Moreover, the candidate should also be diligent and kind. In fact, ideal candidates would be those who want to offer their services for the welfare of the general public.
After all, the birth of the Arunachal Pradesh Police department has a respectable basis. It has its basis on the founding principles of “Satya, Seva, and Suraksha”. Here, the motto roughly translates to Truth, Service, and Safety.
First of all, the birth of the Arunachal Pradesh Police Department is traceable to the 1945 Act of Assam Frontier Regulation. Previously, Arunachal Pradesh was a Union Territory. According to the provisions made in the Act, the regulatory bodies brought the territory under their supervision. But, there was an agreement that an organized body of policing could not effectively watch over the state. However, there was already a tribal and regional law in force.
It was only in the late 1960s that there were advancements in the set-up of Civil Police. And by the 1980s, the Government set up many more police stations. In turn, this advancement made it necessary to enlist defense personnel. More developments happened under the aegis of Sir L. B Sewa. In fact, people regard him as the Architect of the Arunachal police.
Arunachal Pradesh finally received the title of a state in the year 1987. After that, the body of the Arunachal Pradesh Police grew exponentially. The first Director-General of Police of Arunachal Pradesh Police was Suresh Roy.
