So here are some top government exams and syllabi. 

One of the top Government exams – UPSC 

Union Public Service Commission(UPSC) is one of the top government exams in India. UPSC conducts Civil Service Examination every year to recruit Civil Servants across the nation. Many students dreamed of becoming Civil Servants. It is one of the toughest exams in India also. Every year lakhs of students appear in the examination to fulfil their dreams. But only a few become Civil Servants. So the competition is very high. There are four different exams for various posts under UPSC. 

IAS 

Indian Administrative Service(IAS) is a part of UPSC. It is also one of the toughest exams of UPSC. Through IAS, they recruit people for administrative works of the nation. It is a highly respected job, and the salary is very good. An IAS officer gets almost Rs 1,20,000-2,00,000 per month. Also, they get additional facilities like- hospitality, accommodation, transportation, high security, etc. To become an IAS officer, one must hold a degree in any domain. The age limit is a minimum of 21 and a maximum of 32 years, and the maximum number of attempts is 6. 

IPS 

Indian Police Service(IPS) is a part of the Civil Service Examination conducted by UPSC. If you clear this exam you can become head of the police department. It is also a tough exam, and many students dream of becoming IPS officers. It is also a highly respected job, and the salary is also high. An IPS officer gets Rs.1,50,000-2,00,000 per month and also gets additional perks. You have to complete your graduation to appear in the exam. The maximum age limit is 32, the minimum is 21, and the maximum number of attempts is 6. 

IFS 

Indian Foreign Service(IFS) is also a part of UPSC. If you become an IFS Officer, you will work in foreign and get free education, accommodation, transportation, all perks free in Foreign. An IFS officer gets a high salary and a highly respected job. 

Syllabus- If you want to clear UPSC, you have to clear the three stages of this exam.

First- Prelims, then Mains Exam and Interview. Here is the syllabus- 

Prelims– It has two compulsory papers. Both have objective-type questions and 200 questions for each paper. The time given is 2 hours for each paper. Paper 1 includes General Studies, including Indian Polity, Geography, History, Indian Economy, Science and Technology, Environment and Ecology, and International relations. Paper 2 is the Civil Service Aptitude Test. It includes English, Reasoning, Aptitude. One can give the exam in English or Hindi. 

Mains– If you clear the Prelims score, you will get a chance to appear in the Mains exam. It is a descriptive paper. Nine papers include essay writing and subject-related questions. Both the exams contain negative markings. If one clears the mains exam, they will get a chance to appear in the final Interview round. Your selection is based on your mains score and interview performance.

Combined Defence Services 

It is one of the top government exams in India. Suppose you want to serve your nation. If you are a graduate, you can apply for this job. To get a job in defence services, you have to clear NDA, CDS, AFCAT different exams. Combined Defence Service conducts examinations for  Indian Military Academy, Noval Academy, And Air Force Academy. This position is very prestigious, challenging, and responsible. And the salary package is also good. The salary of defence services is around 60,000 to 70,000 per month. Also, extra perks are included. 

Syllabus– To get a job in defence services, you have to clear written examinations and interviews. The written examination includes English, General knowledge, current affairs, and mathematics. If one clears written examination, they will get a chance to appear in the interview. RBI Grade B Officer- one of the toughest government exams 

RBI is one of the accessible banks in India, and Grade B of RBI is the best post for this job. This exam is one of the toughest government exams in India. If you are interested in working in banks, it is a great job opportunity. Salary is also high. A Grade B officer gets an average salary of sixty-seventy thousand rupees in a month. Syllabus– To become an RBI Grade B Officer, you need to clear the RBI Grade B examination first. It is an objective-type written exam that includes- Banking Awareness, Aptitude, English, and current affairs. If you clear this exam, you will get a chance to appear in the interview. 

State PSC Exams- top State Government Exams 

It is a State exam, but lakhs of students prepare and appear in the exam every year. So the competition is very high. Also, the number of seats is less so competition is very tough. We can consider it under top government exams in India. Different states conduct this exam for SDM, ETO, DSP, etc. It has a high reputation. And high demanding job and the salary is also high. A State Service Commissioner gets around Rs 50,000-60,000 per month. Also gets additional perks like- travelling, accommodation, medical, etc. This is the same as UPSC, but different states conduct their exams for the posts. 

Syllabus– To get a job, you have to clear prelims, then mains and interview round. Prelims include two papers, 200 marks each – General Studies like Economics, Polity, History, Geography, Environmental Science, Science, and Technology and part 2, which includes aptitude, reasoning, English. It has a negative marking for every wrong answer. The examination is offline( pen and paper-based). Then the Mains exam is descriptive type. It includes seven papers. If you clear the exam, you can appear in the interview. 

State Service Commission 

It is also a State exam. State Service Commission includes SSC CGL, SSC CHSl, SSC JE, MTS, etc., exams for different posts. This is also one of the top government exams and the toughest one as Lakhs of candidates prepare to get a job. So it is a High demanding job, and the salary is also good. You can get up to 40,000-50,000 per month. It may vary for clerk posts. 

Syllabus– To get a job, you have to clear first Prelims then mains exam. This exam has no interview rounds, completely based on the written exam. It includes General Knowledge, General Studies, Current affairs, Maths, Reasoning, English, etc. 

Lecturers in Government Colleges 

To become a lecturer in Government colleges, you have to qualify for UGC Net and JRF. It is also one of the top government exams in India. But the job is very satisfying and relaxing. You get enough free time, and the salary is also good. Salary may vary between 40,000 to 1 lakh per month. It may vary based on your experience. They get additional facilities also like- medical, accommodation, etc. To appear in the exam, one must complete a Master’s in any domain. It is also a high-level examination. Every year lakhs of students prepare to become Assistant Professors or JRF. 

Syllabus– It consists of 2 papers. Paper 1 includes several subjects like Search aptitude, polity, Communication, Teaching Aptitude, Reasoning, etc. 

Jobs in PSU 

If you are a student from an Engineering background especially in core subjects like- Civil, Electrical, Mechanical then this is a great job opportunity. Every year GATE exam is conducted to select the candidates in PSUThere are many top PSU companies like- IOCL, ONGC, Indian Oil, NTPC, Power Grid Corporation, Coal India, GAIL, Hindustan petroleum, etc. This is a highly respected job and the toughest one also. GATE Exam is one of the toughest government exams. Every year, lakhs of candidates appear, but seats are very few, so competition is very high. The salary is also good. Almost 70,000-1,00,000 per month if you selected in top PSUs. 

Syllabus– To get a job in PSU, you need to clear the GATE exam and score good marks. GATE consists of 2 papers. Paper 1 includes aptitude, Reasoning, English, And paper 2 includes Mathematics and related questions. It has a negative marking for every wrong answer. 

Bank jobs 

Maximum students prepare for bank exams and papers in the examination. In India, Bank Jobs are high in demand, so it is one of the top government jobs. Every year Bank conducts several examinations for different banks and posts. Like IBPS PO, IBPS Clerk, SBI PO, SBI Clerk, iBPS SO, IBPS RRB, etc. Salary of Bank jobs is also good. One can get up to 40,000 per month. 

Syllabus– Several banks conduct different exams for different posts. But if we consider the basic syllabus is- Banking Awareness, Aptitude, Reasoning, and English. You have to clear first Prelims then Mains exams. Many Banks conduct Interviews also.
