SAAT or Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Admission Test is an entrance exam. SAAT 2022 is a National Level Entrance Test for SOA University. It will be conducted by SOA University, Bhubaneshwar.  Candidates clearing this test will be able to take admission into various courses and institutes under the university. There are several Institutes under the university. The university offers multiple courses at the Graduation and Post-Graduation levels. The entrance test is carried out from various cities across the country.

Some of the colleges under the SOA University are SOA in Bhubaneswar, Institute of Technical Education and Research in Bhubaneswar, Parul University in Vadodara, Jain University in Bangalore. As well as, Wingsss College of Aviation Technology in Pune and Aditya College of Design Studies in Mumbai. Candidates clearing the exam can opt between 7 UG courses and 7 PG courses. SOA also offers a five-year integrated course. Courses include Engineering, Nursing, Law, Management, Hotel Management, Agriculture, Pharmacy.

The exam will be conducted in Online mode. The application for SAAT will also take place online. Students willing to apply for SAAT can visit . SAAT will consist of 120 Multiple Choice Questions. The duration of the exam will be 2 hours. The number of sections will differ for each subject. Applications for SAAT 2022 started from 1st February 2022. Eligibility for SAAT 2022 :

It is important to check whether the candidate is eligible to take the entrance test before applying to it. In case the candidate isn’t, it is likely to affect their admission to the desired course even if they pass the exam. Hence, We’ve noted down the course-wise eligibility for the SAAT 2022 below. However, there is no age bar for taking this test.

MBBS and BDS ·         Should have passed 10+2 with at least 50% marks. For Sc/ST/OBC, it is 40%

·         The lower age limit is 17 years, upper age limit is 25 years. For ST/SC/OBC, 5 years relaxation is applicable for upper age-limit

B. Sc. In Nursing ·         Must have cleared 10+2 with 45% aggregate in Biology, Chemistry and Physics. For Sc/ST/OBC, it is 40% aggregate. Must be 17 years old at least  as of 31st December 2021
M.Sc. in Nursing ·         Should have at least 55% aggregate in B.Sc Nursing degree
B. Tech ·         Must have had Physics and Mathematics in 10+2 as well as anyone subject between Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Information Technology/ Computer Science/Statistics/Informatics
M. Tech ·         Eligibility for this course is 50% marks in UG course

·         Applicant must have a Bachelors degree in Engineering/Technology/M.Sc/MCA/AMIE or equivalent

BHMCT ·         Applicant must have at least 45% marks in 10+2 (For ST/SC/OBC, it is 40%)
BBA ·         Must have cleared 10+2 in any discipline

LLM ·         Applicant must have studied/cleared LLB or integrated courses with minimum of 50% aggregate marks

Please note that separate merit lists will be drawn up for each category. In case candidates from these categories are not available, General category applicants can fill up the seats.

Candidates from these categories will need to furnish their category certificate during the counselling round. It shall be from the Tehsildar from the Place of Birth.


Applications for SAAT:

Applications for SAAT 2022 will be accepted online. Applicants willing to apply can visit the link and apply. No applications will be accepted offline. Thus, refrain from doing so. Please check the eligibility criteria for the desired course before applying for it. The application process consists of various stages. How to apply for SAAT 2022?

Candidates willing to apply for the entrance exam must follow these steps:

  • First, Visit the official website of the university, i.e., ac. in and click under the Admissions tab. A link for the Application form shall open
  • Candidates need to fill in the basic details like candidate’s name, father’s name, mother’s name, DOB. As well as, Gender, Category, Address, mobile number and email ID. Along with that, details like preferred course, academic details and exam center
  • Remember to check all details carefully before submitting the form.
  • After submitting, students need to upload a scanned copy of recent photo and signature
  • After ensuring all details are correct, submit the form. Save and download a copy of the SAAT form for future references
  • Students must fill different application forms for applying to a different course
  • Applicants will receive an acknowledgement receipt for successful application on their mail ID and mobile number

One of the most important steps of preparing for an exam is to be aware of the syllabus and exam pattern. We have tried to give in-depth information on SAAT 2022 syllabus course-wise in the table above.


SAAT 2022 Exam and Marking pattern:

The student will be given 120 minutes (2 hours) to complete the test. It will consist of 120 questions, all Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). The total marks allotted to the test is 480 marks. The sections in the question paper will vary based on the course selected. The number of questions in each section will vary too. An applicant can opt for more than one course. However, He/She will need to take different tests for separate course entrance tests. The SAAT test will be conducted in the English language only.

SAAT 2022 will be conducted online. It will be in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. Since it is a Multiple Choice Questions test, the candidate needs to choose the correct option out of the 4 options given. He/She will be awarded +4 marks for every right answer. -1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer. However, there will be no marking if the candidate does not attempt any question.


SAAT Exam Centre:

This year, SAAT 2022 will be held across 62 exam centres and in 40 cities. Students have the option to select their preferred exam centre when filling the SAAT form. However, the final decision to allot a centre would rest on the conducting body,i.e., SOA University. Once the centre has been allotted, it will not be changed again. Any last-minute changes such as an increase or decrease of exam centres depend solely on SOA.


