Founded in 2007, the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram is now a deemed university under Section 3 of the UGC Act of 1956. IIST is an independent organization within the Indian government’s Department of Space (DoS). Facilities at IIST Thiruvananthapuram

IIST Thiruvananthapuram is a space research and development institute.
