OSSC CGL Exam 2025 Eligibility 

It is important that the candidates are aware of the eligibility criteria for the OSSC CGL examination to make sure that their candidature is valid for recruitment. All the necessary conditions for one to be eligible for the examination are listed below. 

Age – 

The age of a candidate taking part in the OSSC CGL examination 2025 must not be below 21 years and above 38 years as of 1st January 2025. However, there are usual age relaxations as per the prevailing rules for SC, ST, SEBC, PwD, Women, and Ex-servicemen as given below.

Note – 

  1. A candidate who comes under more than one category shall be eligible only for one benefit of age relaxation as per the rule which will be most beneficial to her/him. 
  1. To be eligible, candidates not enjoying any relaxation of the upper age limit, must not have been born earlier than 2nd January 1986 and not later than 1st January 2003. 

Qualification –  

The candidate taking part in the OSSC CGL examination 2025 must fulfill some minimum qualifications in order to be eligible for the recruitment process. The qualification criteria that should be checked before registering for the exam are mentioned below. 

  1. The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree or other equivalent degree from a government-recognized university or institution. 
  1. The candidate should have a good character. 
  1. The candidate should be of sound health, have a good physique, and be free from organic defects or bodily infirmity. 
  1. If married, the candidate should not have more than one spouse living. 
  1. The candidate should have passed the middle school examination with Odia as a language subject. OR 

The candidate should have passed the HSC examination with Odia as the medium of examination in non-language subjects. OR 

The candidate should have passed Odia as a language subject in the final examination of Class VII or above from a school or educational institution recognized by the Odisha government or Central government. OR 

The candidate should have passed a test in Odia in the middle English school standard conducted by the School and Mass Education Department of the Government of Odisha. 

  1. The candidate should be able to read, write, and speak the Odia language fluently.

Only candidates who possess Indian nationality or Indian citizenship are eligible to take part in the OSSC CGL 2025 examination.

Application Fee – 

For the OSSC CGL recruitment examination, all candidates have been exempted from paying any application fee, that is, there is no application fee required for completing the registration and applying for the examination.
