The WBJEE 2022 examination will be conducted on the 30th of April, 2022. Earlier, the exam date was April 23. The revised exam date has officially been confirmed by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) on its official website. The admit card will be available tentatively from April 25, 2022, onwards. Till 16th January, the candidates could fill up their WBJEE admit Card form 2022.

Only successfully registered candidates will be able to download WBJEE Admit Card 2022 by entering their application form number and password. WBJEE 2022 will be conducted as a pen and paper-based test in two shifts. Using the roll number and password, candidates can check their seat allotment on the official website after the dates are announced.

WBJEE 2021 Counseling, as well as Seat Allotment, was open to candidates who were qualified for JEE Main. The JEE Main exam determines the allocation of 10% of engineering seats in WB JEE Colleges.

About WBJEE & Conducting Authority

WBJEE 2022 (or West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination) is a state-level entrance exam for undergraduate (UG) courses in West Bengal. The courses also include Engineering and Technology, Pharmacy, and Architecture. The WBJEE 2022 Exam Pattern and Syllabus have not changed. The exam will be an OMR exam with two papers: mathematics (Paper-I) and physics and chemistry (Paper-II) (Paper-II). To be considered for admission, candidates must pass both papers.

On April 30, 2022, the WBJEE entrance exam will take place. Candidates who want to take the WBJEE exam and admission process will have to fill out an application form by January 16. (6 PM).

Fundamental Information of WBJEE

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination is a centralized state-government exam. It is run by the WBJEE Board for admission to several private as well as public engineering institutes.

After completing 12th grade, students take the test to be admitted to graduation (commonly known as Bachelors) courses. Those who studied Science in 10+2 stream in plus two levels with the specific subjects tested in the examination, Physics, Chemistry, and also, Mathematics, are eligible to sit the exam.

WBJEE Eligibility Criteria

WBJEEB has set out specific eligibility requirements for the candidates. Above all, candidates must meet the WBJEE 2022 eligibility requirements to apply for the Joint Entrance Exam. Candidates who do not meet the eligibility requirements can’t apply for WBJEE 2022 Exam. WBJEE eligibility requirements may fluctuate depending on the course and institute.

Nationality – The WBJEE Aspirants must be Indian Citizens.

Age

Applicants must be at least 17 years old before December 31, 2022, or you must have been born on or before December 31, 2005. There are no age restrictions. Candidates applying for Marine Engineering, on the other hand, must be 25 years old by December 31, 2022.

However, the minimum age requirement for admission to the Marine Engineering Course is 17 years as of December 31, 2022. And the max. age requirement is 25 years as of 31st December 2022.

Education

Aspirants should have passed Class 12 or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics with any one of the listed below subjects as compulsory subjects. Also, with individual pass marks in all the three subjects in regular class mode.

  • Computer Science; Chemistry; Biology; Biotechnology; and Technical Vocational Subject

In all, aspirants must have got a minimum of 45 percent (40 percent for candidates from reserved categories such as SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, and PwD) in the above three subjects.

Candidates must have scored at least 30% on the English section of the Class 12 exam.

Most importantly, the Qualifying Examination Board must be recognized by the Central / State Government.

Qualifying Marks – Candidates in the general category must have received a minimum of 45 percent in their 10+2 (or equivalent) examination. The minimum aggregate mark for protected categories is 40%. In addition, candidates must have received a minimum of 30% in English.

WBJEE 2022 Eligibility criteria for Pharmacy,

  • Firstly, candidates must have passed a qualifying exam at the 10+2 level or an equivalent examination recognized by any state or federal government board.
  • Candidates must have passed the 10+2 level with Mathematics and Physics as mandatory subjects and any optional subject from Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Computer Application, or Computer Science as an optional subject.
  • English Subject: Candidates must get a 30 percent proficiency in English at the 10+2 level.
  • For the qualifying entrance examination, candidates must earn a minimum of 45 percent for general categories and 40 percent for restricted categories.

How to Register and Apply for WBJEE 2022

WBJEEB has finally closed the application form for WBJEE 2022. The deadline for submitting the WBJEE 2022 application form was 16 January. To participate in the entrance and admission procedure, aspirants must complete WBJEE registration 2022 and submit their application form before the deadline. Candidates must first register for WBJEE 2022 by providing their name, gender, date of birth, and other information. Applicants must also create a password of their choosing.

How to Fill Form

The candidates must then fill in their correct personal and academic information based on the documents they have. It is also necessary to provide contact information.

Fee Payment 

Candidates will be led to a payment portal from where pay the application fee using an online payment method such as net banking, credit card, or debit card.

The application costs for WBJEE 2022 are cut by 40% for PwD applicants. All PwD candidates must formally apply in writing to the Chairman and send their application to the Board office to appear. As proof, they must include a copy of their WBJEE confirmation page and PwD certificate. After receiving the application form, they are granted a reimbursement.

