Process of NEET Examination

1. Application Process

2. Admit Card

The admit card can be downloaded three to four days before the entrance exam. NEET counseling is conducted for 15% of All India Quota (AIQ) seats in government institutes and 100% in private universities, AFMS, AIIMS, JIPMER, and BSc Nursing programs on the grounds of NEET. There are four rounds in the NEET AIQ counseling process.

3. Eligibility       

A candidate is required to fulfill the following eligibility criteria to appear in the NEET (UG) exam:

A. Minimum age requirement: Candidate must have completed 17 years of age as of December 31st of the year of appearing for the exam. There is no upper age limit for the exam.
B. The candidate must be an Indian citizen. Indian non-residents, individuals of Indian origin, and foreign nationals are also eligible to appear for the exam.
C. Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent in the science stream (Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as core subjects)

D. Minimus 10+2 score required for each category is as under:

  1. General Category: 50%
  2.  PWD category: 45%
  3.  SC/ST/OBC: 40 %

  1. ​Understand the exam pattern and subjects thoroughly.
  2. Prepare for the exam considering NCERT as a base material, especially for Biology.
  3. Dedicate at least 7-8 hours daily toward exam preparation.
  4. Refer to more than two sources for a subject or topic, such as online study material, NCERT, and coaching classes study material.
  5. Consistency is the key. Prepare a study plan, preferably subject-wise, and stick to it consistently.
  6. Biology carries the highest weight and ensures you build a solid foundation in the subject matter.
  7. Use mnemonics to memorize things you tend to forget. For example, ‘I Prefer Milk and Tea’ for remembering the four phases of Mitosis – Interphase (I), Prophase (P), Metaphase (P), and Telophase (T).
