By: Mukul

Tyohaar ki taiyaari! (Festival preparations!) Mark your calendars. This year, Dussehra falls on Friday, 24th October 2025.

Dussehra, or Vijayadashami, celebrates Lord Rama's epic victory over the ten-headed demon king, Ravana. A timeless tale of courage!

The Story of Good vs. Evil

The day also honours Goddess Durga's triumph over the buffalo demon Mahishasur after nine nights of fierce battle (Navratri).

The Power of Shakti

All across India, the story of Ramayana comes alive in colourful plays called Ramlila, teaching lessons of dharma and righteousness.

Tradition: Ramlila

The celebration peaks with Ravan Dahan! Giant effigies of Ravana, his brother, and son are set ablaze in a spectacular show.

The Main Event: Ravan Dahan

This fire burns away our own inner demons of ego, greed, and negativity. It's a powerful reminder to choose good in our lives.

What It Symbolises

What's a festival without food? Many celebrate with crispy Fafda and sweet, syrupy Jalebi. A delicious tradition!
