Part-A: Essay questions are to be answered in a long, narrated form of 80 marks. The topics would be modern Indian history, especially the freedom struggle, polity and economy, knowledge of security, geography, human rights issues, and analytical ability.
Part-B: Precis writing, comprehension, other communications/language skills – to be attempted only in English (Marks 120) – The topics would be Comprehension passages, précis writing, simple grammar, developing counterarguments, and other aspects of language testing.

The UPSC CAPF AC selection process consists of the following:
The UPSC CAPF AC exam will be conducted on 7th August 2022,comprising two papers. Paper-I will be conducted from 10 a.m. to 12.00 p.m., and Paper-II will be conducted from 2.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m.
Paper I: General Intelligence and Ability – 250 Marks
The model of the questions in this paper will be of Objective (Multiple Answers) mode, in which the questions will be asked in Hindi and English.
Paper-II: Essay, General Studies, and Comprehension – 200 Marks
In this paper, the candidates will be given the option of writing the Essay Component in English or Hindi. Still, the Precis Writing, Comprehension Components, and other communications/ language skills have to be written in the English medium only.
NOTE-I: Candidates should know that in Paper-II, the candidates should write the answers only in the medium allowed by the UPSC for the different components mentioned above. Marks will not be provided if the candidate writes the essay in another medium other than English. The candidates should indicate the medium of the Essay Component which they choose to write in the Attendance Lists and on the Answer Book. Marks will not be provided if the candidate indicates a medium on the Attendance List and the Answer Book other than the one in which they had written the Essay.
NOTE-II: There is a minimum qualifying mark for each Paper fixed by the UPSC CAPF at their discretion. During the evaluation process, Paper-I will be evaluated first, and Paper-II will be considered only for those candidates who got the minimum qualifying marks in Paper-I.

The Candidates who clear the online exam will be called for Physical Efficiency/Physical Standards Tests and Medical Standards Tests. The candidates who meet the required Physical Standards as specified by the UPSC CAPF will be going through the Physical Efficiency Tests as indicated below:

IMPORTANT NOTE UNDER PHYSICAL EFFICIENCY AND MEDICAL TEST:
The woman candidates, who are found to be pregnant, will be declared temporarily unfit, and their appointment is suspended until the confinement is over. Most importantly, the vacancy for women candidates who are selected should be kept reserved for them. She should be re-examined for the Physical Efficiency Test six weeks after the date of confinement, subject to the production of the medical certificate of fitness from a registered medical practitioner. Suppose the women candidate is found to be fit. In that case, she may be appointed to the post kept reserved for and allowed the benefit of seniority following the instructions of the Government, as amended from time to time.
The medical standards Tests and the physical efficiency/physical standards tests will be conducted under the supervision of a “Nodal Authority” appointed by the Ministry of Home Affairs. These tests will be conducted at various centres, which will be notified after the online examination results.
Appeals will be entertained only against the Medical Standards Tests and will have to be made to the Appellate Authority designated by the Ministry of Home Affairs within 15 days from the date of declaration of the results of these tests.
The candidates should appear for the Personality/Interview test by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission). Those declared medically unfit are called for the Interview/Personality provisional test. Besides, the Interview/Personality interim Test will carry 150 Marks.
The candidates selected for the Interview/Personality Test and the Interview/Personality provisional test will be given a Detailed Application Form (DAF) in which, among other things, they are required to indicate their preference of Forces.
Final Selection / Merit: The merit list will be drawn based on marks obtained by the candidates in the Online Exam and Interview/Personality Test.
