Karnataka Public Service Commission, or KPSC, is a state government-run agency that recruits candidates for Karnataka state civil services. The candidates can download PDFs of KPSC’s previous years’ question papers without hassle from this article.
KPSC conducts the entrance examinations for various posts such as Assistant Director of Town Planning, Assistant Controller & Audit Officer, Motor Vehicle Inspectors, Assistant Engineer/Junior Engineer, Assistant Conservator of Forests, Gazetted Probationers or Karnataka Administrative Services, and First and Second Division Assistants.
KAS or Karnataka Administrative Services or Gazetted Probationers is an exam that thousands of students aspire to qualify for yearly. There are three phases—Prelims, Mains, and Personal Interviews—of the KPSC exam. The Prelims syllabus covers general studies and current affairs. It is a multiple-choice, questions-based examination. The aspirants who clear the Prelims are allowed to appear in the Mains exam.
The Mains examination is a subjective exam where the deep understanding of the aspirants is evaluated for each subject. There are four general studies papers, along with an optional subject that the candidates need to choose. Both the Prelims and Mains syllabus of the KPSC exam covers the higher secondary level syllabus. The main books that can help the candidates prepare well for the KPSC are NCERT books for Class 6 to Class 12.
The last step to clear the KPSC exam is a Personal Interview, where a board of interviewers meets the selected candidates. They ask questions about relevant topics to check a candidate’s knowledge, understanding and confidence.
