Yes, if you are getting re-directed to homepage again, then your account has been revoked.Account gets revoked due to non-adherence to Answering Guidelines.

Some of the most common reasons for revocation of answering privileges are:·       

  • Low CF score
  • Plagiarism
  • Abused/Incomplete answer
  • Blurred image attached with answer
  • Incorrect answer
  • Calculation errors

Experts are paid for all the valid answers submitted by them at the time of final payment settlement after account revocation. Payments are settled in the upcoming payment cycle (15th date of the upcoming month).

Note: To avoid account revocation, please make sure you maintain a CF score of 80% and above.

Yes, expert should not answer when he/she gets a mail regarding the revocation of account.

Once revoked, the account cannot be re-instated again ever in the same or any other subject.

Note: Do not register with different email id as our system will detect the duplicity and no payment will be made for the answers submitted.

We periodically validate bank accounts of our Experts as a part of statutory requirements. During this process, you might receive a notification from your bank stating that Re.1 has been credited to your account on behalf of Chegg India Pvt Ltd.This is normal and there is no need to worry.

We suggest you check the password recovery mail in all the folders of your mail box including spam folder. Only you can reset your password on Chegg.com for your account.
 
5. Follow the instructions to reset the password.
 
Once you’ve successfully reset your password, click on the login link (www.chegg.com/my/expertqa) and start answering.

The stats table on the right-hand side of your dashboard provides you insight of the questions that you have skipped and answered in a day, week and month. 

Stats including Cf score get reset on the 1st of every month (at 12:30 PM) just to give a better clarification on how many questions one has solved and skipped in a month, so you need not to worry about it!!

If you are a new expert on Chegg Q&A, your stats will show NA(Not available), which means that you haven’t answered/skipped any question on the Chegg Q&A board.

Note: If CF is NA, this indicates that none of your answers have been rated yet.

Steps to Login

To answer questions on Q&A Board, please follow the below Steps:
1.  Click on the following link: www.chegg.com/my/expertqa                   
2. Login using your credentials:
  • Username: Your registered mail id. 
  • Password: Your Password (Default password is Chegg1/Chegg123 in case you haven’t changed it yet). If you do not remember your password, you may click on “forget password” option and follow the steps to receive your password on your registered email ID.
Post login, click on ” Start Answering” button and you will be able to see the questions available to be answered.
Note: To answer a questions Chegg Q&A Board, you will get 120 minutes(two hours) and 10 minutes to decide the question whether you want to answer it or move it to the next question.

I am not able to complete my answers within allotted time of two hours, please help!
We would recommend you to carefully choose questions which you can solve within the two hours time limit. However, if the allotted time gets finished while drafting the answer then the questions will be automatically skipped.  
You may find some questions which can be answered well within one hour and some may take a bit more time. 
Note: Please answer only those questions for which you are 100% confident that you will be able to solve within two hrs time.
In some questions, students have posted many questions/many sub parts, do I have to answer all the questions? Also will i get paid separately for each question?
As per Chegg Q&A Guidelines you must answer first four sub-parts in case of a multiple sub-part question or only the first question in case of Multiple unrelated/different questions are posted by students .
However, for a higher CF score try solving the remaining parts/questions as well within two hours of time for better Student Experience.
 
Minimum protocol:
  • At least the first 4 parts must be answered

I received a question from different subject, can i solve the question if i know the answer?
Feel free to answer questions from different subject if you are 100% sure about the answer to the question. Also, make sure you provide step by step detailed explanation.
 

On Chegg Q&A Board, students post most of their questions between 11.30PM and 8AM everyday. Therefore, to answer more questions or from your favorite topics, we recommend that you login during this time so that you can maximize your earnings. 

Please Note: You can always skip a question and move on to the next one if you think you cannot provide a correct answer. To do this, click on SKIP & GET NEXT QUESTION and select “Do not have the Subject Knowledge to Answer” in the pop-up window. Remember, learning is a never ending process. So keep brushing up your knowledge by revising the topics you previously skipped.

When you join Chegg, you are placed in Trial Period during which your answers are closely monitored by our in house quality team. During this time, you will frequently receive quality reviews from Chegg. Generally, an expert remains in the trail period until he/she receives 3-4 Quality reviews.

There’s no need to worry, you will still be paid for all the valid responses submitted during the trial period. Please make sure that all your answers are correct and have step by step detailed explanation.

