How To Apply for NIACL AO?
Applying for NIACL-AO is the initial step in the entire journey. Most importantly, the key is not to miss out on any requirements asked during the form fill-up process. The entire application process can be broadly divided into three steps:
- Application Registration
- Payment of Fees
- Scanning and Uploading
Application Registration
- Open the official website of NIACL, and click on the “Apply Online” option.
- Choose the tab “Click here for New Registration” and fill in the details of your Name, Contact details, and Email.
- After the final check of the details is done, proceed to save your application by clicking the “Validate your details” and then on the “Save & Next buttons.”
- After Validation, candidates can scan and upload all the specified documents, i.e., Passport photograph, Signature, left thumb impression, and a handwritten declaration.
- Now, click on the Preview Tab and check the completed application form.
- You can not make any changes after the Final submission of the application.
- After “Final Submit,” click on the “Payment” tab.

NIACL AO Eligibility Criteria 2025
To be an eligible candidate for the NIACL AO examination, the candidate has to match certain criteria, which are :
Nationality
The candidate applying for recruitment in the Company must be either-
- A citizen of India
- A subject of Nepal,
- A subject of Bhutan
- A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 to permanently settle in India
- A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, and East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam to permanently settle in India.
- Candidates belonging to the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th categories should have a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.
Educational Qualification
A candidate must possess the minimum qualification of a graduate/postgraduate in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government with at least 60% marks in either of the degree examinations for General candidates and at least 55% marks for SC/ST/PwBD candidates. Candidate should possess a certificate as proof of passing the qualifying examination.
Those who are in the Final Year/ Semester of their Graduation may also apply provisionally subject to the condition that, if called for an interview, they will have to produce proof of having passed the qualifying examination.
Important Points to consider:
- Educational qualifications should be from a University/Institution/ Board recognized by Govt. of India/ approved by Govt. Regulatory Bodies and the result should have been declared.
- A proper document from the Board / University for having declared the result has to be submitted at the time of the interview.
- The candidate must possess a valid Mark-sheet / Degree Certificate of the necessary qualification
- The percentage marks should be calculated by dividing the total marks obtained in all the subjects in all semester(s)/year(s) by aggregate maximum marks in all the subjects irrespective of honours
/ optional/additional optional subject if any. This will apply to universities where Class / Grade is decided based on Honours marks only. The fraction of percentage so arrived will be ignored i.e., 59.99% will be treated as less than 60%. - Where CGPA / OGPA is awarded, the candidate will have to produce a certificate issued by the appropriate authority inter alia stating the norms of the University regarding the conversion of grades into percentages and the percentage of marks scored by the candidate in terms of norms.
Age Limit
The minimum age set by the NIACL to appear for Assistant Officer on the exam is 21 years, and the maximum age is 30 years. The relaxations granted to candidates under reserved categories are :

NIACL AO Salary 2025
The pay scale at New India Assurance Co. Ltd. is very respectable and covers all significant employee benefits. The Basic NIACL AO Salary is Rs. 50,925/- whereas other admissible allowances (29000-30000) are applicable. The Gross Salary will be approximately Rs. 80,000/- p.m. in Metropolitan Centers. NIACL AO Exam Pattern 2025
NIACL undertakes online examinations and interviews. The entire examination process of the NIACL AO happens in three phases –
- Preliminary
- Mains
- Personal Interview
Phase I: NIACL AO Prelims
The preliminary exam is an objective-based online test consisting of three subjects, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability. The duration of the exam is 60 mins, with 20 minutes allocated to each specific section. The maximum mark for the whole exam is 100, split up into 35 for both Quantitative and Reasoning and 30 for English.

Candidates must ensure passing marks in each section to proceed to the Mains. For the Mains exam, approximately 15 times the number of vacancies are shortlisted from Prelims out of each category as decided by the Company.
Phase II: NIACL Mains
The main Examination will consist of Objective Tests for 200 marks and Descriptive Tests for 30 marks. Both the Objective and Descriptive Tests will be online. Candidates will have to answer the Descriptive Test by typing on the computer. The descriptive test will be administered immediately after completion of the Objective Test.

Descriptive Test:
The Descriptive Test is 30 minutes long, and the entire test will be a Test of the English Language, bifurcated into Letter writing -10 marks and essay Writing -20 marks.

Apart from that, descriptive answer scripts will only be evaluated for those candidates who qualify for the Objective Tests.
Phase III: Personal Interview
Candidates who qualify for the Mains Exam will be further shortlisted and subsequently called for an Interview. Interviews for final selection will be conducted at select centers finalized by NIACL. The interview score carries a weightage of 20% in the overall score rest, 80% is from the Mains Exam.

NIACL AO Admit Card 2025
The admit card for Phase I and Phase II will be available separately. Download the admit card for Phase I and Phase II. NIACL will also update the Candidates through SMS on their registered Mobile Number and e-mail on their registered email ID. Once the candidate lands on the above link, they will download the soft copy version of the admit card by accessing the official website. The following details should be with the candidate while downloading the admit card:

NIACL has not issued any official notification related to the NIACL AO Results. However, once released, candidates can check their results by following the given steps on the official website of NIACL.

- Now, select the List of Roll Numbers of Provisionally Shortlisted Candidates for Phase I.
