GDS Salary 2023 is 10,000, which can increase to 14,500 per month depending on TRCA (Time Related Continuity Allowance). The Ministry of Communications works with the Department of Posts (DoP) and recruits candidates annually under Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS). The GDS program is a central government job, and the competition among the candidates for this job is very high. The GDS salary and benefits are attractive; candidates must know them before applying.

the India Post Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) do not receive wages regularly or annually. The wages are received according to the Time-Related Continuity Allowances (TCAs). That is to say, the salary is calculated based on the hours they serve. Therefore, the TRCA or Time-Related Continuity Allowance is the minimum salary the selected candidates receive. They only serve for 4 hours and 5 hours of duty. Therefore, they would only get the minimum salary or minimum Time-related continuity allowance (TRCA).
The Time-Related Continuity Allowance, or TRCA, has two slabs or levels. Firstly, it is the Minimum Time-related continuity allowance or Minimum TRCA for 4 hours of duty. Then, they receive a minimum salary or minimum TRCA. Category 2 is the minimum TRCA for 5 hours of duty.
Candidates receive incentives, perks, and allowances under the India Post GDS. These incentives and allowances include the following.
India Post also offers other benefits to candidates of the India Post GDS. In addition, they can also claim education allowance for the children. Also, they are eligible for a maximum of Rs 6000 per year. They can claim the child support benefit for their two eldest surviving children.
The India Post GDS candidates can also avail of monthly stationery charges of Rs 25/-.
The India Post GDS candidates are expected to know how to ride a bicycle. It is required for performing duties like mail transfer and delivery. Therefore, one benefit that India Post GDS candidates can avail of is the Cycle Maintenance Allowance or CMA. They can avail up to Rs 180.
India Post GDS candidates can also avail of benefits such as office rent allowances. A Branch Postmaster would avail up to Rs 500 for standard office. Also, they can benefit up to Rs 200 from a non-standard office.
India Post GDS selected candidates can also avail themselves of early and voluntary retirement options. Also, anyone with a minimum service tenure of 10 years or 40 can avail of the voluntary retirement system.
India Post GDS candidates can also avail of the Transfer policy. Gramin dak Sevak (GDS) male candidates get benefits from the transfer policy only for one time. However, females candidates can avail of the transfer policy two times.

For level 1 BPM candidates, the post office GDS salary slab has been increased to INR 10,000/- and the maximum GDS salary is INR 24,470/-. The salary range for level 2 BPM candidates is INR 12,000/- to 29,480/-.
The job of an assistant branch post manager (ABPM) includes assisting the Branch Post Manager (BPM) with the smooth functioning of the post branch and taking care of the inventory, conveyance, and mail delivery. They are also involved in vital functions of the branch, like the sale of stamps, banking transactions under IPPB, marketing, business procurement, and so on. ABPM is required to do the combined duty of BPMs as and when required.
The average GDS salary per month of an ABPM in India is INR 10,000/- to 12,000/-.