The character limit to answer the question is 65000. You can also add an image to your answer whenever required. Chegg provides a user-friendly writing tool for symbols, equations and formulas, the equation editor is built into the answering window. To access this tool, click on the fx button on the left of the bold button in the toolbar.

 

Common errors which experts usually commit while answering:

  • Plagiarized Answer – Plagiarism is using someone else’s work and submitting it as a part of the answer. Note: If you are not sure about the answer then skip the question using “Do not have subject knowledge to answer’’ option.
  • Giving Direct Answers to Multiple Choices Questions – As per the guideline, provide detailed steps/explanation for the correct answers. If you are answering anything just make sure the handwriting is very clear and legible.
  • Writing comments in answer section about a question – Answer section is for submitting answers only! You might get revoked due to this, and we never want that to happen!
  • If a question has a link to another website for details – We do not appreciate this from the students. Please SKIP such questions as Abusive/Spam.
  • Calculation errors –Please double check the calculation before submitting the answer. Your challenging work will be in vain if you make some calculation errors.
  • Not Skipping Incomplete Questions – If a question is incomplete, then you should SKIP the question with ‘Needs More Information’ tag and provide comments in the SKIP section only. Do not write any comment in the answering section/comments section.

On Chegg Q&A Board, your daily answering limit now is decided based on your everyday performance.

To answer more questions, you should always maintain a CF score of 80% and answer more questions every day.

Plagiarism is the act of copying someone else’s work and representing it as your own in any way.Chegg follows a zero-tolerance policy against plagiarism. Our in house-team has sophisticated software which can detect plagiarism with 100% accuracy.

You can always skip a question and move on to the next one if you think the question is too difficult for you to answer or the question is out of the scope of your subject knowledge. To do this, click on SKIP & GET NEXT QUESTION and select “I don’t have the subject knowledge” in the pop-up window. 

Quality of the answer is of utmost importance for Students’ learning experience, therefore if in the middle of writing the answer you feel that you are not too confident about the answer, you can skip it by choosing the option, “Do not have the subject knowledge to answer’’ but do not submit an incorrect/incomplete answer which would affect your CF score.

On Chegg Q&A Board, you get ten minutes to read a question and if you are not sure about how to answer the question, you can skip it with a valid reason.

You can skip the question under four categories- 

  • “It doesn’t belong to this subject”- For e.g.: Genetics is not an Electrical Engineering topic, 
  • “I need more information “- you must specify what information (any value/symbol) is needed to answer that question, 
  • “This is Abusive or Spam” -if question has external Links, References etc and 
  • “I don’t have the subject knowledge”- if you think the question is too difficult for you to answer or the question is out of the scope of your subject knowledge.

Always make sure to skip the questions with a valid reason.

We don’t penalize any expert to skip questions but as an expert we expect you to solve as many questions as possible, it is recommended that you note down the topics of the questions you skip and later try to learn those topics to expand your subject knowledge and hence earnings.

Skipping more questions with valid reason will not lead to revocation of your account or decrease in CF score but it will limit your earnings as you will only be answering questions from limited pool of questions.

On clicking on “Skip and Get Next question” button, you will be redirected to the next question and if you click on the “Exit” button you will be  redirected to the “Start Answering page”.

When you decide that you do not want to answer questions at the moment, always use the exit button.

Note: If you chose the exit button, the skip will be counted as you have already seen the question and chose to exit anyway.

Abusive questions are the ones which violates Chegg Study Honor Code.Questions containing external link are considered as Abusive questions and are in violation of Chegg Study Honor Code.

Such questions should NEVER be answered and should always be skipped as ABUSIVE/SPAM.

Method 1:

Step 1- In the answering window, click the image icon (visible on the top left corner of the editor). It will open a pop-up window.

Step 2- In the ‘Upload’ tab, click on “Choose File”.

You can drag and drop image from your computer to the answering area.

Important: PDF’s, Word Document, Excel sheets, GIF etc cannot be uploaded in the answer.

Tips for answering with images:

Always provide focused image, Only the answers – No notepad pages, margins or background items.

 

Make sure you zoom in and then click the image or crop if required.

 

Avoid flash shots, it is suggested to provide the images in vertical orientation, clear printed handwriting and one image per page.

Multiple choice questions & True / False questions
 
Students rely on your work to help understand answers to the questions they are posting, and also to gain clarity on the underlying concepts.
Therefore, in Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), it is important to:

 

1. Identify the correct answer along with a step-by-step reasoning on why the selected option is the right answer.
2. In addition, it is also important for you to explain in detail why the remaining options are incorrect. 
For Example, in an MCQ containing 4 options – A,B,C,D, if A is the correct answer, it is important to explain why A is the correct answer and why B,C and D are incorrect. 
 