SAAT Admit Card:

The SAAT 2022 admit card is issued about a month before the exam. The card is sent directly to the applicant’s email ID. Hence, it is advised that the applicant uses their personal email ID to register for the exam. Otherwise, the SOA University will not be responsible for misplacing the admit card. The admit card will only be sent online. There will be no offline handing out of admit cards. Once the candidate receives the admit card, he/she must take a printout of the admit card. They must carry it on the exam date along with a photo ID for verification.

The admit card will contain all the information about the candidate and the exam date. Hence, applicants must verify the details immediately after receiving if. If any information is misprinted, it must be reported to the Director of Admissions right away. The admit card will have the following details:

  • Candidate’s Name, Photograph and Signature
  • Address of candidate
  • Examination center address
  • Time of Exam
  • Valid Id/Photo ID proof to carry

Candidates will not be allowed inside the exam hall without the admit card. Failure to provide a photo ID for verification can also result in the cancellation of the exam. The admit card must be kept safely even after exams. It will be needed during the admission process. Admit cards will only be provided to candidates who are eligible for the exam and submitted forms within the due date.


SAAT Results:

The SAAT 2022 results will be announced in the first week of July. Results will be announced by the conducting body, that is, SOA. The results will be published online on their website. It will be available in the form of a scorecard. Students can view their results by visiting the official website of the university, that is, Applicants can follow the steps below to download their scorecard online:

  • Visit the official website of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan, Under the Admissions tab, click on SAAT 2022 results
  • A page will open asking for credentials. Students need to enter their details such as Application number and roll number as per the application form. Click on submit button
  • The results will appear on the screen. Students will need to take a printout of the scorecard and keep it safe. It will be needed during the admission procedure

SOA will prepare a merit list after declaring the results. It will depend on the marks obtained by all candidates in SAAT 2022. Each qualifying candidate will be given a rank card. The rank card will be sent to the qualifying candidate at their mail address. Candidates’ whose name is on the merit list will be allowed to sit for the counselling round. This is the final round for admission.


SAAT Counselling:

The merit list decides which students can sit for the counselling round. The merit list is prepared based on marks obtained by all students in SAAT 2022. The counselling round is the final round for admission. Students must attend this round if they wish to finalize their admission to the university. The candidates will have to come for the round along with a set of documents. The documents will be verified before giving admission to students into SOA.


The documents required during the SAAT counselling round are:

  • Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets
  • Both Class 10 and Class 12 passing certificates
  • Diploma/bachelors degree mark sheet
  • Diploma/bachelors degree passing certificate
  • Caste/Reserved category certificate (If applicable)
  • GPAT scorecard for M.Pharm candidates (if applicable)
  • Leaving Certificate (if applicable)
  • SAAT 2021 result scorecard
  • Birth certificate
  • SAAT 2021 Application form
  • Identity proof and photo proof
  • Recent passport size photographs (4 nos.)

Please note that the counselling process will take place on the Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan University campus. The counselling letters and rank cards will be sent to the qualifying candidate’s mail ID. Once the candidate clears the exam and counselling round, he/she will be given the choice to opt for the course and college of choice. Candidates will be allotted seats based on their merit list and reserved category as applicable. It is very important that the candidates carry the documents mentioned for verification. Failure to produce them can result in the cancellation of admission.

It is also important to note that if a candidate fails to appear for the counselling round, they will not be provided seats further. In case a candidate from the reserved category isn’t available, their seat can be filled up by the candidate from the General category.


SAAT Exam Rules:

  • The medium of the SAAT exam is English
  • SAAT 2022 will be held from assigned centers. Candidates must reach the exam venue at least an hour before the exam commences
  • Candidates coming late will not be allowed inside the exam hall
  • Applicants will not be allowed to appear for the exam without their admit card and photo ID
  • Candidates will have to be seated at least 15 minutes prior to the exam. Seating has to be as per the sitting chart prepared by the center superintendent.
  • Personal belongings such as mobile phones, palmtops, pagers, blue tooth devices or any other electronic device will not be allowed inside the exam hall
  • Candidates must sign with their full signature on the attendance sheet 15 minutes prior to the exam
  • Students who cannot present valid photo ID proof will be barred from giving their exam
  • The exam center will provide blank sheets to every candidate for rough work. Candidates are not allowed to do rough work anywhere else except the sheet
  • The candidate’s exam can be cancelled if found cheating, carrying electronic devices, breaking specific rules. Disturbing or talking to fellow examinees will not be tolerated
  • If an applicant wishes to convey a message, they must stand up or raise their hand to voice a specific concern. It will be taken note of
  • The center superintendent can take any decision if considered fair. It is binding on everyone
  • Candidates will not be allowed to leave the examination hall while the exam is in process
  • Examinees are not permitted to talk to anyone or seek help from anyone while the exam is going on

The admit card must be preserved after examination too. It will be needed during the counselling round.

A. Yes, it is extremely important to carry the photo ID on exam day. The photo ID and admit card will be verified before the exam. The exam will stand cancelled if the candidate cannot produce the admit card on the exam date.
