AP state-level police recruitment board (SLPRB) conducts the Andhra Pradesh (AP) Police Recruitment exam. This exam has eight rounds in total. It tests both the physical and the mental caliber of the candidate:
There are several gazette posts in this department. It ranges from DY Superintendent of Police to programmers.
In addition, AP SLPRB also does direct recruitment of students on the following positions:
Police Constables for:
SLPRB came into existence on 10th September 1985. Its chairman is the inspector general of police.
SLPRB recruits for all non-gazette posts in the police department. It includes the position of station fire officers in the AP Fire and Emergency Services Department. It also recruits Deputy Jailor, Assistant Matron, and Warder (both male and female) in the Prisons Department.
They also recruit additional Public lawyers (Grade-II) and Assistant Public lawyers in AP State lawyer Services.
According to the Chief Minister of AP, SLPRB will have around 6000 vacancies in 2021.
AP SLPRB announced the notification for constable and sub-inspector posts in January. They also released the admit cards of the Assistant Public lawyer.
The application process for constables and sub-inspectors was supposed to take place in 2020. Covid-19 delayed it. The last date to pay for the application form was in February. There were 13057 vacancies in the constable post and 340 vacancies in the sub-inspector post. There were only 50 vacancies in the Assistant Public lawyer post.
AP SLPRB recruited for Scientific Assistants in Physical, Chemical, and Biology/Serology in AP Forensic Science Laboratory. They also recruited programmers in 2020. AP SLPRB released the merit list, temporary selection list, and press note in March this year. (2021) Students could check their qualifying status on the official website.
The fees vary according to the post. Students have to pay via net banking, debit card, or credit card. One can even visit the MeeSeva (e-Seva) or AP online center to pay the fee. The fee structure is as follows:

In some exams, SC/STs do not have to pay any fee.
Students need to provide original certificates for any verification. They can be disqualified if any factual information is incorrect. Apart from this, there are several eligibility criteria for AP SLPRB. They’re as follows:
Programmers and Scientific Assistants have an age limit of 42 years. There will be age relaxation for Scientific Assistants belonging from backward classes. (Up to 5 years).
The maximum age limit for women Deputy Jailors is 25 years. For SC/ST and other backward classes, the age limit increases by five years. Ex-military students also have an age relaxation.
Students must possess their degrees from recognized universities.

Students will have to have a complete vision. Students should not have color blindness or any unhealthy condition in the eye or the eyelids, or else they will not be able to give the exam.

A. AP SLPRB prepares the merit list according to the marks scored by the student. The more marks one gets, the higher their rank will be. If two students get similar grades, then their date of birth will be considered. The older student will get more preference.
A. General students need to secure 40%. OBC candidates need 35%. SC/ST students need to get 30% in the preliminary exam in both papers to qualify for mains. If students fail in one exam and pass in the other, then they will be disqualified for that turn.
The preliminary round will be of qualifying nature. AP SLPRB will only consider the mains’ marks and interviews’ marks. In 2020, the expected qualifying marks for the police exams were 140+ (out of 200) for the general category. It was 135+ for OBCs, 130+ for SCs and 125+ for STs.

A. There is no specified number of attempts. However, there is an age limit. The minimum age limit to attempt any APSLPRB exams is 18 years. The maximum age limit is 30. (Varies by the exam)
A. The vacancies in the reserved categories didn’t get filled up after the recruitment. These vacancies get added up. AP SLPRB releases them with the upcoming exam vacancies.
A. It takes around six months of preparation on average. AP SLPRB does not ask the questions in much depth. So, an overview of knowledge in every topic is required.
