UGC NET full form stands for the University Grants Commission (UGC) on the official website of the UGC NET (National Testing Agency). UGC exam previous year question papers consisted of 3 papers but currently, UGC NET Exam Pattern 2024 will have 2 papers. As per the UGC net exam 2024, the questions are in the form of MCQs. In the UGC net examination it doesn’t have subjective type questions, which means students have few options and out of which only 1 option is correct.
The UGC net exam pattern 2024 is uncomplicated. It mainly comprises two papers namely UGC NET paper 1 and paper 2 UGC NET 2024. Paper 1 covers the general aptitude test which consists of questions from Mathematics, Reasoning, and English. The appearing candidates for UGC net exam have three hours to attempt both papers. As per the recent UGC net pattern exam, the papers have the option in English as well as Hindi.
The exam pattern of UGC net is set to examine the candidate’s general aptitude, teaching technique, knowledge of higher-level education, information, mathematics, technology, data interpretation, etc. As per the UGC net exam pattern paper, 2 comprises of hundred questions that are to test candidate knowledge of their subject. In paper 2 candidates have to select a subject as per their requirement of JRF or to get the position of assistant professor. Before 2018 as per the UGC net pattern the exam was conducted in 2 sessions for one and two hours respectively. After 2019 NTA revised the UGC net exam pattern adhering to that candidates have to appear for the papers in a single session of three hours.

As per UGC net exam 2022 pattern, the examination was for 2 papers. The candidates have to write the papers within 3 hours. The question paper had objective type question for both the papers. The candidate has to answer all the questions from paper 1 and 2.

Candidates need to attempt both the UGC net papers in one session (3 hours) without any recess. The questions in both papers are compulsory to attempt.
NTA has announced that UGC net paper 1 “the questions will be generic in nature”, to analyze the research/teaching aptitude of the candidate. It will be modified to test the comprehension, reasoning capability, critical thinking, and general knowledge of the candidates.

The UGC NET official website confirms regarding UGC net paper 2 exams “this will be based on the subject the candidate has chosen. The question in paper 2 will be mandatory to attempt”.
The candidate has to select the subject of UGC net paper 2 among 82 subjects during the procedure of filling the UGC NET application form 2024. The candidate has to sit for the subject of their post graduation. Candidate who has not done post graduation any of the 82 subjects can also sit for the related subject. NET paper pattern for UGC Paper 2 consists of 100 MCQ based questions.

The candidate will be given 4 options for each question in paper 1 and 2 out of which only 1 option is correct. Paper 1 consists of 50 questions while paper 2 consists of 100 questions. All the questions from each paper are mandatory to attempt. Each question carries 2 marks I both papers. The candidate does not have any negative marking in UGC net exam 2022 pattern which means the candidate have wider scope of scoring maximum marks in UGC net exam. Even though NTA introduced small modification in the pattern the candidate have to complete their paper in single session of 3 hours unlike before 2 sessions one of 1 hour another for 2 hours.

The passing marks for UGC NET for general category is 40% in Paper 1 and 2 while the passing marks for SC/ST/PwD /Transgender//OBC-NCL categories is 35% in Paper 1 and 2.
UGC NET exam has two papers that are to be written in a single session of three hours. Paper 1 and Paper two, in the first paper candidates have to answer 50 MCQ’s while in the second paper candidates have to answer 100 MCQ’s.
UGC NET exam conducts in Paper 1 and 2. IT has MCQ’s for each of the papers. It is mandatory to answer each question. The NET exam is conducted in a single session of three hours. The allotted marks for Paper 1 are 100 while in Paper 2 it is 200.
The net is valid for three years. Candidates may appear twice annually. The attempts are not restricted for the candidates.
As of now the attempts are limitless. However, the JRF must be 28 years. No age limit for the position of lecturer.
