IIT JAM Notification: 2022 LATEST UPDATES

The Application Process for the IIT JAM 2022 was supposed to be on August 30, 2021. Later, the date, August 25, 2021, was decided to make it earlier than before. You must submit the application form before October 11, 2021, as it is the last date of submission. You can visit the IIT JAM official website or click the given link  https://jam.iitr.ac.in/

• It is an online mode examination. You will need to give an online test.
•  IIT JAM 2022 online exam will be conducted across 82 cities all over India
• The application fees for the IIT JAM exam are Rs 1500

 

ABOUT IIT AND IIT JAM EXAM:

IIT JAM is conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology for admission into Master of Science (M.Sc.) as well as other science post-graduate programs also offered by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and National Institutes of Technology (NITs).

The IITs are situated all over India under the authority of the Government of India, Ministry of Education. The Institutes of Technology Act, 1961 governs the twenty-three institutes all across the country. The IIT JAM was started in the year 2004 to provide admissions to the students in IITs, the Indian Institute of Science (IIFSc), and other Technical Institutes.

The admit card for the IIT JAM 2022 exam will possibly be released by January 4, 2022. The application fee for a single exam is Rs 1500 and Rs 2100 if you are opting for two subjects.

IIT JAM 2022 APPLICATION FEE:

You will have to pay a certain amount after you complete the application form successfully. Your payment must be made online via Debit/ Credit card or net banking. The application fee structure for the IIT JAM 2022 is given below for your reference:

You can check the status of your application by visiting the IIT JAM official website https://joaps.iitr.ac.in/   After you have completed and submitted your application form. The application form status will let you know whether your application is received, accepted, rejected, or under review. After the verification of your application is completed by the exam conducting authorities the status will be updated and you will receive a notification on your email for the same.

IIT JAM EXAM CENTERS 2022:

• The exam will be conducted across cities divided into eight zones. Each city can have more than one exam center.
• You can select a maximum of three cities while filling the IIT JAM form. However, you must select the first two exam cities in the same zone and the third city anywhere in India.

IIT JAM EXAM DATE 2022:

The IIT JAM Exam 2022 will be divided into two sessions and it will be a Computer Based Test (CBT). The exam is scheduled for February 13, 2022 (Sunday). You can select more than one subject.

The schedule for the IIT JAM Examination 2022 has been released by JAM 2022 website. The application process has already started on August 25, 2021. Previously, August 30, 2021, was decided but was preponed to an earlier date. The application process will end on October 11, 2021. IIT JAM ELIGIBILITY: 2022 examination

The Eligibility Criteria for the IIT JAM exam 2022 has been announced. You can go through the points below to know more about the IIT JAM eligibility:

 

• To meet the eligibility criteria for the IIT JAM 2022, you must have a bachelor’s degree and aggregate 55% marks or an equal to CGPA.
• The aggregate marks scheme for the ST/ SC/ PWD categories is 50%.
• The marks must be considered without rounding off, including all the subjects as well as subsidiaries and languages combined.
• You can appear for the exam even if you are due for your graduation exams or you have already appeared for the exams.
• After clearing the IIT JAM exam 2022, you will be eligible for the admission process.
• IIT JAM 2022 has no age limit.
• Foreign nationals with Indian degrees are also eligible to apply for the examination.

 

IIT JAM REGISTRATION for 2022:

You can only apply through the JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS) portal. The link for the portal is available at the JAM 2022  https://jam.iitr.ac.in/ website. The Registration process will be made available from August 25, 2021, on the website. You will have to first register on the JOAPS website with the following details:

 

• Your name
• A valid E-mail
• Working Mobile Number
• Password

You must enter your active email as all the details will be sent to you on your email. You should not use someone else’s email ID and make sure only you are registered from that email. Make sure the mobile number you provided is active. After the successful registration on the portal.  The Enrolment ID will be sent to you on your email as well as your mobile number. You should keep your Enrolment ID as well as your password confidential.

