The candidates applying for the position should have proper vision and hearing. They should also not have diabetes mellitus or high BP.

The selection of SDMs is carried out through UPSC or State-level Service Exams. The candidate gets 6 attempts (for the General Category) to qualify for all the stages of the exam.
