Established in 1995, IIS University, Jaipur was formerly known as the International College for Girls (ICG). The university is among the pioneering educational organisations for women. According to a study done by A.C by Nielson for ‘India Today’, the institution stands at top ranking in the state in all faculties. UGC has also accorded ICG the CPE classification, which means that it is a “College with Potential for Excellence”. The institution is one of 50 institutions in India designated by the University Grants Commission (UGC) as part of phase-II of the CPE initiative. In 1999, it began with just 56 females and seven employees. However, ICG exists now with more than 3,500 roll students, 208 faculty members and 46 staff members.

IIS Jaipur is a multicultural and active university. It is one of thirty-eight institutes in India by the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India. It is famous for its excellent teaching and encouraging teachers to think ambitiously. However, it puts particular emphasis on helping women to handle life issues with trust and imaginative management. The university is a part of IIS Institutional Groups. It aims at being an international model institution for the achievement of students exceeding ambitions. It wants to transform young people’s ambitions into reality by meeting all the global standards of education. Lastly, it is the only university to get the A+ accreditation from National Assessment and Accreditation Council, in Rajasthan.
Campus
The IIS University has a huge campus with a surface area of 50,331 m2. The campuses of Gurukul Marg (Main Campus), Mahaveer Marg, Sitapura and Kshipra Path premises cover four Wireless networks. In addition, the Government of Rajasthan has generously provided the University with 30 acres of land enabling infrastructural development and new programmes. Hence, this future campus will also provide better research centres, additional PG programmes and the building of hostels with a larger scope. The Institution has also acquired the property for a sub-campus to meet rising requirements in the district of Bharatpur, with UGC clearance.
Courses Offered at IIS University
The IIS University, Jaipur offers a diverse variety of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes. However, the length of each course, though, differs based on the course’s scope. Now, read below to know about courses at the university:
Undergraduate Courses
To be eligible for enrollment to B.A, B.Com, B.Sc/ B.Sc (Hons), an applicant should be an intermediate graduate from a recognised board. While there are programmes like BFA, BBA, BCA, BA (Hons), BJMC, and B.Sc, in which the basic need is 48% average.
Postgraduate Courses
The university offers various postgraduate courses, such as MBA, MSW, M.Com, MFA, etc. To meet requirements for enrollment, one must have at least a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and have obtained a score of 50% in the total, as well as 55% in the course in which enrollment is seeking.
PhD Courses
To enrol in PhD courses such as English, Economics, Chemistry, etc, one must have a masters degree with a 55% aggregate in relevant fields.
NOTE:
- Besides these programmes, the University also provides MPhil as well as short-term diploma courses.
- For SC/ST/OBC applicants, there is a 5% lessening of the requirement, whereas, for physically challenged candidates, there is a 3% lowering of the requirement.
Placements at IIS University
The placement cell collaborates with universities and other organisations to organise overseas study seminars, internships, workshops, and talks. Several corporations submit themselves to doing college interviews. This year, 160 students were hired by reputable firms. Wipro, Punjab National Bank, HCL, Genpact, NIIT Technologies, Infosys, HDFC Bank, IBM, Google and others are among the university’s recruiters.
