Himachal Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test is popularly known as HPTET. HPTET is conducted by the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) to select the candidates to recruit Trained Graduate Teachers (TGTs) in Arts/ Non-Medical/ Medical/ Shastri/ L.T/ JBT/ Punjabi/ Urdu Subjects. The exam’s main purpose is to ascertain students’ suitability for teaching posts at different government colleges in Haryana.

The HP TET is administered twice a year by the Himachal Pradesh State Board of Secondary Education (HPBOSE) for two different sorts of candidates. The first one is the candidates applying for teaching posts in classes six through eight, and the other one is the candidates applying for teaching positions in grades one through five.

Himachal Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (HPTET) is a state-level examination conducted in English and Hindi, except for some language papers. The recruitment of language teachers will be conducted in the respective language. The application for the examination will be available online. However, the mode of examination is offline. Once a candidate gets qualified for the examination, he/ she will be provided with a lifelong validity certificate, which can be used for a job as a teacher across Himachal Pradesh.

The HPTET 2023 announcement has been made public for the purpose of hiring teachers for primary and upper elementary schools. HPBOSE has released the important dates for the HPTET exam and once the application form is updated on the official website, candidates can start applying for the examination. HPTET Teacher Salary

The salary range for HPTET Examination varies from one scale to another. The average salary range of HPTET-passed teachers working at the primary level gets about Rs 35,000 to 37,000. Likewise, a teacher working at the upper-primary level receives a salary of Rs 43,000 to 46,000. Also, they will be provided with allowances based on their position.

How to apply for HTET 2023?

HPTET aspirants must submit their applications on or before the last date. Here is the step-by-step procedure to apply for the HPTET Exam 2023.

Step 1: The candidate needs to visit the HPTET official website and click the ‘New Candidate Register’ Tab.

Step 2: Then, the candidate needs to fill in the personal and general information, like, Applicant Name, Subject Appearing for, DOB, Nationality, Sex, Mobile Number, Category and Email ID, Exam Center preference, and also address details.

Step 3: Now, the candidate should pay the fees. It also can be deposited through an integrated payment gateway via Net Banking, Debit/Credit Card.

Step 4: Finally, candidates should accept the declaration and submit the form. HPTET candidates should be very aware before accepting the declaration form because you cannot make any changes afterward. Then the confirmation page will be generated with the application number indicated on it. 

Step 5: Now, the candidate can take a printout of his/ her application for future reference

HPTET Exam Eligibility Criteria

To attend the HPTET examination, the candidates need to have the following education, age, and nationality qualifications to attend the examination.

Nationality / Citizenship

All the candidates should be a citizen of India to be eligible to participate in the recruitment process for the HPTET Exam 2023. The aspirants from Himachal Pradesh must submit their domicile certificate to show their eligibility.

Age

There is no upper age limit for the HP TET Examination 2023. However, the lower age limit is a minimum of 18 years. Therefore, candidates who are 18 years old and above can apply for the Exam.

Educational Qualification

Here are the required qualifications for the different posts in the government schools of Himachal Pradesh.

• Generally, Aspirants who want to clear the TGT Arts examination must pass the class 12th examination with a minimum of 45% and a degree in B.A or B.Com with 50%.
• Then, for the TGT examination, aspirants must pass the 12th examination with a minimum of 50% and a BSC and B.Ed or Bachelor’s degree (50%) in elementary education.
• Consequently, the Shastri Examination candidates need a degree in Shastri with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognized university by the Himachal Pradesh Government.
• Then for the TGT Medical Examination, aspirants should have passed the 12th exam with a minimum of 50% and a degree in B.Sc.(medical) or B.Ed. Or Bachelor’s degree with 50% in elementary education.
• To become a language teacher, candidates should have a degree in Hindi or currently appear in the final year of a 2-year diploma course.
• Then if you want to become a junior in Basic Training, you should pass 12th with a minimum of 50% and a degree in the diploma (2 years) or Bachelor’s degree with 50%  in elementary education.
• For Punjabi language teachers, candidates should have a degree in Punjabi or currently appear in the final year of 2 years diploma courses.
• Finally, for the Urdu Language Teacher, candidates must need a degree in Urdu or presently doing the final year of their diploma course for 2 years.

HPTET Admit Card 2023

HPTET Admit Card will be released around one week before the examination.  It is essential to download the admit card before the examination so a candidate can attend it. HPTET 2023 Admit Card would be provided only to aspirants who have successfully submitted the application form before the deadline.

Admit Card Details

• HPTET 2023 Admit Card will have Candidate’s Name, Photograph, Test Center, Signature, Roll Number, Address, and Test Schedule.
• Once a candidate gets to download the Admit Card, he/ she needs to check the details printed on the Admit Card are correct.
• If admit cards for the HPTET Examination 2023 are not accessible on the website, the applicant should get advice from the Board’s Office with a photocopy of the confirmation page.

HPTET Exam Pattern 2023

HPTET Exam Pattern varies from one subject to another. Before moving to the subject-wise pattern, aspirants must know the overall exam pattern that remains common for all subjects. Aspirants with the best understanding of the exam scheme tend to make better preparation strategies and have a strong edge over other candidates. Following is the basic explanation of the HPTET Exam Pattern:

• HPTET examination will be offline, and the candidates must mark their answers on an OMR Sheet.
• The exam must have 150 multiple-choice questions with a total time of 150 minutes.
• Generally, each question carries 1 mark and no negative marking is applicable for the HPTET examination.
• Moreover, the minimum mark required to qualify for the HPTET examination is 90, which means 60%.

HP TET Result

The HP TET Result and the cut-off marks for 2023 will be published by HPBOSE. HPTET examination results will be available on the official website. Once the examination is finished, the HPBSE will declare the result one or two weeks later. Then the candidates can download it online.

• First, a candidate needs to go and check the official website of the HP TET.
• Then he/ she needs to look for the icons related to the result of the HP TET Exam.
• Once the candidate finds the icon of the HP TET, he/ she needs to click on that icon to proceed further.

HPTET Cutoffs

The HP TET Cut-off marks vary from one category to another. It will be released once the examination results are declared. Cut-off and the merit list will be uploaded on the official website. The Cut-off marks for the students belonging to different categories should be different and they may vary year by year. As the maximum mark, a candidate must score to have a high chance of getting a qualified cut-off percentage.
