residence, is qualified to apply.
  • Candidates of Indian origin who have migrated from the United Republic of Tanzania, Ethiopia, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, and the East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, and Vietnam are eligible to apply. These candidates must have the intention of permanently settling in India.

Educational Criteria and Work Experience:

General Banking Officer (Manager):

Any discipline-specific Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or its equivalent, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 50%.

Candidates with a degree in the following sectors will receive preference; the sectors are: Banking, Finance, Marketing, Agriculture, Horticulture, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics, and Accountancy.

Experience: Two years as an officer in a Bank or Financial Institution.

Specialist Officers (Manager):

Information Technology Officer: Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in Electronics/Communication/Information Technology/Computer Science. Desirable: Certificate in ASP, PHP, C++, Java, VB, VC, OCP, etc.Desirable: Certificate in ASP, PHP, C++, Java, VB, VC, OCP, etc. Experience: A minimum of one year of experience in the relevant field.

Chartered Accountant: Holder of the Certified Associate (CA) credential granted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Experience: One year as a Chartered Accountant.

Law Officer: Bachelor’s degree in Law or any equivalent degree with a minimum of 50% marks. Experience: To be eligible, one must have either completed two years as an advocate or worked as a Financial Institution or Law Officer in Banks for at least two years.

Treasury Manager: MBA or Chartered Accountant in Finance from a recognized university/institution. Experience: One year of experience in the relevant field.

Marketing Officer: Master of Business Administration in Marketing from a recognized university. Experience: One year of experience in the marketing field.

Agricultural Officer: Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture/Veterinary Science/Horticulture/Animal Husbandry/Forestry/Dairy/Agricultural Engineering/Pisciculture from a recognized university or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Experience: Two years of relevant industry experience.

Age Limit:

The minimum age for IBPS RRB Officer Scale 2 is 21, and the maximum is 32 years. However, candidates from certain categories, such as SC/ST/OBC/PWD/Ex-Servicemen, are exempt from the upper age limit. The age relaxation criteria are as follows:

  • Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates: 5 years
  • Other Backward Classes candidates: 3 years
  • Benchmark Disabled Persons defined by “The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016”: 10 years
  • The excerpt states that ex-servicemen commissioned officers, including ECOs/SSCOs, who have completed at least five years of military service and have been released on completion of their assignment (or are due to be released within the next year) can apply for the exam. However, they should not have been dismissed or discharged due to misconduct, inefficiency, or physical disability attributable to military service or invalid. The eligibility is subject to the ceiling as per Government guidelines: 5 years.
  • Persons affected by 1984 riots: 5 years

Before submitting their IBPS RRB Application Form, applicants must ensure that they have the following information at hand:

  • A functional mobile number, email address, and mailing address.
  • A scanned image of their passport-sized photograph.
  • A scanned image of their signature.
  • A scanned image of their left thumb impression.
  • A scanned image of a handwritten declaration made by the candidate.
  • Credit/debit card or banking details must be readily available to pay the IBPS RRB application fee.

Important Instructions for the Application Process

Candidates must remember certain things while applying for the IBPS RRB Scale 2 Exam.

  • Candidates must enter the correct information in the online application form.  If any information is found false, the candidature of the candidate will be canceled by the authority.
  • Aspiring candidates must read the application form before submitting it.  Once the application form is submitted, candidates cannot make changes.
  • Candidates belonging to the reserved category must possess the certificate issued by the competent authority.
  • Candidates must enter the correct Mobile Number and Email Id.  The authority will send Login Id and Password to the registered mobile number.
  • Candidates must remember that once the application fee is submitted, it cannot be refunded.  There is no provision for a refund.
  • Candidates must select the nearby exam center.  Once the exam center is selected it cannot be changed.
  • Candidates must upload the photo and signature in the required format.  Applications with blur photographs will face rejection.

How to Apply For IBPS RRB Scale 2?

