This section tests the knowledge of computer applications and software. The topics covered in this section include computer hardware and software. Operating systems, MS Office, internet, and email.

ESIC UDC Syllabus: Exam Pattern
Phase I is an online initial exam having multiple-choice questions. The exam lasts one hour and comprises three sections.

Prelims Exam 2024
The ESIC conducts an exam for the post of Upper Division Clerk (UDC). To select candidates for ESIC offices across India. The ESIC UDC exam pattern occurs in two phases – Phase I and Phase II. The Prelims exam, known as Phase I, is an online basic exam. That comprises multiple-choice questions. The exam occurs for a duration of one hour. It consists of three sections. The Mains exam is an online exam for candidates who have cleared the Prelims.
The ESIC UDC Mains exam pattern consists of four sections. General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness. Quantitative Aptitude and English Grasp. The exam is for two hours. And consists of 200 multiple-choice questions, with each question carrying one mark. There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer. The Mains exam is in both English and Hindi languages.
