What is TSTET?
The Telangana State Teachers Eligibility Test (TSTET) is a state-level exam conducted by the Telangana Government to determine the eligibility of candidates for teaching positions in primary (classes I-V) and upper primary (classes VI-VIII) schools.
The TSTET is divided into two levels: level 1 and level 2. TSTET 2025 Eligibility Criteria
The Telangana Government Department of School Education has issued the TS TET eligibility requirements and test rules.
1. Educational Qualifications
The Government of Telangana’s Department of School Education has published certain rules on the TS TET educational requirement. Review the advice below:
- For candidates who want to teach grades I through V: Candidates for the general category must have earned at least a 50% grade point average in Intermediate or Senior Secondary school (or its equivalent). Applications are accepted from SC/ST/BC/Differently Abled categories with a minimum GPA of 45%.
- The candidates must have completed a 2-year elementary education diploma, a 4-year bachelor’s degree in elementary education, or a 2-year special education diploma.
- For candidates who want to teach grades VI through VIII: Candidates for the general category must have received at least a 50% grade in their B.A., B.Sc., or B.Com. The candidate must also have completed a B.Ed. Course.
Paper 1 Educational Qualifications
The following is a discussion of the required education for the TSTET 2025 Paper 1 exam:
- Candidates with a 10+2 or equivalent grade point average of 50% are eligible to take this test. The required minimum score for candidates who are OBC, PwD, SC, or ST is 45%.
- Candidates must hold a two-year Special Education Diploma, a four-year Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed), a two-year Elementary Education Diploma, or both.

Paper 2 Educational Qualifications

- Candidates must have earned at least 50% of their possible points in a four-year BA Ed/BScEd program.
- Candidates who are OBC, PWD, SC, or ST may apply with a minimum cumulative GPA of 45%.
Or,
- Candidates must have a degree in literature, a bachelor’s degree in an oriental language or an equivalent, a postgraduate degree in the relevant language, or a degree with language as one of the optional courses.
- Candidates must have earned a B.Ed. or a Certificate in Language Pandit Training. Only language teachers must meet this requirement
Note: Candidates taking the Bachelor of Education/Diploma in Elementary Education test in their final year are also eligible to apply for the Telangana State Teacher Eligibility Test exam in 2025.
2. Age Limit
There is no upper age restriction for the TSTET 2025 application process in Telangana. For TSTET 2025 Paper 1, applicants must be older than 18.

TSTET 2025 Exam Pattern
