Bihar Teacher Eligibility Test is organized by the Bihar School Examination Board for the recruitment of primary and secondary government schoolteachers in the state of Bihar. It is a state-level exam, which is conducted annually, for candidates who have completed their B.Ed. and are aiming to secure a teacher’s job in Bihar. Annually, around 5 lakh candidates appear for the BTET exam, which is a mandatory step for candidates to pass through to be eligible to become a teacher in Bihar. This year, approximately 37,335 vacancies are available in government schools for Primary and Secondary school teachers. The exam is bifurcated between two papers with Paper 1 for candidates seeking to become Primary school teachers i.e., for classes 1st to 5th. The Application Fee can be paid through online or offline channels. Candidates can pay through the online mode by means of debit or credit card while for paying through offline mode, they can download the SBI e-challan receipt. Then, pay the fees at the designated SBI branch and take the printout of the e-slip on an A-4 size sheet. This bank copy has to be submitted to the bank. The Bihar School Examination Board will release the Admit Cards on its official website. Generally, it is released one week before the exam and can be downloaded from the website itself after logging in with your Registration Number and Roll Number, which are generated while submitting the application form. Errors in the Admit Card, if any, need to be brought forward instantly. Candidates are advised to contact the board regarding this matter.
Candidates are required to obtain both a colored hardcopy (through print) and a softcopy of the Admit Card, as they’ll be required to show it to the examiner at the test center. BTET 2022 Exam results will be announced by the Bihar School Education Board after the completion of Paper 1 and 2. The result of both papers will be released at the same time. After concluding with the BTET 2022 exam, successful candidates will be called for a Personal Interview. To qualify as teachers, candidates should also pass the personal interview stage, and only then they will get the job. After the interview stage, the board will decide the final result and declare a list of selected candidates. All those candidates will be appointed for the post of a government teacher and will be provided with a BTET 2022 joining letter. The joining letter is usually sent through the post and will be sent by the exam board after higher officials of the TET board give their approval.
Depending upon the details of the joining letter, candidates can join the respective schools. This means that the candidate should be ready to move to a different state or city for their job. The merit list is declared a few days after the termination of the exam and is prepared based on the score obtained by the candidate. In order to qualify for the interview stage, candidates have to get the minimum cut-off marks. The Bihar School Examination Board will release the cut-off marks of the BTET 2022 exam. Generally, the cut-off marks are released on the official website and are allocated category-wise. Candidates are advised to be well aware of the cut-off marks and prepare for the exam accordingly.
Based on annual trends, the cut-off marks for BTET are 60% for the General Category candidates and 55% for women candidates. candidates belonging to the Other Backward Class category I & II, have a cut-off of 50%.