WBJEE 2022 Syllabus

Exam Pattern of WBJEE 2022

The candidates are required to appear for two papers mentioned below:

  • Paper I – Mathematics
  • Paper II – Physics and Chemistry (Combined)

Aspirants appearing in both papers and who are awarded ranks will be eligible for admission in Engineering/Technology/Architecture/Pharmacy courses in all institutes. Whereas, aspirants appearing in Paper-II only and who are awarded ranks will be eligible for admission in Pharmacy courses only.

  • WBJEE 2022 is an objective type exam
  • The questions will be based on the subjects of Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.
  • The questions will be divided into three categories as category 1, category 2, and category 3.
  • In every subject, all questions will be Multiple Choice Questions, with four options.

Those who take Paper 2 will only be able to enroll in pharmacy courses. Candidates who take both Paper 1 and Paper 2 can enroll in Architecture, Engineering, Technology, and Pharmacy courses.

  • For category 1 of the WBJEE Exam, there will be only one correct answer for each question. A right answer will receive 1 point, while an incorrect answer will receive -0.25 marks.
  • For WBJEE Exam Category 2: Each question will have only one valid option. A correct answer will receive 2 marks, while the incorrect answer will receive -0.5 marks.
  • For WBJEE Exam Category 3: Each question will have one or more correct options. Correct answers will receive 2 marks; incorrect answers will receive 0 marks. Whereas partially correct answers will receive marks calculated as follows: 2 x (number of right options marked/total number of correct options).

WBJEE Admit Card

WBJEE 2022 admit cards will be available for download on 25 April, 2022.  Download the Admit Card via the internet. Thus, access the Hall ticket using their registration/application number. The candidate’s information, such as name; exam date; exam time; and exam center, will be on the admit card. As a result, the hall ticket must be kept safe and presented at the testing center. The candidate will not get access if they do not have an admission card at the center. Candidates will be required to provide their legal identity evidence in addition to their WBJEE admit card.

WBJEE 2022 Merit List: Yet to be declared

WBJEEB is supposed to create the WBJEE 2022 merit list when the online results are out. The qualifying candidates on the merit list can appear for the counseling program. It is divided into categories:

  • GMR – General Merit Rank
  • PMR – Pharmacy Merit Rank

As per 2021: Candidates who took both Papers I and II received both GMR and PMR. Whereas those who took Paper 2 received PMR. SC, ST, PwD, OBC-A, OBC-B, and TFW reserved category merit places were released separately by WBJEEB. Candidates should be aware that counseling, seat allocation, and admission will be solely based on GMR and PMR, not category ranks.

Candidates must log in with the relevant credentials to view the merit list. JEE Main candidates will get 10% of the seats in all self-financed and technical colleges. And when two or more candidates get the same score on the exam, the authorities will compile a merit list.

WBJEE 2022 Cut off Marks

WBJEE 2022 Cutoff is the minimum score necessary for admission to West Bengal colleges for B.E./B.Tech/B.Arch/B.Pharma programs.

Counseling Procedure of WBJEE

West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) will commence the WBJEE counseling after the declaration of the result. The exam conducting authority will release the schedule of WBJEE counseling 2022 soon on the official website – wbjee.nic.in. Candidates who will qualify for the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination 2022 have to complete registration to participate in the counseling of WBJEE 2022.

Shortlisted students must attend WBJEE counseling 2022, which will be in an online format. To take part in the counseling process, students must first register on the official website.

Candidates will qualify for WBJEE 2022 Counselling after achieving the minimum exam score. The counseling will take place entirely online, with a centralized computer-assisted decision filling and seat assignment process. And then select their preferred courses and colleges. Candidates must also pay the counseling fee of Rs. 500 online by net banking, credit card, or debit card. The course and college selections must take place in the order of choice.

Seat Allotment of WBJEE 2021 (Previous year)

On August 27, the authorities published the WBJEE 2021 seat allotment round 3 results. Therefore, candidates must log in to their accounts to check their allotment status. The qualifying candidates must download their allotment letters after checking their status. Individual allocation letters will not mail. Most importantly, candidates must complete the document verification process and pay the fee. However, the authority will cancel the allotment if the aspirant does not perform the following,

  • Firstly, Depending on the type of institute, proportional representation to candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PwD/TFW according to the appropriate rules.
  • Also, Reservations are only available to Indian citizens and candidates from West Bengal.
  • Candidates must provide the requisite paperwork to claim benefits under the Reserved Category.

Seat Reservation for PwD candidates in WBJEE 2021

  • The benefits of this reservation are available to anyone who has at least 40% of a defined disability.
  • Locomotor Disability; Visual Impairment; Hearing Impairment; Speech and Language Disability; and others are examples.

Seat Reservation for the wards of Defense Personnel in WBJEE 2021

  • These candidates must apply through their respective Zila Sainik Board, W.B. (for ex-servicemen), and also, Units to Rajya Sainik Board; Home Department; Government of West Bengal; Writers’ Buildings; Kolkata – 700001. (for serving soldiers).