 

 

DATA REQUIREMENTS FOR FILLING THE APPLICATION FORM: Your following details will be required to fill in your application form on the JOAPS portal:

 

• Personal Information (name, date of birth, mobile number, Parent’s Name, Parent’s mobile number, etc) Your name must be the same on the application form as on your qualifying degree.
• Your Address with PIN code
• Eligibility Degree details
• College name with address, including PIN code
• Choice of JAM paper(s)
• Choice of JAM cities
• Your High-quality Image
• High-quality Signature
• A scanned copy of the category (ST/ SC/PwD) certificate, if applicable.
• Details of a valid Identity document (ID)
• Your Debit-credit, Net-banking details for fee payment

THE IIT JAM PHOTOGRAPH AND SIGNATURE SPECIFICATIONS:

IIT JAM APPLICATION FORM PHOTOGRAPH SPECIFICATIONS:

You can go through the given photograph specifications to avoid getting it rejected due to any reason. Your photograph must have a 3.5 cm Width and 4.5 cm Height. You can take a look at the table below for more details:

Your photograph must be of good quality and in JPEG format and must be clicked in a professional studio. Any other medium used for taking your picture such as a mobile phone will be rejected.

The Photograph provided by you should be colored and must have a white or any light-colored background. Only clear glasses are permitted, if you wear spectacles with dark or tinted glasses your photograph will not get accepted. Poor quality images will lead to rejection with no application fee refund.

The file size of your image must be within 5KB to 200 KB.

 

IIT JAM SIGNATURE SPECIFICATIONS:

Your signature must be done on white paper with a blue or black ink pen and it must be in a JPEG format and signature must be done horizontally so it should fit in the box.

If your signature includes any capital letters, initials, or any other ink pen it will be rejected. The file size of your image must be 5KB to 100.

IIT JAM EXAM PATTERN: 2022 Examination

The IIT JAM Examination is a Computer Based Test (CBT) scheduled to be conducted on February 13, 2022. The Exam is going to be conducted for seven subjects. You can select your subjects accordingly:

The examination is divided into two sessions:

You will get three hours to complete the examination. There is a total of 60 questions with a 100 marks weightage. The Question paper has three sections:

• SECTION A- MULTIPLE CHOICE QUESTIONS: Four options will be given to you with any one of the options as a correct answer.
• SECT B- MULTIPLE SELECT QUESTIONS: In this section also you will get four options but more than one correct answer.
• SECT C- NUMERICAL ANSWER TYPE: In this section, the answers will be in real numbers but you will not get any options.

 

The marking scheme for each section is explained below for your reference:

There will be no negative marking for IIT JAM Exam 2022. But you will get a deduction for wrong answers.

 

IIT JAM ADMIT CARD: 2022 Examination

The Admit Card will be made available on the JOAPS portal from January 4, 2022, for you to download. You will need to enter your Enrolment ID and password to log in to the Portal. You must keep in mind the below-given points.

• For any errors in your admit card, you just need to inform the organizing authority for immediate changes.
• You will need to carry a printout of the admit card as well as a photo ID proof.
• The details on your admit card should be correct to avoid any problems on the day of the exam.
• You must keep your admit safe and in good condition for future use, like during the admission.

 

You can follow steps to download your admit card:

• Go to the JAM 2022 website and click on the tab under the JOAPS portal
• Enter your log-in details, Enrolment ID, and password.
• Check the declaration box and download your IIT JAM admit card 2022
• Take out the print of your admit card and make sure the print is visible as well as your photograph on the admit card.

IIT JAM RESULT 2022:

The result will be announced on the official website on March 22, 2022. You can go to the JOAPS portal by logging in your details. The Results will be declared in the form of a merit list including:

• All India Rank
• Your Name, Marks
• Category and,
• Your Qualifying Status.

The scorecard will be announced by the authorities in March 2022. Only if you are qualified you can download the scorecard from the JOAPS portal. The date of the release of the scorecard will be notified by the authority.
