National standardization activity had commenced in 1947 in the Indian subcontinent. However, the Indian Standards Institution (ISI) was established under the Societies Registration Act 1860. So, as the name says, this was to adopt the national standards. But, in 1952, the Institution was already made responsible for operating the certification marking scheme.
In the year 1986, the authorities on a national level, however, made a review of the structure. The status of ISI was assessed. The impact it made on the national economic development was gauged. And meanwhile, its influence on the technological growth of various sectors of Indian industry was also assessed. The Govt. of India felt that a solid push had to be given to standardization. After that, the quality control activities, and a national strategy had to be evolved as well. Thus, this was to give appropriate recognition and importance to standards. And also, for intertwining them with growth and development of production. Exports in different sectors were also to be taken care of.
The Indian government, therefore, decided to create a statutory organization as the national standards body. Thus, it was named as the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). With adequate autonomy and flexibility as well in its operations, it was so, designed to achieve peaceful developments of the activities of standardization. Certification that would be remarking and connected to what matters. The Bureau of Indian Standards Act was finally passed by the Indian Parliament in 1986. Hence, BIS came into existence on the 1st of April, 1987.
So, BIS stands for Bureau of Indian Standards. thus, as the name says, it is the National Standards Body of our country, India. It however works under the Dept. of Consumer Affairs, Ministry of India, and the FPD (Food and Public distribution) body. BIS is responsible for the peaceful development of standardization activities. It also marks quality certification of goods. So, it is responsible for activities and checking the qualities of goods.
Through the nucleus actions of standardization and conformity gauging, BIS has been hugely benefiting the national economy. They are providing safe, reliable, and quality goods. Recruitment notification for several posts has been notified by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) for the current academic session 2021.
This premier professional electronics organization arranges for an entrance exam or recruitment exam for new candidates on every academic session. This exam is termed BIS Recruitment (2021 for the current year). The authority announces notifications regarding the recruitment for Group A, Group B, and Group C Posts. The BIS has not announced the total vacancies yet. Only the students who meet the minimum eligibility criteria are advised to apply.

To clarify, BIS does conduct the entrance examination in a written format. However, the candidates are selected through strict scrutiny of their applications. They are also called for a direct interview. Most importantly, after the successful scrutiny of applications.
The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) had released its online application form on the 5th of June 2021 for the post of Scientist, Group ‘B’ with 28 vacancies. The selection process as earlier mentioned was based on the written exam or interview. Interested and eligible candidates could apply on or before the 25th of June 2021. The detailed eligibility criteria and application process are however mentioned ahead.
In total there are 10 posts that come under BIS. They are Groups A, B, and C. It is shown in the table ahead.

The candidates applying for the BIS recruitment exam will have to submit the following amounts as application fees. This should be according to their respective categories.
The application fee for the exam can be transferred through debit card, credit card, web mode, or via Bank e-challan.

The application fee should be remitted through a debit card or credit card. Internet banking is also accepted. It is provided in the portal. So, applicants are requested to read the details and screenshots for making the payment. However, candidates applying for both scientist and assistant director posts are required to transfer the fees separately for each post.
The applicants however can also make the payment by approaching specifically a local branch. One has to choose the branch name in the payment option. Then, download the receipt generated. Then deposit the net fee and applicable bank charges. Therefore, the candidate should ensure to obtain the seal and signature of the bank official.
But candidates belonging to the General, OBC, and EWS category have to enter the “Bank Collect reference No.” generated after payment, in the Online Application Form. As earlier mentioned, the SC/ST/ the PwD, Ex-Servicemen, or Women candidates are certainly exempted from payment of the application fee.
The candidates may go through all instructions and eligibility criteria carefully. Before remitting the Application Fee and submitting the application it is to be done. No refunding of fee that is already paid. Applications of students, who do not transfer the net application fee, will not be considered.
BIS has released a detailed notification related to eligibility criteria for Scientist, Group B post. Quite a number of parameters are there that the candidates need to meet. In order to be selected for the respective post, they must fulfill the criteria listed below.

Before applying for BIS Recruitment, all the aspirants must be well aware of the above eligibility criteria. BIS has set these. Above all, the candidates applying for the various post in BIS must qualify the criteria. Only then they will be eligible for the Post.

Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has notified (as mentioned) vacancies. To clarify, recruitment for the posts of Scientist, Group B (28 posts).
The selection will be based on merit. Applicants who have cleared GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) and have passed the exam will be shortlisted. So, the net or gross salary for a Scientist of group B, at BIS, is INR 87,525/-.
Allowances and Additional Benefits as offered by BIS are –
A job is better than being unemployed. So, BIS is on terms a great option to join in. After Bachelors or even Masters for that instance. Now, BIS is only conducting interviews. Only 15% to B. Tech percentage and 75% weightage to GATE score. But,10% to relevant experience also. Vacancies in the company are also in a good number considered the salary. Meanwhile, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the market is not in a very good state. Here, freshers can also apply, but, with a valid GATE score.
