HERMANN GUNDERT CENTRAL LIBRARY KANNUR UNIVERSITY

There are around 53001 books there. And also, there are 15 newspapers, 227 periodicals, more than 1500 CD ROM, 22650 journals, and more than 2lakh eBooks in the library.

The library is an essential component for the university’s research and education mission as it has all the necessary facilities like chairs and tables with proper electricity, journals, newspapers, etc.

In other words, it provides various references as well as textbooks. And also, the college has a fully facilitated and well-established library for the students where they can find various journals and books. In addition, it provides an atmosphere to the student where they can more concentrate on their studies.

Laboratory

Moreover, all the laboratories are well equipped and facilitated with the required types of equipment and aids. And also, these are facilities are meet up the guidelines set up by the concerned authorities.

Social and environmental steps

Kannur University students have been taught to be environment-friendly. Moreover, college is trying to make people aware of the importance of women’s education. In addition to this, students get to experience and feel happy to work as a team for societal welfare through these activities.

Cultural and educational Festivals, extra-curricular activities

Kannur University organizes the Annual sports meet every year. Therefore, the Students participate and get various prizes by showing up their skills and talents in various fields.

There are music society, literary society, dance club, Technical festivals, university festival held yearly at the campus. And also, students participate in the competition and show their talent in various fields like dance, music, sports, acting, painting, debate, speech competitions, etc. In addition to this, students can also volunteer in various social activities to get exposure to societal behavior and change with their studies. Alumni

Kannur University has the ‘Alumni Association’. And also, alumni meet held to provide live interaction between students and well-established people studied from the colleges. Moreover, they share their experiences and success stories with the students of the university. In addition to this, various programs and activities are held during the meet to encourage the students and showcase their talent.

Financial assistance

Provision of financial assistance for the students who fall under the category of ‘Economically Weaker Section’. First of all, the students need to submit the required documents and after verification according to their family income, the annual fee is deducted by some percentages. However, students who belong to the SC/ST categories can avail the benefits of scholarships. Moreover, the process to get a scholarship is not that much complicated.

NCC (National Cadet Corps) & NSS (National Service Scheme) Cells

The unit of NCC is active in this college and students can be part of this by fulfilling all requirements of the NCC department. In addition to this, there is the benefit of the NCC certificate because various government jobs prefer the certificate holder for the same.

Seminar and Conferences

Seminars, webinars, etc. are conducted for the students. And also, various activities including extra-cocurricular activities.
