WB JECA is a qualifying entrance exam. The entrance exam gives admission to MCA courses. Those who qualify for the exam can take admission. There is no limit to giving this entrance exam. Candidates can give this entrance exam multiple times. WB JECA Exam Pattern

Candidates will get a time of three hours to complete the exam.  The WB JECA exam will have two papers.  The first paper will be held in the morning and the second paper will be held in the afternoon.  In the first paper, candidates will get two hours and in the second paper, candidates will get one hour.  The first paper will be on mathematics.  The first paper will have 100 questions.  The second paper will be of aptitude test.  The second paper will have 50 questions.  Candidates have to appear offline for both exams.  Each candidate will get an OMR sheet to answer the questions.

The question paper will have multiple-choice questions.  Each question will have four options.  Candidates have to choose the right answer among the given options.  There will be negative marking for giving the wrong answers.  Negative marks will be rewarded for giving wrong answers.  Candidates need to be careful before giving the answers.  One wrong answer will cut 0.25 marks.  Candidates must check the WB JECA syllabus and exam pattern on the official website.

Marking Scheme

The WB JECA consists of two subjects.  Each subject will have different questions and marks.  The mathematics subject will have 100 questions.  Each question carries one mark.  The second subject will have 50 questions.  Each question of the second subject carries one mark.  There will be negative marking for giving wrong answers.  Negative marks will be rewarded for giving wrong answers.  There is a provision of negative marking for the WB JECA exam.  Candidates need to be careful before answering the questions.  For every wrong answer, 0.25 marks will be cut.

WB JECA Syllabus

The board has released the WB JECA syllabus on the official website.  The syllabus consists of two subjects.  The subjects are mathematics and aptitude tests.  Candidates must study the relevant topics. Do not study the topics that are not relevant to the syllabus. By carefully checking the syllabus, candidates will be able to under the nature of questions.   • Algebra – Complex numbers, Venn diagram, Sets and elements, Universal set, Union of sets, Intersection of sets, Finite sets, algebra of sets, Class of sets, Natural numbers, Matrices, Determinants, Vectors, Addition of vectors, etc.
  • Geometry – Circle, Straight lines, Triangle, Properties of triangles, Parabola, Hyperbola, Ellipse, etc.
  • Probability and Statistics – Mean, Median and Mode, Permutation and combination, etc.
  • Calculus – Limits, Continuity, Maxima and Minima, Integration, Differentiation, etc.

 

Aptitude Syllabus

  • Reasoning – Mirror Image, Water Image, Paper folding, Paper cutting, Cube and dices, Pattern completion, Embedded image, etc.
  • Data interpretation – Line graph, Bar graph, Tabulation, Pie chart, etc.
