Since its founding in 2008, The Symbiosis Centre for Media & Communication (SIMC), largely recognised as India’s best media studies college, has carved out a niche in the field of media and communication education.

SIMC is a department within the Faculty of Media Communication at Symbiosis International University (SIU) (FoMC). SIU established by Government of India notice No.F.9-12/2001-U3 under section 3 of the UGC Act 1956, and NAAC has given it an “A” rating.

Through our Bachelor of Arts (Media Studies) curriculum, we give a comprehensive learning experience that includes traditional academics and research, as well as virtual and experiential learning.

University of Hyderabad

This primarily residential campus, founded in 1974, includes about 5,000 students and 400 academic members representing a variety of fields. The governor of Telangana serves as the university’s principal rector ex-officio, while the President of India serves as a guest.

Semesters:

The semester schedule at the university spans from mid-July to early May. Approximately 90% of the students reside on campus. Master’s programmes are usually two years long, while MPhil and PhD programmes are 18 months and five years long, respectively.

The university uses a continuous assessment method, with 40% of grades coming from assignments delivered throughout the semester and 60% coming from semester-end exams. The passing grade is determined on a scale of 10.0 points, with D being the lowest and A+ being the highest. Medals are awarded to the best post-graduate students.

The Indira Gandhi Memorial Library is the first fully automated university library in the country.