For True/False questions, always provide explanation justifying your answer. Never just right True or False.
 
Multiple Sub-part questions

Whenever students comment on your answer, you will receive an email notification on your registered email ID containing a link to the comment. Clicking on the link will redirect you to the comments section of your answer where you can provide clarifications sought by the students.

Please Note: 

1. You can only post comments while using a laptop/desktop. In case you wish to post your clarifications using a mobile phone, please switch to “DESKTOP MODE” in your mobile web browser to view and respond to comments.

2. Please DO NOT post your comments in the answering section. Use comments section to post your clarifications/comments.

DO’s:

  • Keep comments short and to the point, addressing the concern.
  • Maintain decorum and be respectful to the student, even if you don’t agree with the comment.

STRICT DON’Ts:

  • DO NOT share personal details. If a student asks for your personal details; you must share such instances with your coordinator.
  • DO NOT post irrelevant comments. This can lead to revocation of your answering rights.
  • Arguing / conversations via series of comments is a STRICT NO.
  • DO NOT blame or bad mouth a student. If you have any concern regarding ratings/ comments / etc.; reach out to us.
 

We do not generally appreciate Experts editing the answers they have submitted, as it is categorized as abusive activity. In case you need to provide clarifications on an answer already submitted, we’d recommend that you share those clarifications in the COMMENTS section.

If however you still would like to edit your answer, here’s what you need to do:

Step-1: Go to “My Answers” tab and click on the answer you wish to edit. 

Step-2: Click on the EDIT button available next to your answer on the right side of your screen.

Step-3: Update the answer and click on SUBMIT.

Unfortunately, we do not allow an answer once submitted to be deleted. 

Therefore going forward, we’d recommend that you review your answer carefully before submitting for any errors.

While using any third-party application (For example: Cam scanner) to click an image of your answer to upload on Q&A board, make sure that you always crop out the logo of third-party application. Failing to do so will result in violation of Chegg Q&A guidelines and hence your answer will be marked as abused and your account will be immediately revoked. 

 

Don’t worry! Your account is working perfectly fine.

 

You’re not seeing any questions because all available questions have been locked by other experts for answering. You can either try and refresh your page at different time intervals or login later to view questions in your subject. 

 

Remember, most of the questions get posted between 1 1PM and 8 AM. Most of our top solvers answer questions in the late/early morning time.

 

Therefore, to answer questions from your favorite topics, we recommend that you login during this time so that you can maximize your earnings.

 

NOTE: Basic Maths subjects (Precalculus, Trigonometry, Geometry, Prealgebra, Algebra) are comparatively less question volume subjects as compared to Advance Maths or Stats and Probability.

CF score is a measure of the quality of answers you submit. It is typically the % of positive ratings your answers receive and is based on ratings given by students as well as our in-house Quality team. 

To continue contributing on Chegg Q&A board, you are advised to maintain a healthy CF score of 80% and above.

Note: Low CF scores are grounds for revocation of answering privileges.

Always submit correct,  step by step detailed explanation in your answers. You can attach neat and readable images and diagram whenever required.
Students are down voting my answer even when my answers are correct? What should I do?

Students usually down vote your answers if they find your answers are incorrect/irrelevant/incomplete. In case you wish to seek more clarity on why your answer was down voted, you may relevant clarifications from the student in the COMMENTS section. 

Note: Please refrain from posting unnecessary/ argumentative/ irrelevant comments as this may lead to revocation of your answering privileges.

Quality reviews are the feedback given by our in-house team of experts for accuracy, thoroughness, and adherence to the Q&A guidelines that experts received on answers. Your answers are evaluated by our Quality team and answers are given 0-5 score depending upon the quality of your answer. 
 
It is advised to use Quality reviews to improve the answering quality and make sure that you do not repeat same mistakes. This way, you will always be giving the students your best efforts.  
 
We’ll make sure to provide timely and regular feedback on your answers.
 
Note: Our in-house Quality review team take a batch of your questions for reviewing. Therefore, you don’t have to worry if not all your answers are reviewed by our in house review team. No request for specific question ids for a Quality review check will be processed.

