History of the University of Delhi

Delhi University got established as a unitary in 1922. It came into existence by an Act of the then Central Legislative Assembly of British India. The University likewise started operations with four colleges. Subsequently, the College got affiliated with the University. It started its education endeavor with St. Stephan’s College (1881), Hindu College (1899), Zakir Hussain College (1792), and Ramjas College (1917). Furthermore, Delhi University only had two faculties back then, namely, Arts and Science. And these faculties consisted of approximately 750 students only.
