The Entrance Examination is the way of getting admission into various programs such as undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional degree courses. In fact, JKCET is one of the famous and most applied exams. JKCET stands for Jammu & Kashmir Common Entrance Test. This exam conducts certainly by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (JKBOPEE). This board comes specifically under the Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations Act, 2002.  Particularly, JKBOPEE is made for conducting entrance exams only for the professional courses in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

Furthermore, JKCET offers admission, especially in engineering courses. Students who want to take admission in undergraduate programs such as B.Tech and B.E can apply for JKCET. It is an offline test that is a pen and paper-based exam. it will be conducted only in the English language. The candidate can make only one attempt for JKCET. The latest updates of JKCET come on the official website jkbopee.gov.in accordingly. So all the candidates fill the application form to take admission in engineering. The applicant certainly visits the site constantly to gather the information timely. As a matter of fact, the pandemic has made many exams dates delayed. So, the students should check the dates properly and regularly.


Application fees

A candidate after registering for the exam must pay the fees as the last step. In fact, the applicants must follow each step for the registration. It involves the fees for appearing in the exam. The application fee for JKCET is certainly Rs 1200. The registration fee of the JKCET application form is also equal for all the categories (General, SC/ST, OBC, Others). The application fee must be paid specifically by credit/debit card or net banking. If a candidate wants to get a refund then there is a non-refund policy for it neither full nor partial refund. if the student won’t be able to make payment then the student will not able to submit the application form.

Eligibility Criteria for JKCET

firstly the JKBOPEE releases the eligibility criteria for CET on the official website. So, candidates can visit the official site to know about the criteria for JKCET. If a candidate meets all the requirements given on the website then only he can sit for JKCET otherwise he will get disqualified. To take admission in B.Tech in J&K a candidate certainly needs to fulfill the eligibility criteria of JKBOPEE to sit in JKCET afterward he has to fulfill the criteria of the University in which he wants to take admission. students have to fulfill the following criteria for JKCET:

Age Limit – firstly, Students should be at least 17 years old as of December 31, 2021. There is no upper age bar.

Domicile – Secondly, the students should be permanent residents of J&K state.

Academic Qualification – thirdly, candidates should have qualified 10+2th (or equal) examination from a recognized statutory Board/University. Students who will sit for the examination in 2021 will also be allowed to take part. The students in his qualifying exam must have qualified with the primary subjects of Physics, Mathematics, English, and Chemistry.

Marks Required – In the end, at least 50% marks should have been secured in the exams by the students belonging to Open Merit including the Children of Defence Personnel, Children of ParaMilitary Forces, Children of State Police Personnel, and candidates possessing outstanding skill in Sport in the qualifying exam. In the same way, for SC/ST and other Socially and Educationally Backward Classes students, the marks required is 40%.

Registration Process of JKCET 2021

Before filling up the JKCET 2021 application form, the student needs to check all the points of the application form for the JKCET 2021 examination. The points are listed below:

  • Before filling the application form, the student fulfills all the eligibility criteria.
  • Candidates can fill up the registration form in fact only in online mode.
  • students make changes in the application form before the submission of the application.
  • Most importantly, the candidate should fill in the information in the application carefully.

Students can fill the application form successfully after going through different stages. The application procedure includes filling details, fee payment, uploading photo & signature, and also final submission. To fill the application form a candidate should follow the given steps:


Step 1: Fill JKCET application form

Firstly candidates need to fill in the following details in the application form:

  • Candidate’s name
  • Candidate’s father name
  • Date of birth in DD/MM/YYYY format
  • A valid email id and mobile number
  • Academic details
  • Complete address of correspondence and permanent address
  • Select the exam center
  • After the completion of all the formalities, aspirants will receive the application number on the registered email id.


Step 2: Fee Payment of JKCET Application Form 2021

After filling in all the details in the application form, students have to pay the prescribed JKCET application fee. The application fee for JKCET is Rs 1200/-. then students have to click on the ‘Pay’ button for the fee payment. Now students can pay the fee online through debit cards, credit cards, and also net banking. After successful payment, a transaction acknowledgment page with transaction details will be displayed on the screen.


Step 3: Documents Upload

After that students have to upload the required documents such as reserved category certificate (if applicable), photo, signature, thumb impression, etc. The photo, signature, and also thumb impression need to be in JPG/JPEG format. The details of uploading the mandatory documents are available in the table below.

List of the documents required

  • A candidate should have a Permanent Residence Certificate that is mandatory for all the candidates.
  • He should have marks Sheet of the Qualifying Examination (mandatory for all except in whose case result is awaited)
  • Students have to upload the Date of Birth Certificate that is mandatory for all the candidates
  • If a student belongs to any Reserved Category then he has to upload a reserved category Certificate as well.


Step 4: Print JKCET 2021 Application Form 

After all the above steps, finally, the candidate has to take the print of that application. When students will click on the print application form link, then the preview of the application form with all the submitted details such as payment details will be displayed on the screen. Keep the printout of the application form safe.


JKCET Syllabus

JKCET exam pattern

Before the initialization of exam preparation, a student certainly needs to see and understand the exam pattern thoroughly so he can prepare it with the exam format. the administration conducts CET in offline mode but they can fill the application form only online mode. CET will be only in the English language and the duration of the CET  exam will be significantly 3 hours. The question paper will have 3 main subjects physics, chemistry, and mathematics. In the exam, there will be 180 questions and each section will contain 60 questions. Moreover, there will be negative markings. For each wrong answer, the exam checker will deduct a 0.25 mark. For each correct answer, the student will get 1 mark. 


JKCET Admit Card

Certainly, to appear in the CET, candidates should have a valid admit card issued by the JKBOPEE. Aspirants certainly keep in mind that candidates should have their admit cards otherwise they can not sit in the exam. Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (JKBOPEE) releases the admit card for CET online at the official website that is jkbopee.gov.in.