Step 1: Registration for IBPS RRB

   To register for IBPS RRB online, follow the below steps :

  • Visit the Institute of Banking Personnel’s website
  • Select the option “Click Here to Apply Online for CRP RRBs-VIII”
  • Select “Click Here for New Registration” on the login page.
  • Choose the post you want to apply for
  • Enter your details (first name, middle name, and last name) and communication details (mobile number, landline with STD code, and email ID)
  • Verify and confirm the details by re-entering them
  • Once you’ve entered the security code, select “Save and Next.”

Upon saving the details, a provisional Registration ID and Password will be generated and displayed on the screen. Make sure to save them; they are unique and should not be shared with anyone. An email and SMS will also be sent to you regarding the same.

Step 2:  IBPS RRB Uploading Documents

Once the Online Registration process is complete, candidates must upload their photograph, signature, left thumb impression, and handwritten declaration as specified. This process is known as IBPS RRB Uploading Documents, and the following steps must be followed to upload the necessary documents:

  • Use the provisional registration number and password received to re-login.
  • Select the link labeled ‘Upload the Photograph.’
  • Navigate to the saved location of the Scanned Photograph.
  • Choose the photograph.
  • Select the Upload/Open button.
  • Repeat the process for uploading the scanned images of the signature, left thumb impression, and handwritten declaration.

Step 3: Completing the IBPS RRB Application Form

Once the images have been uploaded, candidates will be directed to a details page to input the required information. The steps to do so are outlined below:

  • The page contains three tabs: Basic, Qualification/Experience/Language, and Survey.
  • In the Basic Tab, enter the appropriate category code, religion, nationality, and disability information.
  • Provide the choice of IBPS RRB Exam Center for the preliminary and main examinations using the correct state code.
  • Input personal information, including gender, father’s name, mother’s name, etc.
  • Communication details such as correspondence and permanent addresses, pin codes, and states are also required.
  • Under the Qualification/Experience/Language tab, enter the Bachelor’s degree details such as subject, type, year of passing, and percentage obtained.
  • Mention old and present work experience, including employer name, designation, and years of service.
  • Specify proficient languages, states, and preferred RRBs.
  • In the Survey tab, indicate desired organizations for recruitment and review the form for accuracy.
  • Click on “I agree” to confirm that the entered information is truthful and accurate.

Once all information has been verified, click on Submit. Please note that details cannot be altered after submission, so review and double-check all information entered in the IBPS RRB Online Application before submission.

IBPS RRB Scale 2 Application Fee

The application fee is compulsory for each candidate.  Candidates who fail to submit the application fee will not be able to appear for the exam.  Given below is the category-wise IBPS RRB Scale 2 exam fee structure. RRB Clerk Exam Pattern

IBPS has released the exam pattern and syllabus for IBPS RRB Officer Scale 1, 2, 3, and Office Assistant posts along with the 2025 notification PDF. The selection process for Office Assistant differs from that of Officer Grade posts. For IBPS RRB Office Assistant, the recruitment process includes two stages:

• Mains Examination

There will be no interview round for the Office Assistant post. Final selection will be based solely on the marks obtained in the Mains Examination.

How do you download the IBPS RRB Scale 2 Admit Card?

The IBPS RRB Scale 2 admit card will be available two weeks before the exam. Candidates must follow the steps given below to download the admit card.

  2. Click on the “Admit Card” link available on the homepage.
  3. Enter the registration details.
  4. Download the admit card.

Important Identity Proof

Candidates must bring at least one identity proof along with the admit card.  Identity proof is necessary to get entry into the exam hall.  Candidates will not be allowed to appear for the online exam without identity proof.  Candidates ensure that the date of birth mentioned on the identity proof should be the same as mentioned in the application form.  Change in date of birth can cause trouble for the candidates.  The candidature of the candidates will be canceled by the authority.  Candidates can carry the following identity proof along with the admit card.

IBPS RRB Scale 2 Exam Centers

During the registration, candidates have to choose the exam center.  Candidates should choose the nearby exam center.  IBPS has made exam centers in over 25 states and 50 cities in India.  Candidates must carefully select their exam centre.  Once the exam center is selected, it cannot be changed.  There is no provision for modification in the application form after the final submission.
