Generally, Himachal Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test is popularly known as HPTET, consequently, HPTET is conducted by HPBSE to select the candidates for the recruitment of Trained Graduate Teachers (TGTs) in Arts/ Non-Medical/ Medical/ Shastri/ L.T/ JBT/ Punjabi/ Urdu Subjects. And also, HPBSE is responsible for all the HPTET exam processes, like, releasing notification, conducting the examination, declaring results, producing a cut-off list, etc. So, aspirants should get updates from the official website.

It is a state-level examination, however, conducted in both languages English and Hindi except for some languages papers. The recruitment of language teachers will be conducted in the respective language. The application for the examination will be available online, However, the mode of examination is offline.  Once you got qualified in the examination you will be provided with the lifelong validity certificate, which you can use when you go for a job as a teacher across Himachal Pradesh.

Moreover, the examination for the Arts/ Non-Medical/ Medical/ Shastri/ L.T/ JBT/ Punjabi/ Urdu Subjects has just been conducted in July. So the candidates should wait to get the new notification for the next Examination.

HPTET Exam Notification & News

Firstly HPTET exam  was released on 15th April 2021, consequently, the HPTET Application form was released on 24 May 2021, then, 13 June was the last date to apply for the HPTET examination. However, the examination date was postponed to August because of Covid 19 situation. HPTET released all the examination details and processes as usual. The HPTET Examinations have been finished just a few weeks before. So, the candidates should wait for some time to get the official notification from the HPBSE about the next examination process.

  • Generally, HPTRET 2021 is an offline-based exam that consists of objective-type questions. And also it is a pen-paper mode examination.
  • Then, the exam paper will generally have a total of 150 questions, which should be completed within 2 hours 30 minutes.
  • In addition, talking about the marking system of the Himachal Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test, an apprentice will get a +1 mark for every correct answer. However, no minus mark In HPTET Examination for incorrect answers.
  • In order to clear the HPTET examination, a candidate must gain a minimum aggregate score of 60% marks in the examination.

 

HPTET Exam Dates

The Examination process after August Examination has not been released yet by the HPBSE. However, I have added the previous Examination date for your reference. Aspirants can check out the official website for earlier updates about the examination. And we will also notify you once the examination dates are announced. Generally, HPBSE will release the important dates for the HPTET examination. Once the application form is updated on the official website, candidates can start applying for the examination. Consequently, candidates can get their admit card a week before the Examination. Once the examination date is announced HPBSE will release the Result date. Finally, after all the process the eligible candidate can get life long validity certificate.

Application Fee

Generally, the HPTET application fee will differ from one category to another. So, candidates should be well aware of their category before applying for the examination. Then, most importantly the application fee should be paid before the last date of application so that you can attend the examination. So, keep check out the official website for application-related information like starting date, last date, etc. The application fee for general category candidates is 800 Rs. Likewise the application fee for the likewise 500 for SC/ST/OBC Category aspirants.

HPTET Exam Eligibility Criteria

In order to attend the HPTET examination, the candidates need to have the following education, age, nationality qualifications to attend the examination.

Educational Qualification

Firstly educational qualification,

  • Generally, Aspirants who want to clear the TGT Arts examination need to have passed class 12th examination with a minimum of 45% and a degree in B.A or B.Com with 50%.
  • Then, for the TGT (Non-Medical) examination aspirants need to have passed the 12th examination with a minimum of 50% and a degree in BSC and B.Ed or Bachelor degree (50%) in elementary education.
  • Consequently for the Shastri Examination candidates need a degree in Shastri with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognized university by the Himachal Pradesh Government.
  • Then for the TGT Medical Examination aspirants should have passed the 12th exam with a minimum of 50% and a degree in B.Sc.(medical) or B.Ed. Or Bachelor’s degree with 50% in elementary education.
  • In order to become the language, teacher Candidates should have a degree in Hindi or currently appear in the final year of a 2-year diploma course.
  • Then if you want to become a junior Basic Training you should pass 12th with a minimum of 50% and a degree in the diploma (2 years) or Bachelor degree with 50%  in elementary education.
  • Consequently for Punjabi Language Teacher Candidates should have a degree in Punjabi or currently appear in the final year of 2 years diploma courses.
  • Finally, for the Urdu Language Teacher candidates must need a degree in Urdu or presently doing the final year of their diploma course for 2 years.

Age limitation

There is no upper HPTET Examination however the lower age limit is a minimum of 18 years. Hence, candidates who are 18 years old with the above educational qualifications can apply for the HPTET examination without any age limit. So, candidates need not worry about their upper age when applying for the HPTET examination.

Nationality

Generally, HPTET candidates should be a citizen of India and also the aspirants who belong to Himachal Pradesh must submit their domicile certificate.

 

Vacancies

Currently, the position of Trained Graduate Teachers (TGTs) in Arts/ Non-Medical/ Medical/ Shastri/ L.T/ JBT/ Punjabi/ Urdu Subjects has been vacant in various schools in Himachal Pradesh. So, the HPBSE had decided to examine the above position. And also the examinations were finished in July.  So, candidates should wait for further notification. Once the vacancies are available HPBSE will call for the examination process.

 

Salary

Generally, The salary range for HPTET Examination varies from one scale to another. The average salary range of HPTET passed teachers working at the primary level gets about Rs 35,000 to 37,000. Likewise, a teacher working at the upper-primary level receives a salary of Rs 43,000 to 46,000. Also, they will be provided with allowances based on their position.

HPTET Exam Pattern

Generally, HPTET 2021 Exam Pattern varies from one subject to another. Before moving to the subject-wise pattern, aspirants must know the overall exam pattern that remains common for all the subjects. Aspirants with the best understanding of the exam scheme tend to make better preparation strategies and have a strong edge over other candidates.  And the following is the basic explanation of the HPTET 2021 Paper Pattern:

  • Firstly, the HPTET examination will be an offline mode and also the candidates must mark their answers in an OMR Sheet.
  • Then, the exam must have 150 multiple choice questions with a total time of 150 minutes.
  • Generally, each question carries 1 mark and there is no negative marking applicable for the HPTET examination.
  • Moreover, the minimum mark required to qualify for the HPTET examination is 90, which means 60%.

 

Exam Admit Card

Generally admit card will be released one week before the Examination. HPTET 2021 Admit Card was released in July 2021 for the previous examination.  It is very important to download the admit card before the examination so that you will be allowed to attend the examination.

  • HPTET 2021 Admit Card would be provided only to aspirants who have successfully submitted the application form for HPTET before the deadline.
  • Generally, HPTET Admit Card will have Applicant’s Name, Photograph, Test Center, Signature, Roll Number, Address, and Test Schedule.
  • Once candidates downloaded their admit card, they need to check the details printed on the Admit Card are correct.
  • In case admit card for the HPTET examination is not accessible on the website, the applicant should get advice from the Board’s Office with a photocopy of the confirmation page.

 

Exam Result

Generally, the HPTET examination result will be available on the official website. Once the examination is finished the HPBSE will declare the result one or two weeks after the examination. Then the candidates can download it online.

  • Then look for the icons related to the result,
  • Once you find the icon, click on that,
  • Then enter your HPTET registration number and password
  • After that new page will be opened, where you can get your result
  • Finally, take a printout if you need it.

How to Apply?

Generally, the application form will be released soon after the official notification about the examination. After that HPTET Aspirants can start applying for the examination. HPTET aspirants must submit their applications on or before the last date. Here I have added the step-by-step procedure to download the admit card.

Then the confirmation page will be generated with the application number indicated on it.  Finally, take a printout of your HPTET examination for future reference.
