The long-form of CEED Exam is the Common Entrance Examination for Design. It is a joint entrance examination for postgraduation in the field of IT design. Every year, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay conducts the CEED Exam for the admission of students in Masters of Design (M.Des) and Ph.D. (in design) programs. This exam gets organized on behalf of the Ministry of Human Resource Development under the Govt. of India. It offers students programs in various IIT and IISc colleges across India.
The M.Des colleges include IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIT Delhi, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Kanpur, UPES Dehradun, and IIITDM Jabalpur. The Ph.D. colleges include IIT Bombay, IISc Bangalore, IIT Kanpur, and IIT Hyderabad.
However, the aspirants get admission to their desired colleges based on their CEED Exam marks. Every year, more than 5,000 students sit for this exam.
CEED Exam depicts the aspirant’s creativity, observation skill, designing, drawing, and writing knowledge. They should be good in these segments in the field of IT and industrial design.
The CEED Exam consists of two segments – Part A and Part B. Part A includes MCQ questions. It is the screening exam for the candidates.
Part B includes descriptive-type questions. It examines the drawing, designing, and writing skills of the aspirants. Hence, Part A occurs in online mode, and Part B occurs in offline mode. However, the aspirants who successfully pass the Part A exam get qualified to sit for the Part B exam.
The CEED Exam occurs on an all-India basis. It is a national-level entrance exam.
IIT Bombay conducts this exam under the Ministry of Human Resource Development. This exam examines the visual perception ability, drawing skill, communication skill, and designing knowledge of the aspirants. The applicants should go through the previous year’s exam syllabus and should plan accordingly. The CEED Exam always occurs in Jan every year.
IIT Bombay is the CEED Exam conducting body. It is one of the most famous and oldest engineering institutes in India. The application fees for CEED Exam for General candidates is Rs.3,200/-
It is Rs.1,600/- for all the women candidates.
For SC/ST/PwD candidates, it is also Rs.1,600/-
The applicants have to keep in mind that the application fees are neither refundable nor transferable. The candidates should submit the application form and then pay the application fees on the official website.
The payment mode will get mentioned there on the site. It occurs online, i.e., through a Debit card or Credit card, or Net Banking. It can also get done through PAYU Payment Gateway. However, the application fee does not charge any proceeding fees or other charges or extra services from the bank.
There is no limit to the number of attempts in the CEED exam. The applicants can sit for the exam as many times as they want, as long as they match the eligibility criteria.
The CEED Exam gets divided into two parts. Part A and Part B. Part A occurs in online mode as it includes MCQ questions. However, Part B occurs in offline mode as it consists of descriptive-type questions. The exam is carried through pen and paper mode as it includes drawing-based questions.

The CEED Exam date 2022 for the Part A exam, got declared already on the official website. It got published by the IIT Bombay on 1st Sept 2021.
The CEED Exam registration will start from 9th Sept 2021 in online mode.
The applicants have to visit the site for online registration. The CEED Exam will begin on 23rd Jan 2022, and the exam will get conducted from 9 am – 12 pm.
Only Part A Exam dates got released now officially. After the applicants pass this round, the Part B exam dates will get announced consequently.

The CEED Exam official notification got released on 1st Sept 2021 on the official website by the IIT Bombay.
In the exam notification, they released the important exam dates and all the other exam events.
Alongside, the notification also released information about the exam syllabus, exam pattern, exam application process, exam admit card, eligibility criteria, etc. It holds various necessary information. Hence, the aspirants must download and save the notification for their future references. It will help them to get prepared better for the upcoming exam.
The application registration will begin from 9th Sept 2021 in an online manner. The application form will get released by the IIT Bombay on the official website. The applicants need to visit the official website to fulfill the online registration process. While filling the online application form, they also have to pay the online application fees to complete the registration process. This registration process will continue till 10th October 2021. With the late payment, the online registration process will be up to 17th October 2021. The applicants must confirm that they meet all the eligibility criteria before they start the online registration process.

