India has three types of Ownership of Universities. There are public universities, private universities, and deemed universities. Firstly, public universities have government ownership of universities. Likewise, private universities are under the local legislative assembly. And lastly, the deemed university can avail status and privileges of a university.

There are three types of ownership of universities namely, public universities, private universities, and deemed universities. Please see below to know about types of Universities Ownership.

Public Universities

Public universities have government ownership of universities. Moreover, these kinds of universities receive government grants from national or subnational governments. In India, most of the universities are public or government-aided. However, there are some UG colleges and engineering schools which have public university affiliations. Deemed Universities
