The Staff Selection Commission conducts the SSC CGL exam every year to recruit candidates for Group “B” and Group “C” positions in various central government departments such as Income Tax, Customs, CBI, CBDT, CBEC, and others. It is one of the most popular national-level exams among graduates.
For the financial year 2025–26, the official SSC CGL 2025 notification was released, announcing 14,582 vacancies for Group B and C posts on the official website www.ssc.gov.in. A large number of candidates applied for these posts. The CBT exam was conducted from 12th to 26th September 2025. However, due to technical issues at several centres, the exam was cancelled. The SSC CGL re-exam has now been scheduled for 14th October 2025.

SSC CGL Eligibility Criteria
SSC CGL 2025 eligibility requirements will include several criteria that applicants must meet to have their names appear on the final selection list, such as educational requirements, age restrictions, physical standards, etc. Check out the eligibility requirements that candidates must meet on ssc.gov.in:

The age limit defined is 18 – 32 years. The age limit and relaxation criteria are based on the vacancy as well.

2. Educational Qualification

1. Collaborator Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer
- Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University.
- Desirable Qualification: CA/CS/MBA/Cost & Management Accountant/ Masters in Commerce/Master’s in Business Studies.
2. Junior Statistical
- Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University.
- Institute with at least 60% Marks in Mathematics at the 12th standard level.
- Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects at the degree level.
3. Statistical Investigator Grade-II Post
- Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University with a minimum of 60% in Mathematics in Class 12th.
- Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with Statistics as one of the subjects in graduation.
4. NHRC Research Assistant
- Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University.
- A minimum of one year of research experience in a recognized research institution or university.
- Law or human rights degree from a recognized university.
5. Other Posts
- Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University or equivalent.
3. Nationality / Citizenship
Aspirants must adhere to the following nationality criteria. They must be
- a citizen of India, or
- a subject of Bhutan/Nepal, or
- a person of Indian origin who has migrated to India to reside there permanently from countries such as Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam in East Africa.
4. Physical Standards
Applicants for the positions of Inspector (Examiner/ Central Excise/ Preventive Officer) & Sub-Inspector in CBN must meet the following important physical standards:

SSC CGL Application Process
The SSC’s official website has a link to apply online for the SSC CGL 2025. Many candidates have filled the application form this year.
1. Application Fees
The fee may be paid electronically using BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or with a credit or debit card from Visa, Mastercard, RuPay, Maestro, or in cash at SBI branches by generating an SBI Challan.
However, candidates who desire to pay in cash using the SBI challan may do so at any SBI branch during regular business hours.

2. How to apply for SSC CGL 2025?
Follow these steps to apply for SSC CGL on the web:
- Sign in to the SSC CGL Official website.
- Register using your email ID and phone number. Aspirants will receive the registration number via mail and text message.
- After clicking on the Apply option, you will get the application structure. Fill it out on the web.
- Aspirants must check the size of the photo and thumb impression details to complete the application.
- You can pay the application fee online or through a Bank Challan, which will be created after you have filled in the necessary SSC CGL 2025 Exam application.
- After enlistment, click on Apply to get the application submitted.
- After double-checking the details, click on the Submit button. Check the details thoroughly as the alteration process is not allowed for most of the entries.
- Download the filled-in application structure.
- Take the printout for future reference.
3. Document Verification
The submitted documents are needed during the application’s last check. The applicants should have a printed version of the online submitted records. The competitors should have their Matriculation Certificate, Graduation Certificate, Caste certificate (if filled), and other significant documents.
SSC CGL Admit Card
Applicants who have registered for the SSC CGL Exam 2025 within the allotted period will receive a digital admission card, hall ticket, or call letter that can be downloaded from the SSC website.

- Fill in the necessary fields in the new window with the SSC CGL admit card 2025 login information. The login information includes the candidate’s name, date of birth, roll number, registration ID, and captcha.

Candidates should carry any photo-attached identity proof with a printed copy of their Admit card – Aadhar Card, PAN card, Voter ID Card, Driving License, Passport, or other ID Proof given by the Government. SSC CGL Exam Pattern
1. SSC CGL Exam Pattern: Tier I
The SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam will be conducted online and will consist of 4 sections with a total of 100 multiple-choice questions, carrying a maximum of 200 marks. The exam duration is 60 minutes. Tier 1 will be qualifying in nature, and the marks obtained will not be considered in the final merit list.
The SSC CGL Tier 1 2025 question paper will include the following sections:

Important Notes
- Tier I consists of Objective Type and multiple-choice questions. Except for the English Comprehension paper, the questions will be presented in both Hindi and English for all papers.
- The test will be conducted online mode.
- Negative checking for Tier 1 is 0.50.
- 60 min or 1 hour is the exam duration for the Tier 1 SSC CGL Exam.
- The disabled applicants will get an extra time of 20 minutes.
2. SSC CGL Exam Pattern: Tier II
The SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam 2025 will be held in two phases – Paper I and Paper II.
Paper I is mandatory for all posts, while Paper II is only for candidates applying for the post of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation.