The CEED Exam consists of two segments. The first is Part A, and the Second is Part B. Part A is the screening exam for the candidates. It consists of MCQ questions. Hence, it gets carried out in online mode. The applicants need to pass the Part A exam first to sit for the Part B exam. Part B examines the design and the creative skills of the applicants. It consists of descriptive questions. Hence, it gets carried out in offline mode. The step by step processes for the online CEED Exam Registration 2022 are as follows :
The CEED Exam Syllabus got published along with the official notification on the website by the IIT Bombay on 1st Sept 2021. There are two segments in the CEED Exam – Part A and Part B. Hence, the syllabus for both the segments got published separately.
The Part A Exam syllabus involves subjects like Environmental Awareness, Visualisation, Analytical Reasoning, Social Awareness, Spatial Ability, Logical Reasoning, Language, Designing, Creativity, Observation Skills, etc.
The Part B Exam syllabus involves subjects like Drawing, Analytical Reasoning, Creativity, Communication Skills, Problem Solving Skills, etc.
To score better in the exam, the applicants must prepare themselves better in all the subjects above. They should go through all the topics that are there in each subject matter. Also, they should check out the exam syllabus and the question papers of the previous year. In this way, they can know the types of questions in the exam and which topic is more important.
However, the applicants must practice their drawing and designing skills more than the theoretical section because the exam conducting body sees the applicant’s designing and creativity skills more rather than their writing.

The CEED Exam Pattern 2022 already got published along with the official notification on the official website by the IIT Bombay on 1st Sept 2021. The applicants who are sitting for the 2022 CEED Exam must go through the exam pattern thoroughly. It is to know about the arrangement and the marking structure of the question paper.
The CEED Exam gets divided into two segments – Part A and Part B. Both of these exams occur on the same day but at different timings. The CEED Exam will begin on 23rd Jan 2022. The Part A exam will occur from 9 am-10 am, and the Part B exam will occur from 10 am-12 pm.
The CEED Part A question paper includes objective-type questions.
The CEED Part B question paper includes descriptive-type questions and drawing questions.
Both of these exams are on 100 marks each. The medium of the question paper is English.
The Part A exam is the screening exam for the candidates. If the applicants pass the Part A exam successfully, they can give the Part B exam. The CEED Merit list gets based on the scores achieved by the applicants in the Part B exam.
The CEED Exam Admit Card will get released on the official website. It will get released by the IIT Bombay on 8th Jan 2022. Every year the authority releases the admit card around this month. However, the admit cards are for those who successfully submit the application form online and pay the application fees. But, the admit cards should get downloaded online from the official website by the applicants. The applicants have to provide their registration number and password to get the online application form. It will not get delivered to the applicants by post.
The CEED Exam Admit Card is a necessary document. Hence, the applicants need to save and download the admit card and print it out for their future use. The applicants are not allowed to sit in the exam without the admit card. So, they need to carry them along on the exam day.
The admit card holds crucial information like the applicant’s name, roll number, exam centers, etc. If the applicant finds any errors in the admit card, then they should immediately report it to the concerned authority for rectification. They will try to help them as soon as possible.

The IIT Bombay will release the CEED Exam Result 2022 on 8th Mar 2022. Based on their exam result, the applicants can apply for admission to the various design institutes of India.
They will release it online mode on the official website. The applicants cannot download it in any other manner. No hard copy of the result will get sent to the applicants by post. The applicants can check their results from the “Candidate’s Portal” section and type the required credentials. The required credentials are the Email ID and the Password. After this, the applicants can download the scorecard from the official website from 12th Mar – 14th June 2022. The CEED Exam Result remains on the official website for a year. Hence, the applicants can save and download the result anytime they desire and print it out for their future uses.
However, the applicants who cannot clear the exams will get to see the result. But, they will not get to see the scorecard. The applicants should keep the CEED Exam Result with themselves until they get admission to their desired institution. The printout of the result is necessary for admitting to the institution.
