The candidates must be aware of the eligibility criteria for the TNPSC Group 1 examination to make sure that their candidature is valid for recruitment. All the necessary conditions for one to be eligible for the examination are listed below.

Educational Qualification –

Applicants must hold a degree from a university established by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India, or from any other institution recognized as a university under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, including those established by an Act of Parliament.

Deputy Superintendent of Police	Preference shall be given to candidates who possess National Awards for Physical Efficiency.
Assistant Commissioner (Commercial Taxes)	1st Preference – Degree in both Commerce and Law with a Diploma in Taxation Law. 2nd Preference – Degree in both Commerce and Law. 3rd Preference – Degree in either Commerce or Law with a Diploma in Taxation Law. 4th Preference – Degree in either Commerce or Law.

Note: Candidates who have appeared for their final year degree examination are also eligible to apply for the Preliminary Examination for direct recruitment to the posts under Combined Civil Services–I (Group-I Services). However, they must submit proof of having passed the degree examination at the time of uploading original documents for the Main Written Examination. The last date for document submission will be announced later. Failure to provide this proof will result in disqualification from the Main Written Examination.

Physical Qualification –

The candidates applying for the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police (Category-1) under the TNPSC Group 1 examination, must fulfill the physical criteria for that post to be eligible for recruitment. The physical qualification for each post as per the official notification of TNPSC has been mentioned below.

4. After filling out all the necessary details including submission of documents, photograph, and signature, the candidate shall pay the application fee to complete the application process.