 

Every month, we will be sharing the number of Valid responses submitted by you over Emails. You will get payment for all the valid responses you submit by 12th of the current month for valid responses submitted in the previous month.
You will receive the quality reviews more frequently if you are regular on Chegg Q&A Board. Generally, 2-3 Quality reviews are shared in a month.
 
Note: The more you answer, the faster you will receive the quality review.
As per Chegg Q&A guidelines if one fails to meet the answering standards then that expert account gets into probation period, under this period the answers are closely monitored for seven days and if he/she still not answer according to the Chegg Q&A guideline his answering right are immediately revoked. In short, falling into probation period is a warning intimation that one receives for not providing quality answers.
 
Note: Probation period is for next seven active days(at least one answer per day) from the date of intimation.

We process Expert payments once a month. 

Payments are processed through NEFT Bank transfer by 15th of Every month for the answers submitted in the last month between 1st-31st.

For Example- For all the Valid responses submitted by an expert between 1st-30th April 2019, payments will be processed by 15th May 2019.

For timely processing of your payments, please ensure:

1. You update your CORRECT bank details with us by 5th of every month, failing which we will not be able to process your payments.

2. You update your bank details with us TIMELY, failing which your payments would not be processed in the current payment cycle and would only be processed in the next month’s payment cycle.

Note: We do not process payment through Paytm /Google pay/ Airtel Money/Cash

You shall receive details of your earning for the current month on/before 13th (date) of the subsequent month on your registered email ID and the corresponding payments would be processed to your bank account by 15th (date).

We tried processing your payments but your bank refused to process it. Don’t worry, your payment is safe with us, and we’ll try and process it again in the next payment cycle.
 
Payments are reversed mainly due to one/more of following reasons: 
1. Bank details submitted by you are incorrect.
2. Your bank details pertain to an account which is not operational.
3. Bank details provided by you pertain to an account which is JOINTLY held by more than 1 party.
4. Your name as per our records does not match with the name available in bank records.
As per the Income Tax Guidelines:

 

1. In case Expert PAN details are available with us: We are required to deduct 10% TDS(Tax Deducted At Source) on all Expert payments that we process. For all such deductions made, we will provide you with a TDS certificate/Form 16 every quarter which you may use for claiming IT refunds (if eligible) at the time of filing your Income Tax Returns.
 
2. In case Expert PAN card details are not available with us: We are required to deduct 20% as TDS which gets deposited with the Income Tax Authority. For such deductions, we would not be able to provide any TDS certificates/Form 16 and such tax deductions cannot be claimed for refund (if eligible) at the time of filing income tax returns.
 
Therefore, we recommend that if you have not updated your PAN card details with us, please do so at the earliest.
Sorry, we ONLY accept details of bank accounts that have been opened in your name (Joint Accounts are also not accepted). 
In case the account does not belong to you, your payments will not be processed.
Question on Q&A Board gets skip automatically because of following reasons: 
  • Login in from multiple browsers
  • Disruption of internet connection
  • Leaving computer/laptop screen inactive for more than 15 minutes.
Please make sure that you do not let the above three reasons to occur and always clear your browser history, cache and cookies for better answering experience.

At times, you might face the issue that your answer count on the stats table is less or net getting updated, this could be due to a temporary technical glitch/delay. If your count does not get updated within 24 hrs, please raise a ticket.

Once you claim an assignment, the assignment gets locked/reserved for you.
• The team reviews your claim & provides the details required for you to deliver the assignment within 1 working day. All claimed assignments are not allocated to experts. Wait for the confirmation and book material details from coordinators.
• You would receive a mail confirmation of the assignment details and your status on the assignment changes to “Details Provided” on the next business day after claim.

Unclaimed: The assignment is available in “Available Assignments” page.
Claimed: You have claimed the assignment, it takes 2 working days for the details to be provided for you to start working on the assignment.
Details Provided: The details of the assignment have been shared with you. You can now start working after you receive confirmation mail from your respective coordinator and submit solutions before the due date.
Release: After receiving the details, you found that you are unable to answer all the question. In that case release the assignment immediately.
Completed: It means you have submitted the solutions for the assignment fully/partially.

You will get an acknowledgement for the submitted solutions after 7.00 PM every day. It is an autogenerated system mail indicating the count of submitted solutions. You will get a detailed quality check report of the submitted solutions within 10 business days after submission of the solutions.

Less than 4 QC score means that the solution batch is rejected & needs to be re-worked. You need to resubmit all the solutions in the batch, if you get a QC report as given below
